A Tender Tennessee Christmas

Recommended Posts

I just got back from four days in Tennessee, and it was amazing.

Since my husband and I both have off for Christmas, we decided to get away for the holidays. We stayed at Dolly's Dream More resort, and it was great.

The park is beautiful at Christmas, there are a ton of shows, and the food is awesome.

We got to ride everything we wanted, including Lightning Rod three times. Even got a ride on the new Rocky Mountain Coaster in Pigeon Forge. It is located less than a mile from Dollywood!

Enjoy the pictures!

The trains with no front on them. Amazing ride!

Great pictures!

If you've ridden the other mountain coasters in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area, how does this one compare?

This was my 1st mountain coaster so I really cannot compare it to others. I do know it was LONG with 4 lift hills. And the scenery was great. You can even see Wild Eagle from the top of one of the highest points.

absolutely wonderful report, thanks so much for sharing.

my Spouse and I tried to make it work for Dollywood in 2018, and just could not get it to line up (the thing that killed it really, was how difficult it seemed to actually get TO the resort from any airport -- I even spoke to a representative on the phone to confirm they don't have any kind of shuttle service to the resort from an airport. Heck, I'd pay for that no question, but they don't offer it and even the representative I spoke to admitted they get asked that "all the time").

so how did you do the logistics of your trip? can you share, so maybe we can do similar in 2019?

ie: what airport did you fly into? car rental? (or did y'all just drive the whole way).

was it easy to navigate to the resort? parking fee onsite?

I'd love to know any details you can share about that, John.

and again, love the pics! looks like y'all had a fantastic time.
