WillMontu
If anyone's interested, I can post my London stuff too. Comments are appreciated! . There's also a few Easter Eggs hidden within some pictures Legoland (1) Legoland (2) Chessington Coney Beach Oakwood Drayton Manor Pleasureland Southport Blackpool Pleasure Beach part 1 Blackpool Pleasure Beach part 2 Lightwater Valley Flamingoland Pleasurewood Hills Great Yarmouth and Joyland Thorpe Park RyanAir and Tusenfryd Liseberg (part 1) Liseberg (part 2) Coney Beach Video Megablitz front seat POV Spinning Spider at Legoland with Derek, Nicole, and Paul DDR Machines of UK trip ------------ Alton Towers: This the "Towers" part of Alton Towers These trees look like they came out of RCT Prepare for the Vekoma Brace Position Sorry Robb, no food for you! Time to get screwed Ooh! Signature shot! Oblivion has a 90 degree banked turn between the drop and the brakes Fortunately John missed and took a picture of the flat rides instead This is Oblivion. Claimed as the first "vertical drop" coaster, the drop is only slightly steeper than the Togo Death Machine Ultra Twisters. The credit whores take over Beastie You can tell we're not at a Six Flags park So sad and pathetic that I got to ride with Elissa (who loves spinning coasters) Dan and I took the Sad and Pathetic line Spinball is themed to a giant pinball machine Another shot of the castle I've got this credit! Strict ordinances require rides to be built below the treeline Alton Towers has a castle, and a big one that that. John took a picture of Rita (either that or he tried to get a shot of Corkscrew and missed). End of story (and ERT for that matter). Who's that sad and pathetic person back there by himself? A close up of the brake fins that retract when the train launches Darn it! Corkscrew is running Rita is one of many Intamin rockets with OTSR's In Ugland, we get ERT on Corkscrew! Similar to a Universal park, the Tusseuds parks have these electronic displays around the park Some of the impressive landscaping. Would make a great spot for a terrain woodie Hey Dan, want to go on this? It's only ₤3 Purple flowers were a common theme at Alton Towers The fifteen minute walk from the hotel to the park, however, did not. Oh well, there's still the monorail The place feels like it belongs at a Disney or Universal resort This was the hotel we stayed in at Alton Towers Here's the random donkey As part of "Elissa Bingo", we had to witness Robb eating something as one of the squares A lot of the parks we visited were out in the middle of nowhere, but still managed to attract a fair number of visitors
WillMontu
More from Alton Towers If you're ever at the Alton Towers Hotel, be sure to check out the Elevator Ride. While not as good as the Magical Escalator, it's an interesting experience The skyride was closed today, or was it opening? Cresting the lift Unlike Six Flags, Alton Towers actually uses their dual loading station Nemesis and AIR duel with the monorail Hey Fantazyland, John Wardley did a much better job The ride is by no means tall, but packs a punch The next morning was ERT on Nemesis This is what happens when you illegally park at Alton Towers. Your wheel gets clamped and your car painted in wild colours The hotel had a partially enclosed waterpark, complete with a Master Blaster slide This would be a good place for a drop tower Some of the stained glass is intact (or at least restored) While there is very little in the castle, visitors can explore much of the rooms and some of the battlements Alton Towers has ravens and legends, now they just need a voyage I fart in your general direction! This is where the Vekoma ride lurks While the castle is mostly empty, there are steps in there that could strike at any time These RC ducks were easier to control than the ones at Lightwater Valley This was the wettest that we got on the trip so far We'll be riding that in a few days One of Nemesis's inversions Cool motion blur John took a picture of the Top Spin Like Nemesis, AIR has lots of good photo spots AIR was intended to be a "relaxing" ride. No pretzel loop here Ripsaw is a very wet Top Spin. Chessington had one too, but the water effects weren't working. Nemesis is extremely well themed No photo TR is complete without a random vertical loop Nemesis has many areas for getting good pictures and video While this may be the "World's Most Intense Ride Experience", Nemesis is still extremely smooth for its age. The Monorail Barn The Haunted House was converted into a "shoot the coloured lights" shooting ride. What are you going to break this time? This is what happens when Elissa navigates on Rhino Rally You know you want to ride But I'm sure she will survive Robb ate everything, leaving nothing for Elissa This is the lunch buffet

Jon Sabo
You should have asked the maintenance department if you could get ERT's on the Oblivion as in that pic you posted. That sure would have been a great ride..lol Nice pics....it rained only one day there?

