Great update! It sure looks like your having a great time, at a nice park in almost the middle of nowhere. I'm a bit dissapointed now, that I visited Oakwood last year, when they've now got the amazing looking Speed also I wish Hydro would still have lapbars. Anyway, bring on the next update!

Those vertical slides are awesome. In Cornwall last year at Crealy they had about 4 of them and one of them was about 3 times the height of the one in the update. Seriously dangerous but so much fun

I can't believe you lot are spending a whole day at Pleasureland, I would have thought you would have gone to whore Camelot in the same day, especially as it is due to close at any time.

Fab update. Looks as though you all had a blast at Oakwood. It would be hard 'not' to though as its a great little theme park with an emphasis on fun over thrills. But the addition of Speed has really knocked the thrill factor up a peg or two. They just need that second woodie now....

Keep up with the crazy antics, and Elissa, good luck with your Crazy Frog mission.

Very nice update robb, loads of fun! The weather seems to have changed here in Belgium, i hope that isn't the case for you guys in UK.

Oh and speed looks insane! But we at Belgium have a NINETY FIVE degree drop aswell! I actually thought it was NINETY SEVEN, I'm not sure... It's Typhoon @ Bobbejaanland. Speed looks alot cooler though.

Oh, and dont mind people crying for updates, it's your vacation too, and we all appreciate (spelling?) that you make some time free to putt those pictures on the web. Hereby: Thank you!

Edit: Darn, tried to get the Speed POV again but you added a stream version and it screws up my browser. Time for updates.

TPR Members baffled by Speed at Oakwood

1733675452_TPROAKWOOD011e.jpg.b66e5025ad85440878abd8232d7f7aea.jpg

And look what it does to the colour of your hair!

1687232182_TPROAKWOOD046e.jpg.78ada73c0708f9ad9ef41b4cc587f633.jpg

I think you spend more time out of your seat than you do in it on Speed

Then this waaaaaay OMG Airtime off the top of the first drop, well what goes up must come down, (unless of course its your breakfast & that works in reverse)

Meet up with Steve C from the board yesterday at Drayton Manor

Looked like everyone had a great time until the weather changed in the afternoon when the heavens opened on it rained lots and lots.

Drayton was very quiet with no queues so lots of rides on everything.

Hope everyone is having fun up Blackpool and the weather gets better for the rest of the trip.

I have no idea how you find time to go to all the parks, take care of everything/everyone on the trip, and post all these updates. I hope you're finding time to actually get some sleep!

It looks like everyone's having a great time, and judging by all those cameras we have lots more updates/videos to look forward to when everyone gets back.

Don't know if anwsered yet. It wasn't a POV, sorry, it was more a filming of the entire ride. It's on the "The Professional Amateur Videographer Forum!", use the search engine and search for Oakwood on that forum and you'll find it.

Day 2: Oakwood

38-intamin.jpg.a4570546fa3b72a8506034e47a05a52c.jpg

Elissa is delighted that this Intamin ride is only "partially" butchered, unlike stupid Knott's Berry Farm

37-groupshots.jpg.71f97182a819ab6d85988cbbdcd884ec.jpg

Although Dan wasn't the only one

36-danandhydro.thumb.jpg.5c25cadec3676234cb2ba0c36496d637.jpg

We can never have enough shots of Dan taking pictures of water rides

35-train.jpg.4d7624c99bf50a757b4e149a3bed04eb.jpg

Best ride at Oakwood: The train!

Elissa Friendly Food!

33-food.thumb.jpg.d367fa0dff8b1af9f6721b10b3ef3eb5.jpg

We had several ACErs among us

31-lunch.jpg.d1b0eb41c89f66dbc575928441d843e2.jpg

We get a private room for lunch

30-closeupoftrain.thumb.jpg.27e380dbb5e4cfdb74aff221fc68c126.jpg

Oh yeah, an exclusive shot

The real reason for the walkback (Robb scared the sheep away)

Which sheep did this?

