Casino Pier (Seaside Heights) Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

On the promo video they seemed to show their new ride being a clone of Iton Shark. However, it is not. Iron Shark is 98ft tall yet their new ride is only 74ft tall, and is also slower. Just getting it out there. Why do people think it is an Infinity anyway. Gerstlaurer are still making Eurofighter models. This ride has similar stats and footprint to Rage clones.

^ Oh damn I didn't realize you were a moderator, my bad.

I didn't either. This is entrapment, it's like an undercover cop. Normally I can see those big obnoxious flashy bars coming from a mile away, now I need to act like a civilized human being all the time just in case. No fair.

Are people back seat moderating, back seat moderating? TPR life.

So, from the sounds of it, this ride might be a gimped version of Untamed?

Or as I said earlier, Rage (the original to my understanding). From the concept image it does look like it though. It is a good ride, cbut nothing to scream about. It may even have OSTR's like the one in Saudi Arabia.

The layout looks like a compacted version of Untamed, which is fine by me.

So, if I recall correctly, one of the original Euro-Fighter layouts was the 320, which was, in essence, Rage, Untamed, etc without the spiral at the end (sold alongside the Vild-Svinet and Typhoon layouts at the time). Interestingly, everyone who bit on the 320 ended up going with the 320 Plus instead, so we never saw a regular 320.

EDIT: I can't find anything about it but I thought that layout was there at the time (2006-2007). The Wayback Machine has failed me. Regardless, this new coaster would still effectively be a 320 without the plus.

Fixed.

I WISH Atallah Happy Land Park could get a Eurofighter, but they can't. Because no one who's a thrill seeker can go there (it's a "Families only" place like pretty much every theme park here)

looks like moreys piers has some new competition

Well after seeing the layout, absolutely not. I loved Untamed but the helix is one of the best parts of the ride. This is incredibly short.

I'm sure this will be a fun ride, but even so Casino Pier would never be Morey's, nor is it trying to be. Seaside is a small beach town, Wildwood is enormous and belongs in the same conversation with huge beach destinations like Ocean City Maryland. The piers and the quality / quantity of rides that they offer is a reflection of that.

Moreys spent the last half century slowly and steadily buying up all amusement real estate available in Wildwood, building a brand and a world class seaside amusement resort that is second to none on the east coast. They were smart to do this since Wildwood is a large shore town with an enormous free beach, and attracts sh*tloads of regional families who will visit annually, with or without the piers. I can tell you living an hour and half away my entire life probably 80% of my family and friends go to Wildwood multiple times a year and a huge portion of those don't even walk down the piers.

Just in the last decade they've been rounding out their flats, opening hotels, adding to their waterparks, sprucing up the piers, and most recently adding booze and more quality food offerings on the piers, aka focusing on attracting families which is no doubt the market during summer in Wildwood. They know exactly what they are doing and do it well.

After over 20 years without a new large coaster, I personally would hope this and Gale Force do in fact light a fire under Moreys ass to add something substantial soon, but to insinuate that a small empire like Morey's suddenly has competition because of a single small eurofighter 90 miles up the coast is absolutely hilarious.

When will enthusiasts stop thinking they are the only people that visit amusement parks?

So after having looked at the layout, it basically is Diet Untamed. However, I do see some promise with that small bump up at the end of the ride. You'd trade out the positive forces of the helix for a little bit of airtime. Also, if it's got trains with lap bars, that would another notable bump up.
