As part of the media event of Outlaw Run I was invited to a dinner cruise on the Showboat Branson Belle, and I have to admit my gay side here...THE SHOW WAS GOOD! Yes, I admit it. I was treated to the VIP table as they had one seat available (It pays to be single sometimes!) and was offered my choice of entrees and chose a perfectly cooked Mahi-Mahi and a chocolate desert that was out of this world.

The show called "Made in America" features magician and comedian Christopher James as the show's MC, the singing group The ShowMen, and aerial violinist Janice Martin, and yes, she really does play the violin in the air while twirling around on one of those sheet looking things. Christopher was a huge comedy hit as an equal opportunity insulter, just my style. The ShowMen were well rehearsed and Janice didn't do so bad herself, afterall she was dangling from the ceiling and all ;)

Cruises run daily with a few exceptions through December. More information can be found at www.showboatbransonbelle.com

Looks like I'm going on a riverboat cruise.
Showboat Branson Belle 005.JPG
In fact, I'm positive I am.
Showboat Branson Belle 006.JPG
Shouldn't this be on the boat?
Showboat Branson Belle 008.JPG
I think we can do without this, but the other stuff, pretty sure we need it.

Just a little bit further
Showboat Branson Belle 009.JPG
And we are on the dock. Honestly it's not all that far from the parking lot.
Showboat Branson Belle 011.JPG
Probably the right spot to be in.
Showboat Branson Belle 012.JPG
That's right, VIP baby.

Table Rock Lake is about to be rockin' so don't bother knockin'

Our entertainment for the night.

You really wouldn't think you were on a boat.

Christopher starts off by getting the crowd in the mood. He also likes to play with his rope, stretching, bending, pulling, and cutting. Somehow it always went back to the way it was when he started. It's magic people.

Yup, living the high life.
Showboat Branson Belle 030.JPG
Dinner is served. YUMMY!
Showboat Branson Belle 032.JPG
OMFG Delicious!

Meanwhile the band played while the peasants ate.
Showboat Branson Belle 052.JPG
So let's go out and see if we can catch a sunset.
Showboat Branson Belle 045.JPG
Epic fail.
Showboat Branson Belle 049.JPG
But I did manage to get mesmerized by the wheel.
Showboat Branson Belle 067.JPG
And then I fell in love.

A lady of many talents, she plays piano too.
Showboat Branson Belle 071.JPG
And sings too. I wonder if she likes roller coasters?
Showboat Branson Belle 073.JPG
Ooo look ladies, it's the Backstreet Boys!

2:30 later the show and cruise were over. Awesome experience, I'd recommend it as something 'different' to do while in town!

Thanks again to Silver Dollar City for the opportunity. I loved it!

I wish they would make Street Fighter Donkey.

Thanks for the report. I was wondering what kind of show they put on. We might have to check it out the next time we head in that direction.

Despite Gatekeeper being announced yesterday, this ride is still my most anticipated for 2013, such a daring and epic ride Silver Dollar City has coming! That drop will be fantastic, the insane elements, speed, air and INVERSIONS, clearly going to be a top 10 buster in many lists!
Total Coasters: 218, #1 Steel= Millennium Force, #1 Wood= Voyage
2012 parks: SFGAdv, Dorney, Hershey, Canada's Wonderland, La Ronde

I may be going out on a huge limb here...but I think this coaster has potential to be #1 in the world for MANY.

I agree, though the list of new coasters is still short. We have 3 (White Lightning, Outlaw Run, and Gatekeeper) officially announced, but as of right now, yes. I agree.

Been away on the TPR Trips the last three weeks so forgive me if I'm rehashing something...

Anyone think we could see a repeat of the 'Maverick inversion removal prior to opening' type drama with this ride? Or do we trust Rocky Mountain more?

Just a few weeks ago we were celebrating the tearing down of the only wooden inverting coaster and now we're celebrating this like it's the best thing ever. I will reserve my opinion till the ride is running!

Been quietly thinking the same thing. The only difference is that this is really more of a hybrid coaster (I think...since I don't pay close enough attention to the nerd details)...despite what anyone else wants to claim it as.* So basically, I guess I'm holding out hope.

In fairness, the inversion was the least of the problems with SOB. And I think RMC already has a much better reputation than RCCA ever did.
