^ What's Geyser Gulch? I don't think I noticed it when I was there.

Just saw this. It's a four-story children's play area on the east side of the lake. Water splash pads, foam ball cannons, slides. Fun time for little ones.

City Museum is one of the craziest times we've had. There's just so much to do, we found ourselves having to move on before we were really done with an area just so we could see it all in one day. We shall have to go back again.

The roof is the most impressive part, but there are some fun things on the 2nd and 3rd floors as well. The 2nd floor has this skate park-like layout. We spent quite a bit of time in this section. After running after kids on the first floor for a couple of hours, it was nice to have an area that was a bit more contained. There's an aquarium on this floor too. On the third floor there is a dance studio and an art studio, where they give classes, as well as a funky old-time toy museum thing that looks like it was once a Twilight Zone set.

That place is truly one of the highlights of St. Louis. When any of you come to visit, you should definitely make this part of your trip. Photos don't do it justice; you just have to experience it.

Hey everyone! Today I'm taking you to Six Flags St. Louis!

We only spent a few hours at the park because we needed to drive up to Wisconsin, but a few hours was all we really needed. The morning started off with a fun back stage tour of Mr. Freeze which allowed us to go into the restricted area as well as the launch tunnel. After the amazing back stage tour, the park opened up American Thunder for our enjoyment. The park also went out of their way to walk us to Boomerang so we could be the first riders of the day! Anyways onto the photos!

Walking into the park, you get a great view of Bonzai Pipelines!

We waited at Mr. Freeze's AMAZING entrance for our tour guide.

This was a fun coaster. It had a nice amount of airtime and speed, while not being extremely thrilling. I thought it was perfect for this park.

For those who don't know. Boomerang was relocated from Six Flags Over Texas and given a new neon green and orange color scheme.

For a Vekoma Boomerang with really old trains, it was actually pretty fun!

After Boomerang, it was time to actually ride Mr. Freeze. I'm not sure why, but I liked this one much more than the one down in Texas.

Ninja was another ride I was really expecting to be much worse then it really was. I didn't think the ride was that rough. It had its moments, but it was a good ride overall.

Sadly we didn't have enough time for the parks Sky Coaster, but that's just another reason to go back to the park.

This was one of the coasters I thought was pretty underrated at the park. I thought this coaster has a great layout, great airtime, and great speed during the entire ride. I wish we had the chance to get some night rides on it because i'm sure they'd be great!

1185879_10152144124519392_372673476_n.thumb.jpg.5cbfdfecc55416a3cf943de76dc5a364.jpg

The park also had this beautiful ferris wheel!

Review

I thought this was a great little park. The park had a really nice atmosphere and charm to it.All the employees were extremely friendly and a few even went out of their way to help me when I accidentally dropped/lost my wallet in the bathroom as we were leaving the park. Thankfully I got it back with everything still inside, but it is customer service like that that makes you remember a great time at a great park.

The park also had a bunch of fun flats like Excalibur, which I've always wanted to ride when it was at Great Adventure, but never had the opportunity. The one thing I did notice about the parks ride line up was that it was missing a signature coaster, sure they have Mr. Freeze, Batman, and Boss, but I feel like it's still missing something. Also Boss needs to have some work done on it ASAP. This was one of those rides on the trip that looks like a ton of fun and I really wanted to love it, but I just couldn't.

Overall, I have a great time at the park and I can't wait to head back sometime within the next few years to check out the new additions like Tsunami Soaker and get my Sky Coaster and Superman credits! Thank you to everyone who helped make our time at the park as amazing as possible! =]

Questions

-Do you think the park is missing a signature coaster? If so, what would you want to see the park add in the next few years?

-What do you guys think about Boss?

-What is your opinion on the park?

As always, please make sure to comment letting me know your answers to the questions above and make sure to check back soon for a new update!

No if Screamin' Eagle counts. Something new from Gerstlauer would be great.

-What do you guys think about Boss?

