If you needed to find a bar, the gas lamp district in San Diego is the place to be!

The hotel with the nice Xmas lights is also historic: it was built by Ulysses S. Grant's son.

^ That was a hotel? We walked right by it (obviously) and just thought it looked cool, didn't even bother to see what was happening on the inside. Oh, well...

Cool pics of Arizona and San Diego. I totally forgot about Fry's Food Stores. It was my favorite supermarket chain when I visited Arizona years ago. The logo looks very similar to the Fry's Electronics so I wonder if they have the same ownership. I've never been in a Fry's Electronics though as they are none in Central CA.

Did you also go to the Zoo and/or the Wild Animal Park while in SD? I don't go to SD very often but every time I've gone there I've gone to Sea World, San Diego Zoo, and the Wild Animal Park or some combination of the three. The Gaslight District was a really nice downtown area last time I went to SD. I also enjoyed taking the train from SD to the border and walking over to TJ.

^ I've been to the SD Zoo a few times before but have yet to visit the Wild Animal Park. It's high on our list of things to do, though!

Awesome pics of your trip. Love the pics of AZ but the Sea World pics were absolutely amazing.

The Wild Animal Park (I think now called the San Diego Zoo Safari Park) is a must visit. I actually liked it better than the San Diego Zoo.

I'll always call it the Wild Animal Park. Not some pathetic name they gave it recently.

I agree. I still call it the Wild Animal Park just like I will call the Angels the "Anaheim Angels" and not the ridiculously long "Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim".
