5. What ride exceeded your expectations the most in 2018?

Millennium Force. Love me a good and wild RMC, but can't underestimate a smooth, giant, and long roller coaster chock full of constant speed.

6. Best meal/food at a park in 2018?

Still has to go to Holiday World's Thanksgiving section Plymouth Rock Café... I love fried chicken too much.

Kentucky Kingdom... duh.

9. Best ride themed to a bird?

... Thunderbird. Next question.

10. Lamest ride/coaster you rode in 2018?

In terms of high expectations, low outcome? I'll give that to Valravn. Not that I didn't like it, it's a lil more of a pretty lawn ornament than anything.

11. What roller coaster currently sits at the top of your bucketlist? (degree of difficulty: NOT a new-for-2019 ride)

Dodonpa. Always been a spooky coaster to me.

12. What new-for-2019 ride or coaster are you most looking forward to?

Only been to WinterFest, so...

16. Mystic Timbers mystery shed or Wicker Man fire infusion?

22. Best drop tower under 150 feet?

FearFall at... yes, Kentucky Kingdom.

26. What is your second favorite Cedar Fair park and why?

Cedar Point. Not a park that really allows time for slowing down to eat and relax due to its size and amount of things to do, unless you're spending multiple days there. Some folks don't see a point in slowing down at a park and prefer doing things back to back to back, but I certainly do.

33. Name something that tend to take home from parks that you didn't bring with you.

Diamondback.

How dare you! They gave you a tambourine!

Can you name another ride on this planet where they give you a tambourine while you ride? No? That alone makes this ride 100% better than any SLC in the world!

Probably Space Mountain at Disneyland (used to go as a kid all the time when lines were walk ons).

22. Best drop tower under 150 feet?

Haunted Mine Drop, Glenwood Caverns. Wish more parks could do underground stuff like that.

23. Maverick or Millennium Force? (If you haven't been to CP, pick what you want to ride more)

Maverick (current #2).

24. Log flumes or sky rides? You can only choose one.

1. Not really going to it.

2. Not really going to it.

3. Not really going to it.

26. What is your second favorite Cedar Fair park and why?

Knott's Berry Farm. Especially with recent management, love that it's retained a good chunk of its original history and continues to follow that pattern.

27. What is your home park and give us two good reasons why we should pay it a visit.

1. It's in Denver

2. It's probably closing soon

(Elitch Gardens, but even I haven't been there in a few years).

Launch.

Yep (Fuji-Q, Cedar Point, Knott's).

30. What is your least favorite wooden coaster?

Psyclone, Magic Mountain.

31. Disney fanboys: cool or cult?

Like any fandom, most people in it are generally pretty cool about it, and there there are the freaks that become the stereotypical image of [insert fandom here] and make it awkward for the casual fans.

32. Best Batman themed ride?

The B:TR clones. Sure they're clones, but they're still great.

33. Name something that tend to take home from parks that you didn't bring with you.

Attraction merchandise (if the design is good: wanted Steel Vengeance stuff, but it all looked like it was designed by an edgy 15 year old).

34. Best wooden coaster over 110 feet tall? (rcdb will help you)

GhostRider, I guess. I need to get to El Toro at some point to remedy this.

35. Have you ever been hit with something (loose change/a tree/vomit/etc) while riding something?

Most recent was hail, which is not pleasant at all.

36. Skywarps: credits or no? State your case.

I think they're a little more like Larson Loops than coasters, but I could understand if someone wanted to count one.

37. Turkey legs: nah or yaaaaassssss?

Nah.

38. What is the most recent B&M that you rode?

Silver Bullet, Knott's Berry Farm

39. You can eat nothing but corn dogs, churros or funnel cake for the next 48 hours, which do you choose?

Churros.

40. Post a great on-ride shot of you from 2018. (DO IT!)

Don't have any from 2018, sadly.

While I could easily say Valleyfair, Nickelodeon Universe is easier to give good reasons for why one should visit.

1. Name 3 of your favorite roller coasters, but not your top 3.

I would say The Beast for its night rides, Phantom’s Revenge because it’s near and dear to my heart, and Twister at Knoebels, which would be #1 at most parks.

2. About how many different parks did you visit in 2018?

30-35, thanks to 20 or so in Japan

3. Which 2018 park visit was your favorite?

Tokyo DisneySea: got an unlimited popcorn pass, saw Mickey play drums, rode a gondola through Italy, ate lunch inside a volcano, and abused the hell out of the Indie single rider line.

