I was on my way home and had a layover in Zhanjiang, so I went to Sanlingshan Forest Park. This park is a few miles away from the city and is out in the country. It is amazing how different the area is just a few miles away from the city center. It is very poor. The area around the park was very dirty. The park itself is pleasant enough and has a collection of rides. Rides are 20 RMB each (about $3 USD) 80 RMB for a pass that allows people to ride each ride once. There is a jungle mouse coaster here called Jungle Flying Squirrel. It became coaster #1147 for me to ride and Sanlingshan Park became park #586 for me to visit.
I'll be so disappointed if these photos don't turn out to be Wade Shows website jpegs. Kidding, kidding.
I never root for people or places to seem poor and dirty, but less than ideal places can make for interesting trip reports. From a glance, it looks like a pop-up "rides in the grass" sort of park. I doubt I'll ever get to these obscure Chinese parks, but I enjoy checking out reports from them. You have a lot of coasters and parks under your belt, so I hope we'll get some cool trip reports in the future, too. Welcome!
