^ I want - to tour - the steakhouses.

Some of the menus are pretty nice for the price.

in particular the Steakhouse at Circus Circus!. . it's one of our favorite restaurants on the planet.

here's the regular menu:

but w/ Restaurant week, ~$50 gets you: a main that retails for $95 ($45 petite Fillet + $50 crab legs topper).

not to mention any soup/salad (~$13) + a desert ($10-$14).

hell of a deal.

^That might be dangerous to your health depending on which buffet you chose to eat at!

Aria is my current favorite on the strip...an Indian food station!!!

We still love the one in Cosmopolitan (Wicked Spoon) as our choice for best buffet in town:

tho their prices have DEFINITELY gone up in the past couple of years.

Good to know! Amy doesn't care for Indian food but I love it so I'll definitely visit it. Also, how's the Bacchanal Buffet? Is it worth it?

that's the one at Caesar's, correct?

if yes, ew.

(a LOT of folks rave about it. . we thought it was super expensive for so-so food).

The other good Buffets in town we like are:

Mirage (decent to good food, cheaper than most of this quality)

Golden Nugget (downtown) on Fri/Sat -- Seafood Buffet

Rio (not the main buffet, but the Seafood one over in the Carnival in the Sky section of the Casino).

all others (except for Aria, and Cosmopolitan), you're tempting fate. .tho the view of the gardens at the Flamingo makesup for the poor quality food . . and the price is super-reasonable.

just my 2cents.

^I did Mandalay's over my recent stay and it was hit or miss. Some items were average (prime rib was good, but a little tough) and others were amazing (the Asian food section with good orange chicken, noodles, and gyoza).

I will be in Vegas twice this year. What are some of the must see or do things outside of the casinos and downtown?

as I tell everyone. . Absinthe, in the tent outside of Caesar's Palace. One of the best shows we've ever seen in Vegas.

intimate theater in the round.

US Bankruptcy Court has ruled that Caesars must face lawsuits from creditors and the stock immediately nose-dived. It's down about 40% right now with the company suggesting that it will join Harrah's (operating company) in bankruptcy as a result of this. One has to believe Bally's and Flamingo could be in trouble as a result.

I would not count on Flamingo or Bally's being willingly sold off. Caesars would have to be forced to sell before they let those go. Harrah's and Rio are the most likely candidates if it comes to Vegas, which I doubt. Don't forget Caesars owns over 50 casinos worldwide, I'm sure the small markets will go before they lose anything in Vegas.

Or they could just set something on fire and collect the insurance.

^I think it's going to be tied up in the courts for a LONG time. I doubt all these investors suing have much interest in settling for the smaller properties. In fact, that's already one of the accusations made: that all the valuable assets were shifted away from them. Bally's was one of the properties shifted to the company that Ceasar's was trying to protect.

Basically this whole thing is a lot of really rich people thinking they could outsmart each other and destroying a company in the process. It's impossible to keep up with all the accounting tricks they've tried.

This seems like the appropriate place for this...

So I finally rode the Slotzilla Upper Zoomline tonight thanks to their half price anniversary deal. Fun ride. Worth it at $20. Not sure it's worth the regular $40. The hour-long wait to actually fly is kind of ridiculous. My check-in time was 9:40pm and I finally zoomed at 10:50pm.

Anyway, worth doing once. (I also rode the original zip line when it was just a temporary structure).

I'll have to keep this in mind when I'm there next month staying at the Golden Nugget

Hopefully it's not a busy weekend when you stay there. I didn't get to park at the hotel (valet or regular) despite the fact I was staying there for EDC weekend because they were at capacity the whole time...