4. Your favorite 2018 park addition (ride, food, show, etc).

Steel Vengeance without a doubt. It took me all day to brave the line (had heard horror stories of the spiders which while true was worth suffering through)

5. What ride exceeded your expectations the most in 2018?

Flight of passage probably. I really knew nothing much about it but it’s just fun from start to finish. The whole experience.

6. Best meal/food at a park in 2018

Didn’t make it out to Knoebels but likely something from Disney. Did have some decent food at Fuji Q and Nagashima but I’ll give the nod to Epcot.

7. What was your favorite new coaster of 2018 NOT made by RMC or Larson?

Eh, I didn’t ride enough new stuff honestly to pass too much judgment.

8. Name one park you will definitely visit in 2019.

Kennywood to ride my home park’s new hotness (it it opens).

9. Best ride themed to a bird?

Yeah, this is easy. Phoenix

10. Lamest ride/coaster you rode in 2018?

Oh boy. There were certainly some lame ones out in Japan but each of those usually had some sort of ‘charm’ to them. Probably New Wild Mouse at Misaki Park. Just kind of crawled around.

11. What roller coaster currently sits at the top of your bucketlist? (degree of difficulty: NOT a new-for-2019 ride)

I would say Olympia Looping. I don’t think it’s in the cards just yet. I’m really hoping to get to Germany before it’s retired.

12. What new-for-2019 ride or coaster are you most looking forward to?

Steel Curtain as it’s the only one I can guarantee I’ll ride if it opens.

13. Name the first totally middle-of-the-road (not bad/not great) park that comes to mind.

I find this difficult and kept bouncing between places here. A lot of places are just good or bad for me. I would say Delgrossos though because it has a lot going for it (nice water park and food) but really has little in the way of unique rides. It’s a really nice local park though.

14. You're in Orlando and magically have a 1-hour ERT session on 1 coaster of your choice at any park in the city. You choose...

Space Mountain probably. I feel like I won the lottery when I sit in the front. My eyes water and I end up smiling when I hit the brake run.

15. Holiday In The Park vs. Winterfest. Who reigns supreme?

Haven’t done either, but I do love me Dollywood’s. Been the last couple years.

16. Mystic Timbers mystery shed or Wicker Man fire infusion?

Mystic Timbers was funny for me because I knew what to expect but I hyped it for my girlfriend.

17. Which Six Flags have you been to most recently?

Six Flags America 2017. Hoping to visit Great America soon though!

18. Intamin or Schwarzkopf? You may only choose one.

If one disappeared today I would likely miss Intamin more but it’s really close.

19. Battle of Kings Coasters: Island or Dominion? Pick one.

I’ll echo someone else. At night, Island. Otherwise Dominion by a small margin.

20. What was the longest you waited for a ride/coaster in 2018?

Probably Flight of Passage at a hair over an hour, getting in line just before park close.

21. What roller coaster have you ridden more than any other?

Oh, I’m sure it’s something at Kennywood. Likely Thunderbolt. That or Gemini which I rode 60 tines in one day at Coasting for Kids.

22. Best drop tower under 150 feet?

SratosFear at Knoebels.

23. Maverick or Millennium Force? (If you haven't been to CP, pick what you want to ride more)

Maverick without a doubt. Nimble and fun from start to finish.

24. Log flumes or sky rides? You can only choose one.

Log Flumes all the way. Splash Mountain.

25. What are 3 things you enjoying doing at your home park other than riding rides?

Enjoying a nice thanksgiving meal at the cafeteria or a golden nugget dip cone.

Bringing in a picnic lunch. Family had a long history of bringing in some delicious chicken and sides and sitting under the pavilions.

Enjoying or marching in the fall fantasy parade which I did in high school and college. The lights at night are just special.

26. What is your second favorite Cedar Fair park and why?

For me, it’s tough to decide between CP, KD, and KI 1, 2, 3. but I’ll give King’s Island #1, and then Cedar Point. The coasters at Cedar Point are definitely top tier, but the overall feel of Kings Island is better for me.

27. What is your home park and give us two good reasons why we should pay it a visit.

As it’s probably been made clear by now, Kennywood.

1. The solid balance of old and new. The cafeteria building is nearly original to the park, Kangaroo, Auto Race, Turtles, Noah’s Ark, and the three woodies counter the new so well.

2. Pittsburgh. If you’ve never visited, there’s a reason so many folks seem to stick around. Wonderful people, a huge food and beer scene and plenty of other things to do and see.

28. Launch or Lift?

I’m a woodie fan at heart, so I’ll go lift.

29. Did you buy fast pass at all in 2018?

I did not.

