Europa Park Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

Hey everybody!

This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at Europa Park, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of the park as well as past updates, see TPR's Park Index Page.

Below are some links to past updates from the park, you may be interested in. Enjoy!

Original Post:

The new attraction of Europapark open the 19 but was open for press and VIp the 17th.

This Water Coaster / Splash will be placed in the new Portugal area. This year, opening of the splash, rest of the area will be built for 2006 with another new attraction (an indoor attraction .. dark ride ?) and another part of the queue line of Atlantica.

For this pre-opening, the attration dont have water fall like Journey To Atlantis at SW Orlando and the boats will be arm with a system to do more huge wave.

IMO, it's a boat ride...probably the BEST damn looking splashdown boat ride I've ever seen! But there's nothing about it that makes me say "That's a coaster." I mean, Splash Mountain also has all those elements, and it's not a coaster....

I have seen these pictures a few days before. It is a "Mack" water coaster. I think it looks a little bit like a lower version of the Journey to Atlantis attraction! However, I think that attraction makes a lot of fun. I will ride Atlantica SuperSplash this summer.

Cool, since all rides come from Mack(with the exception of Silver Star), would this be the company's first dark ride?

It looks like it has an Atlantis theme, so maybe it will have a water feature some how worked into it.

Abenteuer Atlantis (Atlantis Adventure) is the new interactive dark ride at Europa-Park where visitors can dive down into the deep sea since the 2007 season. It is located at the Greece area of the park and it was built by MACK Rides.

You can find a english review of the attraction at lifthill.net with some technical details, construction pics and an interview with Michel den Dulk, the designer of Europa-Park.

Looks great and I like how it appears to have a continous cycle of cars compared to most non Disney dark rides where each car is loaded seperate and has horrible capacity. I wish all dark rides were like that.

It isn't very often i slate Europa, but this ride is a waste of time.

I found it VERY short, uninspired and frankly bland.

Tomb Blaster at Chessington, Buzz at Disneyland Paris - even Duel at Alton Towers is probably better.

Atlantis Adventure needs a lot more until it matches Europa's usual high standards.

I though it was a let down.

Yeah for "Oversized Lava-Vomiting Crab" !!!!!

*Imagines a grandpa telling his grandchildren about how he met the Oversized Lava-Vomiting Crab in Europa Park's Abenteuer Atlantis when he was young and how it was the funniest/creepiest thing he'd ever seen in his life!*

This ride looks fun, but it looks like something you might find at Morey's Piers.(see PTR from Robb and Elissa's trip in '04) Europa Park looks like a really nice park, but from the photos, this ride seemed really rushed.