It's a great ride as long as you ride it with the right position(avoid any body contact)

-What is your opinion on the park?

Nice but nothing really stands out to make it a top park. I really don't like their loose article policy though...

See the loose artical policy doesn't bother me because I'm so used to it at sfne and sfgadv.

I really think a new stand out signature coaster would really help the park stand out. From what I saw, they already have a pretty decent flat line up, a water park that looked like fun, and a bunch of fun coasters. Now all they need is something to get people to notice them.

Hi Kevin - been binge reading your reports and loving them. You just strike me as a super great guy and it would be great to hang out at a park sometime.

Anyhow - I think you are spot-on with your assessment of SFStL - the staff made it a great park! When I was there (also with TPR, but in 2010) it was SUPER FREAKING HOT, so I didn't get to do quite as much as I usually would since people in Hell were making fun of us that day.

Side notes: City Museum is one of the coolest places EVER

Please tell me you had Cinnamon Bread at Silver Dollar City. Food of the gods there.

Thanks David! If I ever go to Florida or if you're ever in the area, id love to hang out. I'm not sure if you remember but I briefly met you at bizarro bash at sfne in 2011. I was the employee that worked at the park that met up with nick.

Also yes I did have the cinnamon bread at sdc, it was amazing!

It is indeed missing a signature coaster. Its most major attractions, Mr. Freeze and Batman can be found at other parks, and Boss is considered by many to be a bad roller coaster. In order to stand out more in the theme park industry, it could use a hyper coaster, such as a large RMC (possibly bigger than SFGAm's Goliath) or a B&M Hypercoaster. I would also like to see a Chance Hypercoaster there just because they are nice rides, and I don't think there is enough of them

I have never ridden Boss so I don't know if it is good or not I have also never been to Six Flags St. Louis, but although I think Six Flags Great America looks better, I think Six Flags St. Louis looks great since it has some unique rides such as Xcalibur, Scooby Doo's Haunted Mansion, and American Thunder.

I agree. Most of what was controllable on the local level was good -- they definitely need a grade-A coaster though.

What do you guys think about Boss?

Love the layout, hate the roughness. It certainly wasn't as bad as Hades, but it would be hard to re-ride.

I wonder what "Taco Sucks" means?

?

Thanks for posting, Kevin!

As much as I would love the park to get a B&M hyper at the park, I just can't see it happening. I think a chance hyper would be the best choice for the park if they ever decide to go over the 200ft mark.

I'm sure it's been talked about before but personally I would love to see RMC redo Boss. The park as it stands has 3 wooden coasters, so to turn one of them into a steal wouldn't be the end of the world. This would also kill two birds with one stone by solving the roughness of the ride, while also giving the park the new signature coaster that it's currently missing.

LOL! That has to be it!

^ Either a re-do or just a Topper-Track treatment. The thing that struck me about The Boss is that it "should" have been amazing. It has a pretty interesting layout; however, the G-Trains suck and I thought to myself after riding, "my chiropractor LOVED that."

Screamin' Eagle is its signature coaster. I would like to see the park add more flats in the coming years. Tsunami Soaker looks like a lot of fun for everyone, and we're really looking forward to riding it the end of this month.

-What do you guys think about Boss?

I loved Boss early in its life, though in recent years it's become very rough, to the point at which it detracts from the fun of the ride. I hear that they re-tracked it in the offseason, though, so I'll give it a go again and see whether that's made an improvement. Boss's layout is amazing, and as long as the track is in peak condition, it's one of the best rides in the park.

-What is your opinion on the park?

Back in the '90s, it was my favourite Missouri park. Since then, it's fallen, due to improvements at SDC and WoF as well as a lack of meaningful additions to SFStL (Boomerang doesn't do anything for me). Still, it is fun, and has a lot of things for everyone. It doesn't cater to the littlest ones nearly as well as Worlds of Fun, or by any means to Silver Dollar City's level. But, you will have a good time at SFStL unless you're determined not to. It won't wow you, but it won't disappoint either.

