Awesomely catchy 80s glam rock. Inspired by Ramones, the Clash, Chuck Berry-style 50s and 60s rock 'n' roll, and various 70s glam stars. I discovered them through hair metal, but it doesn't matter whether you love or hate that style. They're definitely a completely different form of rock, but you can tell that they influenced later bands.
For glam, I also love New York Dolls, Slade, and Mott the Hoople. For hair metalz I especially love Cinderella, not to mention standards Motley Crue and Guns 'n' Roses.
Ok, I already posted here a while ago, but here's my more extensive list. Apart from my recent dance music favorites Finnebassen, Luciano and Jamie Jones, I like : The Ramones Paul Weller/The Jam/Style Council Joe Jackson Air Deadmau5 Pink Floyd Bad Company Rush Yazoo Echo & the Bunnymen the Waterboys Incubus Heart Carl Cox Metallica the Smiths Swedish House Mafia the Cure Tori Amos Tool Serge Gainsbourg Jefferson Airplane Nick Drake Nick Cave Fleetwood Mac Van Morrison Janis Joplin Tom Waits the Mama's and the Papa's Prince Fats Domino Fad Gadget Pearl Jam the Velvet Underground Muse Leonard Cohen Body Count Public Enemy Gary Numan Joy Division Front 242 Sex Pistols New York Dolls Dead Kennedy's Dropkick Murphy's Squeeze Johnny Cash Underworld Radiohead Daft Punk the Damned the Who David Bowie Nightwish Aerosmith Queen Herman Brood etc
There are a lot of bands that I love, but out of everything (and after going through my iTunes library), here are the ones I would consider my "favourites". Basically, they're the bands I would never skip if they came to town (well, maybe not the dead ones). Plus, handy links for song examples!
