Haven’t posted for ages. Robb, it seems those were created by the guy or company which rethemed Dreamcatcher (ex Air Race), and he posted his drawings on his website as « free creation » well before anything was decided themewise. The park is no longer in collaboration with this company and whether or not the concept arts have been retained by the park management remains to be seen

Not « fan » made. The guy who designed them actually used to WORK for the park, and these were sketches before they ceased collaboration. Probably those concepts were not retained after his contract with the park went to an end

Bobbejaanland reveals name, theme and designs of new launched coaster

150219legend3.jpg

The new launched roller coaster of Bobbejaanland gets an impressive theme. The Flemish theme park is building a spectacular 43 meter high roller coaster this winter with three launches. Today Bobbejaanland announces how the attraction will look like. The name of the roller coaster is also revealed.

The triple-launch coaster is named Fury. According to the accompanying story, visitors start a "fiery battle" with the dragon Fogo. During the ride, they are launched forward, backward and forward with a top speed of more than 100 kilometers per hour. In doing so, they travel through four inversions.

Fury will be located in the new themed area Land of Legends, where the existing roller coaster Typhoon and giant frisbee Sledge Hammer can also be found. "This will be the first themed area in Bobbejaanland with a real total experience," says Bobbejaanland director Yves Peeters. "It is the largest investment in the history of our park, and I am convinced that we are putting something legendary here."

Four elements
The story behind the themed area revolves around the Guardian of Elements. That is a patron who created the Land of Legends somewhere on our planet to protect the four elements of nature - earth, water, fire and wind - against evil forces. Although he closed the four different realms with gates, the danger is always in wait.

In the themed area of 20.000 m², each attraction represents a different element. "Visitors become part of the story themselves." Drawings show how the terrain around the rollercoaster is decorated with a large number of mythical figures, bridges, water features and lots of greenery. There will also be a new water playground - Naiads Waters - where the huge water hose Uvù is the service.

Immense dragon
Bobbejaanland called in the Dutch Leisure Expert Group for the designs and the storyline. The station building of Fury looks like a mysterious castle. In addition to the bright red track, an immense dragon rises. The Flemish writer Mathilda Masters developed the concept into a complete story. The German company IMAscore provides the music.

Fury is 600 meters long, but thanks to the triple launch, passengers will be laying a total of 830 meters. A switch ensures that two trains can stand on the track at the same time. There will be 2 trains, each holding 12 passengers, resulting in an hourly capacity of approximately 680 passengers. The coaster of the German company Gerstlauer opens in June.

I'm in shock. This is quite unexpected from Bobbejaanland. I love the concept with the 4 realms entree points and that the entree for both Typhoon and Sledge Hammer get moved. Typhoon's entree was never badly placed but replacing it there makes it better in my opinion. Sledge Hammer however had a bad place overall, the ride was there behind the treeline, quite hidden and far from a main pathway, placing that entree next to three other rides makes it feel less hidden.

About the two new attractions. Naiads Waters seems so out of place here. :lmao: Here we have wind represented by Typhoon the parks biggest thrill coaster to date, Earth by Sledge Hammer the parks biggest thrill flat-ride to date and Fire by Fury what seems to take Typhoon's spot as the parks biggest thrill coaster. Then we have water represented by Naiads Waters a water playground. I just find that funny, but a welcome addition to the park.
Then Fury, I already wanted to revisit the park just knowing the lay-out of the coaster. It seemed like another solid ride to add to Bobbejaanland and I had a great excuse to reride Typhoon, what isn't a world class coaster but a lot of fun none the less, But seeing this I'm fore once excited to revisit the park, they not only add this solid ride but update the queue's for my two favorite rides in the park. I'm looking forward to April and see (pictures) of what the park has done so far to realize this and to June when I get to vist the park myself.

Bobbejaanland has sent us a press release announcing the name of their new attraction and the new surrounding themed land, the Land of Legends!

landoflegends_fury.jpg

In November last year, the amusement park in Lichtaart announced that it will open a new spectacular roller coaster in 2019. This is a triple launch coaster, which means it is launched three times during departure. It will be more than 40 metres high and reach speeds of more than 100 km/h. The new attraction will extend the park and also be the centrepiece of a new thematic zone called ‘Land of Legends’.

Cowboy Town celebrated its fortieth anniversary last year. The zone, featuring attractions such as Forbidden Caves, Mount Mara and Naga Bay, was named Adventure Valley in 2015. “However, the Land of Legends will be the first thematic area within Bobbejaanland that offers visitors a complete experience,” says Yves Peeters, general manager of the park, with some pride. “It’s the biggest investment ever made in the park’s history, so I’m convinced that we’re doing something legendary here. After all, we’re going much further than simply building a new roller coaster. Bobbejaanland icons, such as Typhoon and Sledge Hammer, will also play a role in the 2-hectare zone.”

The Guardian of Elements creates the Land of Legends
The Guardian of Elements created the Land of Legends in a far-off corner of our planet. The sole purpose was to preserve the four elements of nature in their purest form. To protect against evil forces, he closed off the four realms with gates. What he did not know, however, is that evil had been lying in wait for a long time and the realms were being threatened from within. Each attraction in the zone represents a different element.

The Land of Legends will open to the public in June and anybody visiting Bobbejaanland will then personally become part of the story. The Guardian will only succeed in driving away the evil forces with the help of visitors. “In the new roller coaster, for example, you will enter into a fiery battle with the dragon Fogo. That is why the attraction is getting the suitable name Fury,” explains Peggy Verelst. “The story was written by Mathilda Masters, author of various popular children's books.”

Fury and the Land of Legends will open sometime in June. The exact date will be decided later. The complete story about the origin of the Land of Legends can be found at bobbejaanland.be/landoflegends.