Hey All! It's time for another update! Today I bring you to the Wisconsin Dells where we checked out two pretty fun parks, Mt. Olympus & Timber Falls. Neither park was anything I excepted it to be. Mt. Olympus is basically made of up of a few coasters coasters, a few go cart tracks, and a water park with a Sky Coaster in it. While Timber Falls is made of up an awesome wooden coaster, a pretty decent log flume, a mini golf course, and a Sky Scraper.

We started the morning off at Mt. Olympus with an ERT on Hades 360 and a surprise ERT on Little Titans!

I thought it was a tad strange that they didn't change this sign at all during the conversion.

As someone who works at a theme park, seeing that none of the coasters have any type of danger zone fences or restricted area fences kinda freaked me out a bit.

They also have an Upcharge Screamin Swing.

After getting our fill of the "aggressive" Hades, Sean and I decided to head over to Extreme World to find out what was going on with it. I guess all thats open over there now is a super sketch haunted house, a reptile house, and the bungee jumping. The SCAT Tower and Sky Coaster were both closed. They said they were in the process of selling it to another park, lets see if that happens.

Mt. Olympus's water park from across the street.

After the terror I endured at Extreme World, We decided to head back over to the Mt. Olympus to check out the other coasters the park had to offer. Be advised, I really didn't have much time to take many pictures of the park due to the fact that the Bungee Jumping took a good hour and a half of our day and we also didn't spend the whole day at the park. By the time we got back, the park was starting to pick up, and with one train operation and slow dispatch times, you could only imagine how long it must have taken to get on certain rides.

We saved the best for last, Cyclops. I knew people loved the last car of this ride for its ejector air, but I wasn't holding my breath. Jumping into the train and seeing that it was only a seatbelt and buzz bar made me a little nervous, but lets be serious, what in the dells didn't make everyone nervous. lol.

Bye Bye Hades 360!

Overall I enjoyed Mt. Olympus. It was a fun little park with what looked to have had a pretty good water park. Hopefully the park added some adult flats to the line up and keep working on retracking Hades.

Next we went to Timber Falls. Sadly I didn't have time to take photos at the park because it was a very quick stop and I was really tired from the night before. Avalanche was a great, fast paced little woodie that gave some great moments of air. The log flume was great. It interacted with many parts of the mini golf course, had a few caves, and got you pretty wet. We also checked out the parks Sky Scrapper which ran a pretty decent cycle.

Overall, I had a pretty good time at the park. We ran into a bunch of friendly ride ops, especially one who was operating the log flume, she was wicked funny! It had a few solid rides, and seemed to be pretty well maintained.

Questions

-Have you been to either park before?

-Do you have any horror stories from either?

-What do you think the parks could do to attract more of an audience?

-Hades 360, thumbs up or thumbs down?

-Cyclops, was it everything you thought it would be, or do you think it's overrated?

-What are your thoughts on Avalanche?

Thanks for reading! Now that I don't work during the week anymore, I should hopefully be posting more trip reports!

Nice TR, definitely brought back some memory and pain that would last for the rest of my life I only saw the SCAD tower, bungee jumping sounds really fun but I didn't know where it is

-Have you been to either park before?

Ouch, both

-Do you have any horror stories from either?

Hades360 still haunts me in my dream

-What do you think the parks could do to attract more of an audience?

Burn them to the ground and build a shopping mall with some high quality indoor coasters.

-Hades 360, thumbs up or thumbs down?

My thumbs were shaken off on it so I guess thumbs down.

-Cyclops, was it everything you thought it would be, or do you think it's overrated?

No, it can be much much crazier! People made it sounds like the most insane coaster ever but I think it's just because of the buzz bar. Those three drops are amazing but not exactly "hold on for dear life" crazy.

-What are your thoughts on Avalanche? The turns can use some serious retracting but there are some pretty sweet airtime nothing mind blowing though.