WillMontu
Southport Pleasureland We've had green water on all the log flumes and now we have blue water. At least it's anatomically correct Best name for an SLC EVER! I was the "sad and pathetic" one on this ride Don't take a picture of that! You'll open it back up again and we'll have to ride it! What are you taking a picture of John? Pleasureland has a small skyride that runs round trip around the park Wildcat was closed while we were there. They opened it back up as soon as they saw our coach leave the car park ...as there are some moments that just can't be missed On-ride photos are available for everything in the UK - even the Wacky Worm Can you move out of the way Barry? Once again the adults take over the kiddie coaster Pleasureland's Wacky Worm is known for its amazing theming ...and a credit ...pasta... ...with pizza... Southport had a pizza and pasta buffet Hey, Soren, is this correct? Robb's into the candy again Oh, well Let's do that again Darn it John! Did you take a picture of OUR train? The train is a shuttle Elissa and Dan are winning, even when Robb took several hundred pounds off of his train "I'm going to take a picture of your train" No guys, this isn't a credit One of the "tree headchoppers" on Cyclone These two are either demonstrating the Japanese Riding Position or hiding from Barry's camera Robb goes where no enthusiast has gone before We had a fair amount of ERT on both Cyclone and Solomon's Mines This is Cyclone's lift hill Wooden mice seem more "out of control" than steel models since the cars tilt a little bit around the turns Random lift hill shot Solomon's Mines is a classic wood mouse The flyers were not open today You can barely make out Blackpool Pleasure Beach in the distance Robb takes yet another POV Cyclone #1? By who? Paul Ruben? Sure it's a classic ride and a lot of fun, but I don't see enthusiasts flocking to it. Find the ass TPR loved the funhouse This is the Social Mixer Who gave Robb the mike? We tried, but we were unable to break the wheel this time. "If you are sad and pathetic, get on the wheel" We were disappointed! No SLC credit for us today After a night in Blackpool, we head to Pleasureland Southport The pub quiz at Blackpool. Here we had to answer tough questions such as "How many credits is Steeplechase?" and "Who has a fetish for vertical loops?" This was our room at Big Blue. We had an awesome view (in a later update)

CoasterFanatic
Pleasureland has a small skyride that runs round trip around the park They sure do. That is where that "retard" threw that balloon from that zonked my fiance on the head. I could picture the headlines now: "American Coaster Nut Has Passport Revoked After Assaulting a Defenseless "Special" Kid" // I wish I had no conscience as that kid would still be in the hospital. WillMontu
Drayton Manor Okay, so where's the looping waterslide? It felt like a giant swing Come on Elissa. It's a [spinning] Intamin ride! (though it didn't spin very much) Bench - The Ride! This was Elissa's favorite part besides the Intamin rides Looks like another Universal knock-off Extreme dryer POV! Ever wonder how Shockwave got its logo? The boat is "ejected" out of the station by a tilting platform behind the gate The flume was very well themed. Too bad Dan didn't get to see it The "double down" flume drop The log flume features a reverse section Unlike B&M rides, Shockwave has a section of straight track Shockwave is the only stand-up with an inline twist This is the inverting lift hill. A bit of a gimmick though Green water was a common theme in the UK The half-painted Shockwave has the dip before the drop like B&M rides The rapids ride was okay, though we got overtaken several times when stuck in a wave machine Shockwave bears some resemblance to B&M stand-ups, but the trains are somewhat different The famous sign in the Shockwave queue Even though it only has one train (why?), G-Force has a transfer track G-Force operates with just lapbars. It's not Schwarzkopf though, as they cut off circulation to the lower half of your body during the ride No John! Don't take a picture until I got my credit! The Buffalo coaster is a powered credit for those who count them. Pales in comparison to the Runaway Mine Train at Alton though The ride has several cars, including sit-down, stand-up, and a floorless (which is NOT guy friendly) Elissa got excited at the sight of Intamin rides
WillMontu
