Splashchute at Sea Paradise Japan Closes

Kind of a bummer though as it really was the last remaining boat chute rides that many US parks used to have back in the 1900's. It wasn't an intense ride, but was something that had to be ridden because of the history behind it. It wouldn't surprise me if it closed due to popularity as it never had a line when I visited and only ran one side.

From my 2017 visit. You had to walk up to the top of the stairs and board the boat between the two ramps.
20180913_162012.jpg
Riders would board the boat, tighten their seatbelt, then a roulette board is spun to determined how wet you would get from the water cannons that would shoot off when you splash at the bottom.

An attendant would stand on the front of the boat during the drop and then guide the boat to a separate unloading dock with a pole at the bottom. They would then hook the boat up to a towing system and take it back up to the top of the ramp.

Why do I still have a donkey title???

While on the subject of this park, they removed the dolphins from the pedalo boat attraction too for the health and safety of the animals.

I don't believe I even knew about this (which almost made me question if I've really been to Sea Paradise, but I remember only caring about a couple rides there). Sounds like a neat little water ride; your write-up in particular makes it seem like it was pretty cool!

Dang!!! This was always one of those “I can’t wait to ride that when we are there” rides! - I didn’t expect it to close so soon :(

Made me feel sad. I haven't even tried to ride it. Too bad it closed so soon. It seemed like a pretty fun ride though. Good read.

Second bummer for many of us.

First was when they stopped the 'boat jumpers', and now fully closing the ride.

Look how high he goes!!!!

And of course they would then bow to their boat of guests and guide them back to the shore.

Were they not boat jumping last year? I just missed the last ride of the night, but the there was a guy riding on the front of the boat when it was returning to the top platform.

^They no longer were allowed to jump from what we heard/saw. They just stood there.