Questions

-Have you been to either park before?

Yes. I visited both parks this past July.

-Do you have any horror stories from either?

Timber Falls was empty and the employees didn't seem very interested in their jobs. The whole place was pretty sketchy.

-What do you think the parks could do to attract more of an audience?

Timber Falls needs a new something. And it also needs to be refreshed (lots and lots of paint). And Mt. Olympus already draws a big crowd anyways, so... I guess a steel coaster would help.

-Hades 360, thumbs up or thumbs down?

Thumbs up. Apparently it got retracked this past offseason, because the ride was pretty darn smooth. It's #4 on my wooden list.

-Cyclops, was it everything you thought it would be, or do you think it's overrated?

The airtime was effing awesome. It sits right behind Hades on my list. Short but super sweet is how I would describe it.

-What are your thoughts on Avalanche?

Rough rough rough rough rough. I was the only one on the train and it was just so horrible. It has a great layout (designed by Alan Schilke, of course) but the park just let it go it seems like.

Rough rough rough rough rough. I was the only one on the train and it was just so horrible. It has a great layout (designed by Alan Schilke, of course) but the park just let it go it seems like.

Wow this is pretty disappointing to read. I wonder what happened to the park since last season. Hopefully they step up their game for the 2015 season and make some improvements.

On a brighter note, I'm in the process of writing the Little Amerricka PTR! I'll post it either tonight or sometime tomorrow!

Hey everyone!

Today I take you to Little Amerricka!

Disclaimer!

Due to forgetting my Camera on the bus & my phone dying, this will be a small report!

I've remember when I was younger reading about this little Wisconsin park on this site and when they bought the Lincoln Park Comets trains a few years ago. Never In my dreams would I think I'd actually have the chance of actually getting the chance to come to the park. This was a surprise park on the tour! Only a select group people knew we were actually going to the park!

When we left Timberfalls, we were told we were going to drive a few hours, grab dinner, and continue our journey to Six Flags Great America. Because of lack of sleep, I almost immediately fell asleep on the bus. A little while later, I woke to Elissa talking over the bus PA saying soon we will be stoping for dinner at Little Amerricka, a park that has 4 credits! Before we knew it we were at the park. The park stayed open a few hours late and had the whole park to ourselves!

After taking photos in front of the entrance gates, we were free to roam the park. The park is a very small family park that has a lot of old school charm! The park is made up of 4 old school coasters that you don't just see at any major theme park and a bunch of old school flats. It's like they took a park from the 1950's and dropped it into the middle of Wisconsin!

Meteor is the parks junior woodie! While it has a old school design with its hand controlled breaks, it's actually the parks newest coaster.

The park has some pretty cool family rides mixed in with the old school rides. Like a mini parachute drop ride and a mini monorail!

They also have Wild & Wooly Toboggan!

This was the first toboggan i've had the chance to ride. I thought it was a decent ride for what it was.

They also had one of these really cool old school mouses!

Sean looks like he's having to much fun!

After getting all the credits, the park served us dinner of burgers & fries and then it was time to hit the road.

I personally had a great time at Little Amerricka. It's not every day you go to one of these great little amusement parks out in the middle of nowhere. It had a great atmosphere and great employees that went well out of their way to make us happy. I'd like to thank everyone involved in making our short time at the park one that i'll never forget!

Questions

-Have you ever been to the park?

-What did you think of it?

-Is there anything that stood out to you?

-Have you ever been on a Toboggan?

-If so, What did you think of it?

^ We went there this summer, and I loved it! Meteor is absolutely the most fun I've ever had on a roller coaster. It wasn't the coaster itself--although it is definitely above average--so much as the ride operator who made it so much fun. He was engaged with everyone in line, all the way to the end. The line moved a bit more slowly than if he had just gotten everyone in as fast as possible, but no one seemed to mind at all. I certainly didn't. The line was only about 30 minutes to begin with, and we were all having fun even while in line, so it just didn't matter at all. As for the other coasters, I was actually a bit disappointed by the toboggan. I came off feeling mostly "That was weird." In fact, all three of the coasters that weren't Meteor had jolting drops that should have been airtime hills; good coasters except for that moment of deep bone pain at the end.