24-walkback2.jpg.0b1152eb28438398ecabb178cd62df7c.jpg

It doesn't get much more coaster geeky than this

23-walkback1.jpg.13abd2810da7e7af92518636dbda0f56.jpg

We get to go to the "restricted area" behind Megafobia to check out the sheep poo

22-slides.jpg.be0af8b7d79aaec28d0d157ce9c2f52d.jpg

This counts as FOUR credits

21-snakeriverfalls.jpg.136ca9f7be2af51b96335654d882f532.jpg

Snake River Falls is a water slide ride (probably more inspiration for Chris Sawyer)

20-clown.jpg.24d9862b36805f80bbf11486cacdd9fb.jpg

Credit denied!

18-treetops.jpg.4d9d20c8e78ca8be856db9713323b46f.jpg

This was probably the inspiration for the log trains in RCT

19-treetops2.jpg.74d54bc69e644f0ccb0d1ed67d853167.jpg

Treetops was a decent kiddie coaster. Most of the ride is hidden in the forest, though it never goes into the tree tops

17-headchopper.thumb.jpg.3c3e492c5855d81a8b2ef542b5a8d632.jpg

Megafobia has headchoppers, and this is just the queue

16-wd40.jpg.76a435c5194feb526dfe56edd0e311fb.jpg

It just goes to show that WD-40 can be used to fix everything

15-setuprideop.jpg.0a421373ba03309ee438c5559a147c2e.jpg

This was supposed to be a shot of Robb setting up his camera, but ended up being a shot of a ride-op jumping over the track

14-gerstlauer.jpg.f33f729c9e8a18d31ee0dd81f93eb8fa.jpg

Just in case you forget who made the ride you're on

13-pets.jpg.dd0c4de8180bf77a88245212d5cc13d3.jpg

It's true. Pets are NOT allowed on Speed

12-loving.jpg.f8adf472307a6953b235daf6cd247551.jpg

We love Gerstlauer!

11-95degree.thumb.jpg.baee830c0b2fb5dda0d42e851b580fd9.jpg

While this is not the first Euro-fighter, I believe this is the tallest.

10-photoshoot.jpg.c025451b0ea81cfcd197a10560d0ead8.jpg

"Exclusive" shots were a common sight on this trip

09-nolimits.jpg.4f8363afbe49e535296b2a633f7f8924.jpg

The ride is named after the program the designers used to design the ride

08-lift.thumb.jpg.1039449bc9cd759ae225b65c7c173eb7.jpg

Looking back at the vertical lift. I hope those anti-rollbacks work properly

07-lipstickcam.thumb.jpg.2458e515f56cce0ac5cd5730aa0f5a08.jpg

Robb attaching the lipstick cam to the back of Speed

06-vertical.thumb.jpg.ef6dfab69a0f50eb777515c5976c0a9d.jpg

Derek loved Speed. It has a vertical loop, a vertical lift, and a beyond vertical drop.

05-hydo.jpg.5cae343f367a1cf7e2142cd8ff55e24e.jpg

Nice shot of the coach and Dan's favorite Intamin ride

04-wristband.thumb.jpg.0a0a9a3af873c74d99e9ef9df8c25aed.jpg

Parks give us extra perks with official TPR wristbands. Some of us even got the privilige of having Elissa put them on for us

03-robb.thumb.jpg.291b01ec916dd8b0c86fe4a98b926c4c.jpg

Robb making an announcement

01-holidayinnexpress.jpg.fe832693f9b3c33570f64984793e55e1.jpg

While Robb and Elissa have never organized a trip before, their skill came from the fact that they stayed at a Holiday Inn Express

00-walk.jpg.95cb69bcce0357327725fb81d607b088.jpg

Nigel abandoned us, so we had to walk to Oakwood

Looking at Speed, I am now willing to support those who want Flashback to be replaced. ^You could have spared us the poop picture. Hopefully Perilous Plunge will be unbutchered soon.

All these pictures are megaginormousmeatasaurus Rex! You all are having a ball.

Thank you all for posting pics. We are living vicariously through you all. Mostly, thanks to Robb and Elissa for planning what seems to be an awesome trip that allows us to live vicariously through you all.

Keep up the great work.

Most of all, have fun!

Oh man, that POV shot of speed is SINISTER! Wish I had made the trip...

Oh well... it was either this or your next Japan trip and I need to see Journey for myself. Keep having fun!