Blackpool Pleasure Beach, part 1 The little engine that couldn't! This was my first bobsled credit Going up the lift ERT on Avalanche also Some of us got to ride with sandbag dummies (as opposed to human dummies) Pepsi Max Big One was the "tallest, fastest, steepest rollercoaster in Europe". Speed is steeper. Overview of Nash Nash wasn't open yet Robb attaches his lipstick cam, and we go around several times without stopping While there were seatbelts, riders can still face backwards or sideways Elissa Bingo: We go through a tunnel. Check! For a ride that [once] had no restraints, the drops are fairly large Going up the lift The lift is much straighter than Pleasureland Southport Cyclone's Shot of the station and reflection of the train The lift hill The ride does have seatbelts, but there are no lapbars Rollercoaster has three trains (plus an extra Velvet car), though they were only running one for ERT ERT on Rollercoaster Different lift hill speeds and brakes make the ride unpredictable until the end Can you believe that this was built by Arrow? ERT on Steeplechase (though only two tracks were running, so two credits for some, one for some, and 2/3 credit for others. We had a few people from the 235 club joining us for ERT the next day No comment Dessert was a big part of dinner at Coasters The bar is set up so that people can sit in the car, have a drink, and watch the telly An original car from the Velvet Coaster This part of the restaurant was closed off (except for those of us who had to go in to use the loo) I want one of these in my living room! Dinner was at the Coasters restaurant ...complete with ACEr's to boot! This place has a Pizza Hut buffet After South Pier, we head back to Big Blue According to those who rode, this was one insane Waltzer. The ride ops were jumping around spinning the cars more than normal Who's up for a free ride? Here's the famous Donkey sign referenced in one of Robb's earlier PTR's But it's still a credit! The Crazy Mouse is a standard spinning mouse No caption needed After Big Dipper ERT, many of us went to the South Pier to get the Crazy Mouse credit Signature shot! Robb's by himself? That's kind of sad and pathetic! Going up the lift Big Dipper was the first of many ERT sessions at BPB BPB had more perks than any of the parks on the trip Here is the awesome view from our bedroom window! We stayed three nights at Big Blue. Not only was it one of the nicest hotels on the trip, it was also the only one with free Internet access
martinb
Until last year, BPB still tried to plug the Big One as the worlds tallest and fastest coaster, but this year they've changed it to Europes tallest and fastest, Um Stealth is faster & Silver Star is taller. eskater132
what's with the B&M restraints torn off of the car on oblivion?
martinb
^All the trains are being refurbished, all new restraints, new transfers for the Logo, completely new paint job. It's rumoured that X-Sector will be completely refurbished for next year, but they've started on Oblivion early, all the track will be re-painted eventually to a nice crisp black, it will look good! -Martyn
WillMontu
Blackpool Pleasure Beach (part 2) Although the LED display was broken and the table was off center During intermission for the ice show, some of us got to try the RCT pinball machine We did not get the chance to ride the BPB "royal limo" Barry is NOT holding his camera! The first drop Someone is actually holding my hand! Nash ERT was awesome Hey, Dan, want to ride Valhalla? The new trains. There are seat dividers, but that didn't seem to matter too much What are these "materials" you speak of? Exclusive shot! One of the perks was the Grand National walkback The walkthrough haunted hotel had this DCA TOT face and a bonus ride I found Nemo! You do not get [very] wet on this water ride The ride is unusual in that it has a downhill lift Is this a copyright violation? The Ghost Train was probably Chris Sawyer's inspiration for the ride in RCT Bag lady For once, Barry is NOT wearing a FCC shirt! Robb attempted to take his camera on Valhalla You know you want to ride Vertical loop goodness The "wanna-be B&M" seatbelts The "orange and blue" Revolution was my first Arrow shuttle The queue for Space Invader Robb pounds himself for the camera This is the "graveyard" back near Valhalla. There's even some extra Arrow track from Pepsi Max We met at Valhalla for the Nash walkback only to be told by Robb to get lost I was able to get this clown coaster credit, unlike the one at Oakwood BPB has an "Italian Job" attraction, but this one is probably more ACEr friendly Extreme closeup of Arrow Track! This was a kiddie ride A camel toe for Robb I'm a tree! Gimme some candy! The oprator wishes us good luck as we take over this ride as well Best ride ever I appear to have shown up in a TR or two Going up the lift As short as the ride was, it was still a credit The ride operates with buzz-bars and brake levers Naturally we had to do a takeover Zipper Dipper is a classic kiddie woodie I think more of us got this loo credit One small coaster for TPR. One giant "cha-ching" for credit whores I got the Space Invader credit, though John's camera of doom prevented others from getting it.
