Fårup Sommerland Discussion Thread

Postby robbalvey » Fri Jul 08, 2005 10:07 pm

Hey everybody!

This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at Fårup Sommerland, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of the park as well as past updates, see TPR's Park Index Page.

Below are some links to past updates from the park, you may be interested in. Enjoy!

(7/8/05) A local paper reports that the lift chain on Falken snaped last night causing the train to slide backwards slightly before the emergency braking system caught it and allowing for what was left of the chain to slide down and pile up at the front of the train, spattering the riders in the front with a little oil and grease. There were no reported injuries.

Damn, that's a bummer. That ride was very good!

I hope they get it back up and running soon!

Eh, doesn't sound too major. While it's odd that the chain snapped, there were no injuries or anything, and all they'll have to do it re-track a new chain and get it inspected.

Do you know where your wife is?

It happens on coasters all of the time! It's just a metal chain...there are weak points.

Elissa 'it's usually pretty loud when they snap too!" Alvey
