I must say I'm surprised by the number of people who rank Goliath as Massachusetts's best coaster. I haven't been to SFNE but wasn't superman/bizarro supposed to be one of the best rides in the world or has it got bad in some way lately?

Note that a lot of these states I've ridden coasters in are from smaller parks, so that's why I have a few odd choices.

California: Journey to Atlantis - Sea World San Diego (I haven't been to a California Six Flags park)

Florida: Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit - Universal Studios Orlando

Illinois: X-Flight - SFGAm

Indiana: Raven - Holiday World (last time I visited was when I was 10. Way too scared to ride Voyage)

Missouri: Outlaw Run - Silver Dollar City

Ohio - Millennium Force - Cedar Point

Wisconsin - Cyclops

I rode Bizarro 4 years ago so it may have changed, when I do rode it it was great ! From what I've heard at several places S:ROS has gotten rougher and the overall ride experience decreased since it was transformed to Bizarro. Again, my last ride dates and I may not be the most reliable person on the subject, but that's what I think.

For me:

North Carolina: Carolina Cyclone

South Carolina: Afterburn

Virginia: Alpengeist

Georgia: Goliath

Florida: Kraken

(Keep in mind I hadn't been to Carowinds, BGW or SFOG since 2008 and KD since 1999 so if I were to go soon some of these may change.)

I'm glad to see I'm not alone. I figured I'd get called out for that actually.

First of all, I love Goliath. I know a lot of people don't, but being pulled backwards up that spike staring straight at the ground is awesome, and I actually find the ride to be pretty smooth. The fact that people are putting it first doesn't mean Bizarro is a bad ride, Goliath is just really good.

That being said, Bizarro isn't what it used to be and I can't believe it still gets voted #1 steel coaster as often as it does. I've been on about 250 coasters (which isn't a lot for this message board) but it's almost out of my top 20 completely. I like the ride, but the lap bars are extremely bulky and the restraint system is really uncomfortable for taller people. I wouldn't call the ride rough, it's developed a rattle but I don't mind that. I just think the "new" trains have awful restraints for taller people and seem slower than the old ones for some reason. I'm not sure if there's any truth to that, it just feels that way. It's also worth noting that none of the effects (including the mist that's been there since the coaster opened) are ever on.

This ride used to be my favorite coaster by far, but now I'm putting rides that I always listed behind it in front of it. For me there's no clear cut reason why this ride isn't as good as it used to be, it's a combination of a lot of things.

Massachusetts: Thunderbolt - SFNE

Good for you... this ride doesn't get nearly the respect it deserves. I'd put it behind Goliath and Bizarro but it's a ton of fun. I've probably ridden it hundreds of times over the last 10+ years and loved every ride I've ever had on it. Six Flags takes great care of this coaster.

California- California Screamin' (DCA)

Georgia- Goliath (SFOG)

Illinois- Superman Ultimate Flight (SGAM)

Louisiana- Jester (SFNO-SBNO)

Missouri- Outlaw Run (SDC)

Texas- Superman Krypton Coaster (SFFT)

I've been to many, many theme parks beside those listed, and have many other coasters that I've loved, so this was a hard decision...