The main flat ride we were there for was the parachute drop. I had never been on one of those. I rode it with my oldest daughter several times. I like that so many of their rides are equally enjoyable by adults and small children. They have plenty, including a monorail that goes over most of the park, a scrambler, and a tilt-a-whirl.

The real treat, though, was the train. It takes you back probably a couple of miles from the park, through some beautiful Wisconsin farmland. The ride lasts a very long time, and you even get to see some exotic animals, such as zebras.

In all, we were very glad we took the rather substantial detour when we went up to Chicago. Meteor alone would have been very much worth the trip out there, but the park as a whole has so much more to offer than that.

I really wanted to ride the parachutes at the park but i'm pretty sure it wasn't open when we went. I definitely would like to check the park out again one day if I'm ever in the area and ride some of the flats and get a few more runs on Meteor! It looks like i also gotta take a ride on the train if its as good as you say it is!

Hey Everyone,

Today I bring you to Six Flags Great America, the last of the Six Flags parks on the tour. Going in, I thought this park was going to have a big corporate concrete jungle feel to it. Thankfully it didn't! After all the years, the still managed to retain a lot of charm. This park differently met all my expectations. From Flash Passes for both the dry park and water park, to an AMAZING ert on Viper Backwards, we all had a great time at the park!

This park held a few firsts for me,

-First B&M Wing Coaster

-First Backwards Wooden Coaster

-First Double Decker Carousel

-First Schwarzkopf Jumbo Jet

-First time having a water park Flash Pass

Just as a heads up, I accidentally deleted a good amount of photos while failing to attempt to put them on Facebook, so sorry in advance! Enjoy!

Such a beautiful entrance plaza!

First things first, X-Flight. I read a lot of people say this ride was extremely boring. Honestly, I thought it was a great. It wasn't to forceless, it kept a decent speed, and had pretty great themeing and fly throughs.

I also loved how you could get really close to the ride for some great photos!

We had ERT on this in the morning and I was super excited to for it. Honestly , no matter how much I tried to like it, I just couldn't help the fact that it was so boring.

Atleast it looks cool though!

I love Intamin Impulse Coasters so I was really excited for V2. I was a little sad that the holding break is disabled, but I got over it as soon as I rode.

I also love Intamin drop towers. I was pretty sad Superman: Tower of Power was closed at SFStL so I got a few rides on this one to make up for lost time.

Iron Wolf's old station before Goliath was announced. I really wish I had the chance to ride it at this park. While I heard it wasn't a good ride, I guess its better then an empty coaster station on my visit. =P

This line looks so lonely.

Speaking of old abandon rides areas, This was interesting to see.

This was also very strange to me. While I guess it's a good Idea, I wish they would spend a little more money on it and make it decent. for example, expand the roof with the same type of material as the other, or just get ride of the old one completely.

I do admit from this angle it does look pretty good, but once inside. Yikes

I loved American Eagle. I just wish the line to get to the ride wasn't such a mess! I honestly felt like I was walking for 10 minutes going back and forth, up and down ramps, and up and down staircases. It was strange. Hopefully this area of the park gets a little bit of a re vamp in the next few years to make these very small issues better.

I'm not sure why, but I really love this sign at night.

I hope you guys liked my small update.

Questions

What is your opinion on Six Flags Great America? Do you like it or hate it? Why?

What are your thoughts on Raging Bull?

What do you think is the best flat ride at the park?

Does anyone know why they didn't get rid of all the antique cars track down by American Eagle?

Thanks for reading everyone, and make sure to check back soon for the last park on the Texas/Midwest Tour!
