Photo TR: Opening day Helix at Liseberg

So today I got to visit Liseberg for the press opening event of Helix.

 

This new Mack installation has some pretty impressive specs:

Top speed of 100km/hour

2 launches, 1,38km long

capacity of 1350 riders/hour

7 inversions and 3 weightless moments.

 

Great addition for the park, feels like it's spot on with their target group for this ride and i'm pretty sure it will provide the things they are expecting of it.

Fun, long ride which is very very reridable. Nice pops of airtime and inversion and it brings a smile to your face.

Phenomenal pics Hanno! Helix looks awesome. The Swedes appear to have a winner on their hands. Thank you as always for sharing your amazing photos! I have said it before, but the TPR day I spent at Liseberg in 2009 is still my all time fav park visit day, and I can't wait to get back there.

I certainly can tell this is not an American trip report, only 1 person I would even call overweight at all.

 

Are the restraints pretty accommodating or is like the old Intamin restraints?

This thing looks stunning

Wonderful pictures, Hanno! I love the layout of the coaster, and as well the architecture used for the queue! From the POV's I've seen, it looks like a top coaster for 2014.

As for Helix, does anybody know where the top speed is achieved? There are several fast moments in the ride.

Just one question, for those who've ridden Helix: how does the second launch feel? It looks like it gains speed but then closer to the end it doesn't seem to be accelerating much (as it's quite long). So I wonder how the forces feel.