WillMontu
My Photo TR's don't seem to be getting many hits. I guess I am that sad and pathetic. Lightwater Valley But the water is definitely not the cleanest I've seen You won't get very wet on this water ride They also had a Wacky Worm at the other side of the park. Pounding it on the RCT ladybug kiddie ride "DUDE! I love Pinfari rides!" Robb and Elissa waited a long time to get everyone this exclusive shot The RC ducks here were a lot more realistic than the ones at Alton Towers, although they were difficult to control Robb tries to "pound it" with a duct tape covered camera BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!! While they were only running one train, they were long enough to fit nearly everyone Some of the sewers theming Elissa was able to convince management to open the Rat Ride early Nigel's all "I just don't get it" We were disappointed to find that there weren't any bras on the lift that day One might think that the little bunny hops had airtime, but they did not We had ERT on Ultimate We got the idea that Robb had been here before This is the park we were going to that day The manager of this McDonalds was shocked to see Elissa come in "Credit whores go straight ahead. N00bs head to the right"
WillMontu
Flamingoland, the only park with donkeys, baby bottoms, and sideloops The trailer ride! People have the tendency to flash on this ride There's another baby's bottom That looks like a baby's bottom Velocity is the Vekoma Booster Bike There's Robb at the top of the lift It spins here too The trains are similar to standard SLC trains, although since the ride is smooth, my shoulders didn't get bashed in like on the one at WA. Robb: "I don't like how it's shaking" Time for ERT on the Giant SLC! Fort Fun was one of the best attractions at Flamingoland The aftermath Elissa on the "ass-bruise" slide Are there any water rides in England that have clean water? That is foam building up behind the boats We found the lost river ride Sideloop...though the trees!! We did not get the chance to go fishing from the cobra roll Vertical loop Vekoma speed into the station! The helix was the roughest part of the ride. It's not as smooth as Nemesis, but still smooth as a baby's bottom It goes as fast as Vekoma possible Kumali though the trees! I guess I should have knocked first When you gotta go... This reminded many of us of the Crystal Maze back at Oakwood Find the ass I never did find the flamingos, but I did find they donkeys Coney Beach called Flamingoland ahead of time, so they only let kids ride the powered kiddie. Why didn't they tear this one out instead of the Schwarzkopfs Another credit, though this one isn't made by Vekoma Once again we terrorize the kids on the kiddie coaster I rode in the "magic Vekoma seat", and only got my head whacked once (though rather hard) First credit, a Vekoma of course ...quality! ...quality... ...quality... But we are here for the rides that bear the mark of quality... A view of the park A sign of the ride to come
Louise
OMG, the FUDGE!!! Clint and I bought like a kilo and a half of that stuff, stupidly, and then spent the rest of the trip trying to finish it off! It even ended up coming to Sweden with us for God's sake! Stupid Brits and Aussies, never can resist a bargain. Good fudge though! Nice pictures Will, I like the shot of the rat tunnel taken from the floor, different to any others I've seen. EDIT: I'd already seen about a dozen pictures of James and Barron flashing on Velocity but this one... ...seems to have the added bonus of Cameron's nipples too! Woo-hoo! WillMontu
Pleasurewood Hills Sorry, that doesn't count as a credit Threeeeeeeeeeeeee-deeeeeeeeeeeee! Much of it is outdoors Tales of the Coast is another "dark" ride Fortunately we had a kid to ride with PH had a few dark rides. This was a "kiddie ride" It's the George Foreman Grill ride Due to the lack of vertical loops at the park (besides in the parking lot), this was probably Derek's favorite spot More dirt! Dirt! Hey Elissa, you know you want to ride that slide! Here's what the new ride might look like Time for Merry Go Straight, or Alpine Chairlift, or something Okay John, we've all got the credit We are having way too much fun on the kiddie coaster It's the credit whore train Time for Snake in the Grass, or Rattlesnack, or whatever it's called The geese are known to attack when provoked Still bigger than Disneyland's This looks like a fun ride Here's some dirt Going up the lift Another view of the twisted track Signature move! What's that I see in the front seat? Well John did take a picture "Roller Coaster 1 has broken down" - "Restraints stuck closed" From here you get an idea of the twisted layout The ride has seperate loading and unloading stations, although they didn't help very much with only one train The ride was operating with a single eight person train, making for slow throughput. At least we were escorted to the ride as soon as the park opened I wonder what will happen if John took a picture of the track in the background. Being a Vekoma, I think it might get put back together. Ryan down for the count The entrance There was also another credit here, but it wasn't quite ready to ride First thing we see at Pleasurewood is the classic Schwarzkopf Our trip to Pleasurewood was delayed by the Aussies buying beer What happens when your camera breaks during the trip? Buy a new one, of course!
