Rollercoaster Rider
Especially for something as lame as a El Loco
bert425
^^ as has been said, at the end of the day, it's still CircusCircus. (where "Inverter" is arguably the most popular ride in Adventuredome -- it was PACKED every day we were there). so yeah, El Loco will be a hit. Mr Stratosphere
I can report that the boats from Rim Runner have been moved/removed from where they were being stored. I wonder if they've been purchased by a park somewhere?
Mr Stratosphere
Just a quick photo update from Adventuredome today. The trough right after the station is completely gone and it is very odd riding Canyon Blaster without a wall there anymore. Enjoy! Lots of progress has been done to the start of the trough. Very odd riding the coaster and no wall being to the left of the track.
packfanlv
Thanks for the update John! I can't wait to ride the new coaster when it opens!
downunder
Nice update JP. Now if only they could jam Balder in there, then I'd move to Vegas.
Mr Stratosphere
For comparison, this was the same shot just two weeks ago. I really wonder how much space will be opened up once the Rim Runner is completely removed. Just this small bit of demolition has cleared up a lot of space. Maybe more of the ramps and bridges will come down too?
Mr Stratosphere
Nice update JP. Now if only they could jam Balder in there, then I'd move to Vegas. Now there is an idea! An indoor wooden coaster!
downunder
^I can't remember, did we ride Rim Runner just before it closed in January, I think we may have just taken photos. I know we did Canyon Blaster.
Mr Stratosphere
We did and as I recall you weren't too happy with being wet lol
Kyle Coleman
Nice update JP. Now if only they could jam Balder in there, then I'd move to Vegas. I for one fully support this idea.
downunder
We did and as I recall you weren't too happy with being wet lol That might have been in October at Fright Dome, I know I got absolutely drenched that time. It will be interesting to see what Fright Dome is like this year. I'm always amazed how they cram those mazes in there.
jray21
Thanks for the update! I do enjoy the construction updates. Looks like a pretty big area cleared out.
Mr Stratosphere
Hey everyone! Here is a short update from today at the Adventuredome. The area for El Loco looks to be completely cleared and most of the heavy machinery has been moved away.I will keep everyone posted on any future developments! Enjoy the photos! jray21
Time to let the construction begin! While they aren't my favorite rides, I think it will be a nice addition to the park.
Mr Stratosphere
Hey everyone! Here's a quick update from the park. Pike's Paas mini golf has reopened after a refurbishment and all I can say is that it looks great! Ill have to play a round next time I visit. Any signage that portrayed Rim Runner has now been removed. New park maps and new signage stating "El Loco Coming Soon!" It looks as though as demolition of the Rim Runner is complete for now. The drop, the runout and trough through the Passage of Time Has been removed. So now it looks as if ground (floor) work for El Loco would be next to start. 6 months to go! All of the heavy demo equipment is no longer on site. Looking forward to covering the construction of El Loco! Now onto the photos! Decided to get a bit artsy. Does anyone remember when a huge waterfall used to be here? And there were holes near the bottom where you could see Canyon Blaster wizz by. And you used to get a nice misting while on the coaster. Newly remodeled! Looks great! Coming soon! The fence in the Passage of Time has been moved back allowing for more walking space. Camouflage on part of Rim Runner's trough. Can't wait to see what fills this vacant space They've removed quite a bit of the vents to accommodate El Loco. For the HVAC fans out there Here you can see how far up this duct used to go. A couple of midway games, a snack bar and ticket booth have been removed/moved Edited May 20, 2013 by Mr Stratosphere

downunder
Thanks for the update John. I'll be interested to see what they do for Frighdome with extra space, it was a top-notch haunt last year.
packfanlv
^I could definitely see them throwing in an extra maze in that area! Of course with the construction going on until December, it may not happen this year. Either way it is great to see some progress at this long stagnant park! Thanks for the update John. Jew
Taking away HVAC? That will be fun in the summer! It's already stuffy in there sometimes.
Mr Stratosphere
Taking away HVAC? That will be fun in the summer! It's already stuffy in there sometimes. I think without the water and the added humidity in the dome it will be much better this time around! It already smells much much better in the park. But it is still hot at the top of the dome, you can definitely feel the temperature difference at the top of Canyon Blaster's lift.