30. What is your least favorite wooden coaster?

This is kind of tough. It would be between Hurler at Carowinds, Predator at Darien Lake, or one of the two at Canada’s Wonderland.

31. Disney fanboys: cool or cult?

I think it’s probably possible to be a bit of both depending on who you’re talking to.

32. Best Batman themed ride?

Really no opinion.

33. Name something that you tend to take home from parks that you didn't bring with you.

Maybe a pin or something. Not too much souvenir shopping for me.

34. Best wooden coaster over 110 feet tall? (rcdb will help you)

El Tori, though I’ve not been on it for a while.

35. Have you ever been hit with something (loose change/a tree/vomit/etc) while riding something?

Lots and lots and lots of bugs at Cedar Point.

36. Skywarps: credits or no? State your case.

Nope. Definitely not. I have no case.

37. Turkey legs: nah or yaaaaassssss?

Never had one but probably yaaaas.

38. What is the most recent B&M that you rode?

Wild Eagle a month or so ago.

39. You can eat nothing but corn dogs, churros or funnel cake for the next 48 hours, which do you choose?

Funnel Cakes but I’m not big on any of them really.

40. Post a great on-ride shot of you from 2018. (DO IT!)

From Robb’s camera on Steel Dragon, a bucket list coaster for me.

White Lightning.

15. Holiday In The Park vs. Winterfest. Who reigns supreme?

Never been able to get to either.

16. Mystic Timbers mystery shed or Wicker Man fire infusion?

Wicker Man, never rode it, but the shed was lame.

17. Which Six Flags have you been to most recently?

It's been awhile but SFMM in 2014.

18. Intamin or Schwarzkopf? You may only choose one.

Dang...never hated a Schwarzkopf, but I'm gonna go with Intamin.

19. Battle of Kings Coasters: Island or Dominion? Pick one.

Been to Island dozens of times, and Dominion only once...but I'm gotta go with Dominion.

20. What was the longest you waited for a ride/coaster in 2018?

Yes

30. What is your least favorite wooden coaster?

It was Mean Streak, but now Apocalypse

31. Disney fanboys: cool or cult?

Don't follow them, or read into it, but hey they have a lot to be proud of with those parks.

32. Best Batman themed ride?

Batman: The Ride

33. Name something that tend to take home from parks that you didn't bring with you.

35. Have you ever been hit with something (loose change/a tree/vomit/etc) while riding something?

A hat.

36. Skywarps: credits or no? State your case.

No, neither are Larson Loops. First of all, who cares what your count is as long as you're still having fun riding. I consider a credit a traditional coaster, either gravity run or launch.

Yaaaaaasssssss

Valravn

1. Name 3 of your favorite roller coasters, but not your top 3.

Xcelerator, Indcredicoaster, Montu.

2. About how many different parks did you visit in 2018?

4 (so sad being in Arizona where I won't even visit the parks here to get a fix....because, let's face it...they are pretty horrible!)

3. Which 2018 park visit was your favorite?

Disney's California Adventure (Mainly the new offerings at Pixar Pier and finally riding Radiator Springs Racers and Guardians of the Galaxy)

4. Your favorite 2018 park addition (ride, food, show, etc)?

From what I went on....Guardians of the Galaxy at DCA.

5. What ride exceeded your expectations the most in 2018?

Guardians of the Galaxy. I was a little upset they changed Tower of Terror but after riding Guardians...I was so happy they changed it!

6. Best meal/food at a park in 2018?

Dole Whip!

7. What was your favorite new coaster of 2018 NOT made by RMC or Larson?

I'll be honest...I didn't ride any new coaster and I didn't really keep up to date on which ones were new this year. After seeing trip reports to Energylandia, I'd have to say the coasters there look AWESOME!

8. Name one park you will definitely visit in 2019.

Probably Legoland, California.

9. Best ride themed to a bird?

Batman. The super hero is themed to a bat so that means the coasters are themed to a bat and a bat is a bird that flies at night...duh!

10. Lamest ride/coaster you rode in 2018?

I didn't ride much but I will have to say Space Mountain at Disneyland. It was themed to Ghost Galaxy and I was very unimpressed with the crap that was inside. I couldn't see anything and the soundtrack was pretty lame.

11. What roller coaster currently sits at the top of your bucketlist? (degree of difficulty: NOT a new-for-2019 ride)

Steel Vengence because I need to get back to Cedar Point and ride ALL the rides i haven't ridden.

12. What new-for-2019 ride or coaster are you most looking forward to?

I have no idea on all the rides coming out but the one at Six Flags Magic Mountain looks interesting.

13. Name the first totally middle-of-the-road (not bad/not great) park that comes to mind.

Knott's Berry Farm.

