WOFanatic
Any drop tower. I don't know why, but even the tiny one at Mall of America scared the crap out of me. The shot towers, however, don't have the same effect for some reason.
JT325
The Conneaut Lake Blue Streak because let's be honest... somebody is going to die on this thing one day which will probably finally put this place out of it's misery. Â God I love that ride. I put it in my #2 spot. Rode the heck out of it this past August and it's even better than last year. Â As far as terrifying rides go, I would say some sky rides as well as Wind Seekers. But it's a good terrified! I love them. I just hold on tight. I love them even more for the fact I can find a ride that actually scares me.
FirstDropJay
The High Fall @ Movie Park Germany. Try to avoid riding it every single time....not always successful, but DAMN, what a messed up drop tower.
wmay
Drop rides and towers in general, mainly because I'm afraid of getting stuck at the highest point. If you get stuck on a coaster it's usually on the lift hill where there's a catwalk that you can safely use. If you get stuck at the top of a tower my fear is that they have to get you down using a crane. I know that there are ways of lowering the car manually if it gets stuck but still. Â Oh and tilt drop rides like Falcon's Fury? Yeah, F that. Never!
ytterbiumanalyst
Any rides where I can't see what they're going to do. I'm okay if I can watch a ride and see how it works, then I know what to expect. But skycoasters, SCAD towers, bungee jumping, things like that where the experience varies each time--nope. Mikxy
Hades 360. Only ride to ever scare me, maybe because of the lowkey park feel and the dip in front of me with his phone out that he nearly let loose twice(that I noticed.) But I've been on a lot of "scary" rides and this is the only one to scare me.
JPRIC01
Cyclos at Kentucky Kingdom. The amount of hang time on that ride is ridiculous (and terrifying)!
AJK
Even though I am nowhere near afraid of heights X2 still really freaked me out. It was a jerkier ride which made for a more out-of control feeling which was even crazier when inverted. Hangtime at 150 feet in the air really scared me! Its too bad the jerky seat rotations took away how awesome that ride could have been. I've only ridden 46 coasters and its not even in my top 20. Satans Hockey
I haven't been on them yet but the 3 rides at the Las Vegas stratosphere will definitely have me second guessing myself but I'll still try them whenever I get out there. Â The skyscreamer at six flags new England when it was really windy made me a little nervous lol
RAWKIN_coaster38
Cyclos at Kentucky Kingdom. The amount of hang time on that ride is ridiculous (and terrifying)! Yes! There aren't too many rides where I'm unwilling to raise my arms, but I was clinging on for dear life during that entire ride!

It's something about not having a track keeping me held aloft makes me nervous (like, if a roller coaster breaks, you're not going to go splat into the pavement below). Â Tatsu always makes me a little nervous when it raises you into the Flying Position too, although that's also one of my favorite rides so I guess it doesn't really scare the crud out of me. wmay
Vertigo at Tivoli Gardens. Only time I honestly feared for my life on a ride.  It's fun! Although I did preemptively pop a leftover Bonine before going on it the first time. Since I hit 20 I haven't been good with too much spinning. Arthur_Seaton
Several already mentioned in this thread, but certain drop towers still freak me out — no matter how many times I've ridden them. The S&S ones don't bother me because they feel so robust, but I have a persistent, irrational fear that the track on a ride like Lex Luthor could just peel away from the tower after having its bolts loosened by a few too many Superman launches. The anxiety of drop towers is all anticipation, though — the vertigo-induced feeling of insecurity combined with the suspense of the release tends to border on unpleasant for me. I'll still ride them all, but often it's just to check a box. Star Flyers have a similar effect in that while I really enjoy the Windchasers (I find them relaxing), the feeling of fragility on Star Flyers keeps me from fully enjoying the experience. Even though I rode the SFOT one multiple times in a row, the swinging / spinning of the seats freaked me out every time.  