Does Joker usually run 3 for Holiday? SFNE ran their's at fill capacity. Granted it's the star attraction at SFNE this time of year.

This is the first year I've seen them do it. That said, the ride always sh*ts itself by the end of the event when it gets really cold. Maybe the operational changes are related to that? If it's just a desire to keep the ride units in motion as much as possible and not stacked on the brake run in the cold I could see the benefit.

... or they just want to get a jumpstart on refurb.

I'm amazed by all the problems by the one at Great Adventure. SFNE's ran just fine in the cold last year.

I think Great Adventure's Joker has been closed on all but 1-2 of my visits since it opened.

To be fair, New England also has heaters in the station pointed at the wheels. Great Adventure doesn't use heaters on any of it's coasters.

^ That's surprising, but would explain it. I assumed New Jersey would have them too.

That takes serious cahones running a hyper coaster without heaters in December.

Excellent trip report and great pics! Thanks for sharing! Looks like they went all out for Christmas this year. Love what they did to the carousel and the giant walk through snowman.

Which came first the turtle or the donkey?

Holiday in the Park looks great!

Any idea if the theater show is the same one as they did for Halloween but with different music and costumes? Your description sounds the same.

Apparently we're getting the coldest Thanksgiving temperatures in over 100 years. I dont think the rides can handle 15 degrees???

The park is closed that day anyway. Also, you’re looking at the low temperature which is generally reached in the middle of the night if at all.

Not to mention Nitro has run at 19 degrees. I think we could push it down to 15 if we really tried.