14. You're in Orlando and magically have a 1-hour ERT session on 1 coaster of your choice at any park in the city. You choose...

Expedition Everest

15. Holiday In The Park vs. Winterfest. Who reigns supreme?

Not sure which one is which but I love Christmas Time decorations.

16. Mystic Timbers mystery shed or Wicker Man fire infusion?

Everyone loves fire and wood together!

17. Which Six Flags have you been to most recently?

Six Flags Magic Mountain...because it's the only one I've been to within the past 12 years

18. Intamin or Schwarzkopf? You may only choose one.

Both are unique in their own way. I love the old fashion quirkiness of Schwarzkopf but then i also love the insane things Intamin rides do to your body...

19. Battle of Kings Coasters: Island or Dominion? Pick one.

I enjoyed Dominion more when I went there back in 2001.

20. What was the longest you waited for a ride/coaster in 2018?

Stupid Full Throttle at SFMM...35 minutes.

21. What roller coaster have you ridden more than any other?

Probably something at SFMM because I went there the most out of any park when I lived in California. Either Revolution (because it never had a wait and it's been there the longest) or Goliath because I remember one time I visited I rode it 10 times in a row because no one was at the park.

22. Best drop tower under 150 feet?

Jumping off my roof into the swimming pool.

23. Maverick or Millennium Force? (If you haven't been to CP, pick what you want to ride more)

Maverick if I want a quick neck sprain and Millennium Force if I want wind burn on my face (yes, I got that from when I went during the Halloween event and rode the front row in 33 degree weather)

24. Log flumes or sky rides? You can only choose one.

Log Flumes every single time. I've ridden Splash Mountain when it's freezing outside! I will never ride a Skyride when it's freezing outside because you become more cold from being up in the air and open to the elements.

25. What are 3 things you enjoying doing at your home park other than riding rides?

What's a home park? I live in freaking Tucson, Arizona! My home park is technically Castles N Coasters...I've only been there 3 times and once was enough!

26. What is your second favorite Cedar Fair park and why?

Second favorite is Cedar Point. My favorite is Knott's Berry Farm because growing up in So Cal, I went there all the time and it has great memories!

27. What is your home park and give us two good reasons why we should pay it a visit.

How about you give me a reason to visit your park and even if it sounds crappy, i'll still visit there instead of my "home park"

28. Launch or Lift?

Launch...light speed to Endor.....

29. Did you buy fast pass at all in 2018?

I bought Disney's MAxPass for Disneyland Resort and it was well worth the money!

30. What is your least favorite wooden coaster?

Mean Streak...pretty sure that coaster was the reason I pulled a back muscle the last day of the trip while lifting my suitcase to travel home.

31. Disney fanboys: cool or cult?

They can be some really annoying mother effers

32. Best Batman themed ride?

The Batman ride at Parque Warner in Madrid.

33. Name something that tend to take home from parks that you didn't bring with you.

Souvenir Pennies. Every park I visit now with my boys, that is the souvenir we bring. Stuffed animals get disgusting and they lose interest over time, but the pennies last forever (or until I sell them on eBay!)

34. Best wooden coaster over 110 feet tall? (rcdb will help you)

Voyage

35. Have you ever been hit with something (loose change/a tree/vomit/etc) while riding something?

Water right in the eye while riding Ninja at SFMM and then the next day I had pink eye. Pretty sure it was more than just water......

36. Skywarps: credits or no? State your case.

If it's a credit, then every freaking carnival ride like that is a credit. The credit ho's can have them but I've stopped counting credits anyway.

37. Turkey legs: nah or yaaaaassssss?

Depends on where. Carnivals or fairs...Hell no. A well established theme park....Hell yes!

38. What is the most recent B&M that you rode?

Riddler's Revenger at SFMM

39. You can eat nothing but corn dogs, churros or funnel cake for the next 48 hours, which do you choose?

Corn Dogs (especially the ones from the place at DCA....for some reason that has been our go-to place for dinner when there.)

40. Post a great on-ride shot of you from 2018. (DO IT!)

IMG_1295.thumb.jpg.1731586a08914415edbc443a61a68241.jpg

I guess I was screaming too loud...the lady in front of me became deaf after this ride....

IMG_1292.thumb.jpg.69262cfa858ecdc712465647437ab205.jpg

Not an on-ride photo but I still loved the Oogie Boogie photo-op. I kicked his @$$ right after this was taken...

IMG_1293.thumb.jpg.567486f410362502d52f976861c23468.jpg

And then there was Zero....such a sweet and adorable little dog ghost
