Went to DHS today with my buddy Torin. Crowds were more than I was expecting, but they were still small. I finally got on Toy Story Mania, and I thought it was great. Really fun ride, but I don't see myself waiting an hour+ for it. We waited about 40 minutes to ride. Coaster and Tower had 15 minute waits consistently.
-Coaster was running really bad today. Lots and lots of Vekoma-ing. Also, they were only running 2 trains.
-Tower had some great CMs today. They were really in character.
-On our first ride on Tower we rode the right side and noticed an elevator waiting to go up to the loading area. When we went on again we realized they closed that side down right after us.
-Great Movie Ride was only running the back half (gangster half).
-Mr. Potato Head dropped his ear! We were waiting in line and I noticed he took his ear off, which I heard he hasn't done it much lately. Then I heard something drop and he was just standing there, no ear in hand or head, just looking around until a CM came and put it back in.
We parked close. 1-19 is CM parking only.
I'm pretty sure I didn't take this picture. I have absolutely no memory of it.
The sign is just too damn big to fit in one picture. It's not my fault, I swear.
Torin's sister's boyfriend was working today, so we stopped in to say hello.
There's no excuse for this to be blurry.
The lights are already going up. One half of the street is pretty much covered.
There was absolutely no moychindice in this store. I plan on writing a letter to the Better Business Bureau.
They're still doing some what-have-you to the Muppets balloon.
Then we went on A Tribute To All Nations But Mostly America.
You give the Pixar characters an inch, they take a mile. Exhibit A: Cars meet and greet OUTSIDE of Pixar Place.
Here's I B SAD's headquarters.
We then headed over to Hanes: The Experience.
Even for the tiny wait, we opted for the single rider line. Why not? We were in and out in under 10.
A marble door? How deliciously absurd!
I was told there would be animal carvings on the tree here.
We didn't learn our lesson with Millionaire, apparently.
"Great" Movie Ride time.
This ride will really knock your dick in the dirt. I don't actually think that's a saying.
Andy's mom went 2-prong. Poor decision.
Hi I'm Woody. Howdy howdy howdy!
Clearly Mr. Potato Head has bribed the police. He's standing right there, people!
I like that one of his tricks is remaining perfectly still. That Imagineer needs a promotion.
Fallen-off ear shot. Read the blurb at the top for the story.
Here's a better shot.
This shot was taken about 1 second after the CM went away.
Then it started to rain.
And rain. We decided to pack it in. We did pretty much everything anyway. In other news, my camera is dry. Have a good evening.
Torin and I went to AK and Epcot. We had a nice time. We left AK after riding Everest because of the crowds. I decided to shoot in RAW today, and boy was that a mistake. The pictures turned out nice, but they're way too hard to deal with. To see the pictures in a less compressed manner, visit my Picasa kajigger.
-Animal Kingdom was crowded for this time of year: half hour waits for Dinosaur and the Safaris, 40 for Everest.
-Epcot was dead. 30-40 minutes for Soarin', 20 for Test Track, 10 for Mission Space.
-We did some new Innoventions stuff: Stormstruck and that recycling thing. They were really good. We were thoroughly impressed.
-The angler fish in Nemo wasn't working.
-I promise to do a non-WDW update one of these days.
This update consists primarily of nerd shots.
This tree was disappointing. I didn't see any 3 dimensional movies inside of it.
I see you, rogue Coke ad!
I tried getting a picture of this shrine, but this mountain in the background wouldn't budge.
Suck it, temple area! It's a god damn festival day!
I'm sorry I got mad at you. Are we friends again?
Primeval Whirl is being refurbished to make it better for enjoying.
Here's a closer look.
Here's an even closer look. Notice the missing track.
Here's the closest look. Notice the missing track up close.
In prehistoric times, it was customary to hang your car bumpers up and put ceramic dinosaurs on them.
Then we fled the crowds.
Here's a picture I planned on putting at the beginning of the update, making it seem like I didn't forget to take it when we walked into the park.
Here's Torin pointing at a license plate instead of a humorous bumper sticker.
You can't escape the parking lot photos.
I must caption every photo.
First stop, Looving with the Loond.
That looks dangerous.
Is your smeller broke? It smells like peppa up in here!
They're potentially finally adding something to this ride.
We were very proud of our grade on the quiz when waiting for Turtle Talk.
It was time to go Soarin'. Oh boy do I hate myself for saying that.
No problem, boss!
Taste Truck had a short wait.
This is when you go fast.
We were going 592 mph at this point.
PUSH IT. HARDER.
Spiceship Arth was our last ride of the evening.
The Epcot Egg sure is neat.
This is more of a shot of how steady my hand is than anything interesting.
Today Andrew (Swimace) and I took a trip to Cypress Gardens and spent a little bit of time at MK and an even littler bit at DHS. Crowds weren't bad at MK, and would've been dead if we got there before they let the MNSSHP crowds in. We waited about 15 for Splash and 10 for Space, walk-on for Buzz. The rest of the story will be told in the pictures. Also, check out Swimace's TR when he posts it.
I couldn't think of a more appropriate way of beginning this than the portable bathroom at Cypress Gardens.
Okay, this comes REALLY close.
This was a bad omen.
Believe me, you don't have to ask. They'll remind you about 10 times before you leave.
Modern technology is bullshit!
Here's where you see where The Starliner goes into its show building.
"She said 'Okeechobee.'" "She's okey-dokey."
Holy balls I took a lot of pictures of this ride. I'll spare you the scrolling.
Clerks: The Ride.
3 out of 4 hurricanes agree that this ride exists.
So here we were waiting for The Swamp Thing, and the ride operator was just sitting there...
Until the Power Surge ride op came over to operate it with her. WHAT?!
There's our pal Andrew.
I hope you didn't forget what Andrew looks like, because you're about to get a fist full of him.
Here's the The Swamp Thing zero car.
I wonder if the person making the sign questioned whether to put the word "enjoyment" on it.
What's not to love about this park? Oh. I think I need to rephrase that.
This is obscene. I was so offended I didn't take any pictures of us leaving!
Oh my. That's much better. Time to relax.
OH MY GOD GET OUT OF THE WAY. THIS IS HORRIBLE.
OH MY GOD WHERE ARE WE? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?
IS THAT A ROBOT? THAT'S A ROBOT, ISN'T IT?!
IT HAS INFECTED THE MAIN BUILDING. SOMEONE SEND HELP.
I...I'll be right back.
Oh my. That's much better. I guess we're in the Magic Kingdom now.
I sure learned my lesson.
Isn't this delightful? They use these very same vegetables in many of the restaurants in Epcot!
This isn't such a good neighborhood...Lots of...Y'know.
Jumpin' million-dollar rabbits...
We got wet some.
It sure is, Japanese rising sun!
Your cadaverous paler portrays an aura of foreboding.
So does his.
This ride orbits astros!
Oh sure, don't blur the photo that would be amazing blurry. Thanks, camera!
Not For Sale wrote:I met the management of Waldameer way out of the blue. They were walking over the Splash Mountain bridge and I saw their Waldameer polos so I stopped them and said hello and how awesome RF2 was on the Behemoth trip. They also found out today about their Golden Ticket. They seemed happy.
Curious. On the Waldameer website's blog that they were looking at a potential new ride for Waldameer on this trip. Don't suppose they gave any hints on what they were looking at?
Waldameer is quickly becoming a favorite small park of a lot of people and we're all anxious to find out what they're getting! lol
