robbalvey
Hey everyone, I apologize about the downtime. Server trouble! But we're working on a solution now! To be honest, I'm not even sure why or how the forum is actually running at the moment! So if it goes down again, please bear with us and know it will be back 100% very soon! --Robb
Troz
Looks like your recent outage might have been caused from digg.com? I saw that someone posted a story about the worst theme-park post: http://www.digg.com/links/The_absolute_worst_theme-park_in_the_world._
robbalvey
^ Yup I have just learned about that too.... I guess the server wasn't strong enough to handle that big of a beating!!!! I've made some changes to it now. --Robb "Athough we might be doing some more changes to make sure this kind of thing doesn't happen again." DerekRx
Please stop making the server go down. I have a tendency to hyperventilate if I can't look at TPR during my lunch break. Glad you're on top of things and care so much about us all to try and fix things as soon as possible, you're awesome!

Swimace
I think that the Fantazy Land pictures were so terrifying that the site tried to commit suicide. Glad the rehab went well...
Jon Sabo
Glad the site is back up and running. I think its the "CURSE OF TATSU" syndrome..lol...that was the 'actual' cause.
Nrthwnd
Ah darn. I musta napped thru all the "excitement" this afternoon.... Anyway. Glad to see it's up-and-running again.
Xtreeme79
Yeah its a free site, there is no need for an apology Rob. I am just thankful this site is here. Glad the site is back up as it makes my nights at work much faster. Nick
Meteornotes
This site continues to kick ass. Never apologize, and thanks for all the hard work you guys do to entertain the rest of us. Now I have a question: what can a site do to prepare for an onslaught of visitors brought on by a Slashdot or Digg post? I only ask because my old site would get destroyed when I used to post NAB or Siggraph reports to it, and the only thing we could do was sort of sit around and wait for it to die down. Is it just asking your provider for more bandwidth or something else? I'm really curious about this, though I understand if you don't want to reveal secrets about how your site works or anything. dt
CoasterFanatic
^ This helps but you also need to have plenty of bandwidth.
jackskellington101
Ah, the Digg effect at work. Great for publicity, horrible on servers. Glad to see that the site's back and so significantly faster than before. Silver linings are good. Oh, and BTW, my Digg screen name is Stuart.n, if anyone wants to friend me there
Angry_Gumball
Is the server still going weird? A few times today, I had a "This page can't be displayed" happen here. Also, going into the forums were still a bit sluggish. Other websites, everything's running fine.
robbalvey
^ There has been a little bit of residual "digg effect" today, but for the most part the forum has been running fine and really fast for me. --Robb
America Sings Freak
I think it's the curse of Fantasy Land.....so many horrors.
