jamesdillaman
One more thing worth mentioning...I've heard some reports of an element featured in this ride called a "Wall Turn". I'm guessing it'll be a 90-degree banked turn or something, but it's very hard to tell at this time with the lack of photos... My first thought was that it would be like this: http://www.rcdb.com/ig2472.htm?picture=8 but I could be wrong. It's an opposite-banked 90 degree curve, like an airtime hill sideways. -James "Was mentioned in the press release" Dillaman
stormrider
What is it with S&S and having skinny tubes with extremely fat tubes in them? Looks like Eejanaika with the crazy supports. Hopefully this ride doesn't vibrate as much as Eejanaika, but in my experience compact coasters have tended to be rough.[/img]
handy-andy
The design and compactness (is that a word) of this coaster really remainds me of Flashback that used to be at Magic Mountain ( http://www.rcdb.com/id128.htm ). The thing that worries me is that it may just turn out as pointless as the screamin squirrel.
bflag
^ My thoughts exactly. When I first seen the video for this ride I instantly thought about Flashback at SFMM. I liked Flashback but it was ROUGH and got boring after a couple of rides. I doubt Steel Hawg will be as rough as Flashback was but these rides don't really get me excited. There was talk at WCB that this is a possible ride somewhere on the west coast.....I hope not at SFMM unless its 200ft like mentioned.
Thom25
I can't wait to see this coaster in action and hear some TR. I think it has great potential if they can pull it off.
dr.gumbo
First drops up. I don't care what anyone says because I think it looks really cool. www.indianabeach.com/blog/
haux
I'm impressed. I thought it was just going to be like the Screamin' Squirrels but at 120 degrees instead of totally upside down. Now what's the rest of the layout?
mcjaco
^ Turns where the car is on the outside. This is going to be a painful ride.
dr.gumbo
I wouldn't be suprised if this ride exceeds peoples expectations considering all the hate its been getting. Saying that though, it could easily be as bad as most think it will be. I personally have faith in it but only time will tell. I think it will either fail like the Arrow Pipeline or end up being an important landmark like the B&M Invert, at the moment it could sway either way. But thats why I'm so interested in the ride, its future is nearly unpredictable unlike most of the rides being built at the moment.
Loopy
I know what I am going to do...... Ride it, then decide.

Thom25
I think this ride looks very innovative and exciting. I for one am waiting to see it in action, cause in my opinion, this could be next big thing - assuming it isn't too painful to ride.
downunder
I think the Hawg will be fun at the very least, I wish I could get back to IB sometime soon, I love that place.
Reon
I'll definately try it out. I've been meaning to get to IB for a while, and this adds another reason to go. From my experience, I enjoy 90+* drops, and outside banked turns, so I'm pretty excited.
Shavethewhales
I love how spindly it looks; the cars will make it look oh so similar to those Knex models I made as a kid. Personally, I don't think it will be too bad - just to speculate. I know a lot of people will hate it, but I'll probably enjoy it even if it does bash people around. As long as I'm able to get up on my own out of the seats at the end of the ride - and am not bleeding - it's a good ride.
DBru
I am totally excited about it now! The drop looks great! So either there is going to be crazy airtime, or that brake is going to ruin it...
Superdasher
Layout is complete!!! WOW, they sure got it built fast!!!! It looks pretty different from the one in the video, though, I only see one turn banked on the outside, which I believe is the Tip-out. Also, they said it would have three inversions, but I only count two in those pictures (a Dive Loop and a Heartline Roll). I guess the first drop is the third inversion, even though it doesn't really send riders upside-down. One more thing worth mentioning...I've heard some reports of an element featured in this ride called a "Wall Turn". I'm guessing it'll be a 90-degree banked turn or something, but it's very hard to tell at this time with the lack of photos... It's an opposite-banked 90 degree curve, like an airtime hill sideways. -James "Was mentioned in the press release" Dillaman Really? I know Wall Turn was mentioned in the press release, but I don't remember reading an explanation of what it was. I know which turn you're talking about from the video, but it does not appear to be there in the photos. So either it's one of the other vertical curves...or maybe it was removed because the Gs would've been too intense, like Maverick's heartline. The layout from those photos looks much less painful than the one in the video did, though, I'll say that much!
coasterdude5
That is one messed-up looking ride...
Thom25
I can not wait to see this bad boy in action. It looks like something out of RCT - thank you for the update !! It is amazing how fast this got put together - please keep those updates coming - especially when they start testing - a video would be SWEET! DATman
The wall turn is probably the hill after the first drop.
nannerdw
The wall turn looks awesome. I would like to see something like that as the first drop for a ride, kind of like a mini Expedition Geforce drop. The whole thing almost looks like a caricature of a real ride. The track is so small, and it looks like it barely has enough crossties to support the rails. It reminds me of one of those K'nex Vertical Vengeance coasters. haux
Wow. I don't know how I feel about that turn banked the wrong way, but there's a brake run before it, so they can tame it if it's too extreme. The heartline looks really cool. It's diving down, the opposite of Mystery Mine's. Hopefully the brakes before the first drop aren't too insane. Kennyweird
Good God! That looks even more insane in real life! Why do I have a sneaking suspicion that the trim brakes are going to be set really high?
dockers
Wow... That is insane!! I cannot believe how unique it looks. It looks like something that should only be attempted in NL. Hopefully it rides as good as it looks.
