New Extreme Speed Slide on Tap for 2005 at White Water Bay; Mega-Wedgie to Challenge OKC Thrill Seekers

Date : Thursday - March 03, 2005

OKLAHOMA CITY, March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- White Water Bay to introduce the newest extreme speed slide to Oklahoma when Mega-Wedgie opens at Oklahoma City's favorite water park. Mega-Wedgie stands over six stories tall and offers White Water Bay guests zero gravity thrills along with a bird's eye view of the OKC metropolitan area.

Thrill seekers can challenge the 277-foot long speed slide that features a breathtaking 64-foot free fall into the cool water below.

"Mega-Wedgie is an extreme speed slide that will be a great complement to our existing rides and attractions at White Water Bay," said Scott Maupin, vice president and general manager. "Mega-Wedgie is just another reason to make White Water Bay your official summer retreat."

Mega-Wedgie joins many extreme water rides and attractions at White Water Bay including: Bermuda Triangle, a trio of extreme intertwining slides; The Big Kahuna, a giant raft ride that carries up to four people down a twisting turning mammoth slide; The Kid's Cove, an exclusive kids area; Monsoon Lagoon, a 500,000 gallon wave pool; and Castaway Creek, a relaxing river oasis.

Guests can double their summer fun with a Frontier City and White Water Bay season pass. Buy your 2005 double park season pass for a limited time for only $59.99 at or call 405-478-2140 for more information.

White Water Bay opens weekends beginning May 21, 2005, with the debut of Mega-Wedgie. White Water Bay is open daily starting May 30th through August 21st and weekends only August 27th through September 5th.

Great name for a waterslide :)
Those things are a bit on the painful side though for those who have ridden semi-vertical slides. It feels like a garden hose being sprayed full blast on your back along with having "crackers." (AKA thongified shorts)

Great name but honestly the actual ride doesn't sound that special... Gotta love waterslides though...

Is that a giant golf ball?
