Is it really that unexpected? I feel like once every decade or so Six Flags buys a bunch of parks, then sells a bunch of parks, then buys more parks, closes some parks, buys more... This has been happening for many, many years even as far back as when they bought parks like Magic Mountain and Great Adventure.

I don't have the time to do the research now because I have many better things to do with my time, but I'm sure someone could draw up a pattern over time between their buying and shedding of parks over the years...

1. Economy is doing good
2. Remove water-rides at your hottest parks
3. Buy a bunch of new parks
4. Remove trees at your hottest parks
5. Economy collapses
6. Remove more water-rides and trees at your hottest parks
7. Sell a bunch of parks

SIX has had solid earnings and given a really good dividend, but yeah I'm not telling anyone to buy their shares. The only thing you need to know is that you shouldn't buy SEAS.

Does it make anybody else kind of happy to look at the RCDB pages for Frontier City and Darien Lake and see Six Flags as the operators? I'm actually really excited to see what happens to these parks.

I'm surprised the Geauga Lake fanboys haven't tried to get SF to buy it back :lmao: .

Do we think Premier will move corporate headquarters out of Oklahoma City as a result of this?

A valid question, but does anyone not working for Premier in OKC really care about the answer?

This was honestly one of my very first thoughts as I could see people still not able to get over the fact that the park is gone.