A few people mentioned Cyclos at KK — and I skipped that one based on how it looked (those Fabbri Evolutions look similarly unpleasant to me). I kind of wish I'd at least tried it now, but it did look more unpleasant than anything. Also mentioned was the rock-o-plane. My anxiety with that ride stems from riding it as a kid and feeling like I was being faceplanted over and over. I rode one earlier in the year at Sandy Lake in Texas and did everything I could to keep the car from flipping. My fear was that if it were to flip, I'd never be able to get it to stop in the upright position for the rest of the ride and would spend the next 2-3 minutes feeling like I was having a panic attack in a washing machine.  Last, and not quite aligned to the topic as it's not really a ride but worth noting: the Exorcist maze at Universal Hollywood really surprised me this year in just how much it freaked me out. I love cheesy dark rides / haunted houses and will go through them over and over if I have the chance, but I found this one to be incredibly intense from start to finish. I was very aware of my elevated heart rate and even found myself wishing it would end at one point. In that regard, it was a fantastic maze, but I found it truly terrifying. Â Speaking of mazes, that's one thing that really terrifies me! I have no problem whatsoever with horror movies but horror mazes just freak me out!! I'm like a particularly sensitive 10-year old girl in them and I have no problem admitting it. I still go because I don't know maybe I'm a masochist but I always regret it once I'm inside! Trevor Hamilton
The first time I rode Griffon I was scared shitless. I was only 7 though. Also Intimidator 305 because I was 11. Millennium Force freaked me out a bit (and that was recent ). I've been on 3 giga coasters and Fury 325 is the only one that didn't freak me out. Probably because of the B&M trains. Donkeygoat
Well... Â As a child I got so scared in line for Lisebergsbanan (family Scwartzkopf) that I started crying, although I got myself together and stayed in line. Â The most scared I've ever been on a ride was Kingda Ka, since it was my first coaster faster than 60mph and first coaster over 100 feet. Â The only rides I've passed on since I started riding coasters are Vertigo @ Tivoli Gardens and Slingshot Ride (but that's also because of the cost). canadianparkfan
Nemesis Sub-Terra. Think Alien Encounter meets Mystery Castle during Halloween Horror Nights. How does that ride work? I know it's essentially a drop tower plus horror maze, but how do the towers work? I've heard that you actually start at the top.

OMG!! I forgot about the Stratosphere rides. Big Shot wasn't so bad. I really enjoyed it, and it had great views. X-Scream, and Insanity on the other hand can kiss my natural white a$$!!!! Never, and I mean NEVER again!! I have never in my life been so scared on a ride. True, white knuckle terror. I also feel bad for all the smaller kids that were on the rides when I rode them because I could not control the words coming out of my mouth.  However, as much as I hated X-Scream and Insanity, I LOVED Skyjump Las Vegas.
Stonem
The first time when I can say a ride scared the crap outta me was the first time I rode this slide. You are flying the whole time, the first drop is almost free fall. You don't touch the slide until you reach the bottom, and on the "airtime hill" you'll just pray to make it alive
BigBad
It's the Sky Screamer rides at Six Flags. I've been on the ones at Great Adventure and SFNE. I have ridden them a total of three times. I don't remember my first experience. The last two were this past year, both on cold and windy days. Strapped in by almost nothing (or so it seems), I was spinning around up in the cold and wind. It was unpleasant, though I think I'd have more fun on a warm day, even if it's windy up high. I don't remember the first time I rode SFGA Sky Screamer, but it was in the summer. Â I'm not sure if it's a good kind of scary, but I would like to see that kind of openness explored for coasters and drop towers. Imagine Zumanjaro or the Big Shot in Vegas with the skimpy restraints on the Sky Screamer rides. If it's safe enough for being 400 feet up like the SFNE ride is, then it's safe enough for any height, I think. (I'd assume that it's game over if you fall out from the top of the New England Sky Screamer and that the safety precautions reflect that.) Canobie Coaster
Honestly the Windseekers freak me out more than the Star Flyers, and that even includes when SFNE runs their 400 ft one in reverse for Fright Fest. I think they freak me out more than the Star Flyers since they had so many issues when they first opened (excessive swinging, getting stuck, etc). I will take them over Star Flyers still. Â Massive drop towers still can scare me. The top one is Lex Luthor. Zumanjaro may be taller, but Lex Luthor has a far scarier location since that tower feels like its going down when Superman comes by.
