sfne2005
Today marked my first 06 coaster trip with the "new" Six Flags New England. Got there late today, arriving at 2:00 PM representing with my flashy TPR t-shirt. Went over to get in the season pass line and found it wasn't long at all. Headed over to SRoS and was pleased to see both trains running (at first). But between a breakdown, removing the blue train, and the stupid flash pass, 1hour and 25 mins later, I finally get on. Next I made my way to Batman the Dark Knight, only to fight against the new parade, which was meandering through the park. Now, for those of you not familiar with the park, the paths aren't that big, especially when it's busy. I found myself walking on little kids laps to get by. Batman was also running both trains, which made the wait tolerable considering the awful loading station. After that, walked onto the Buzzsaw, which is a favorite of mine and sporting a new paint job. I learned that Catapult was actually running, so I made a B-line to it. The whole area on the south end looks really good now. I got in the short line and watched it make two whole ride cycles. This thing is sick. So I get on and it starts flipping. While doing the reverse rotations, it keeps going. More so than the first two cycles I saw. Rather than it stopping horizontal and then continue to rotate in the other direction, it stops on a slant. After a couple of minutes, it changed slants so my pod was up at an angle. We sat there for over 5 minutes - but what a nice view! Yes it broke down (shocker), but after letting us down, they gave us VIP exit passes for ANY ride in the park good for the whole season. Pretty neat. So after that debacle, I headed over to the "new" Cyclone. The reconfigured entrance is almost worth riding it alone (since I am not a fan of it). Between that and the paint job, I was gonna give it a go. Rough as usual, but tolerable. After I picked up my fillings, I figured no better ride to use the eixt pass on than Pandemonium (formally belonging to Mr Six). What was great was the attendant did not take my exit pass prior to the ride. So I made my way to close out the day with a "quck" ride on SRoS to close out the day. All in all, for just a few hours in the park, I accomplished a lot. Park looks clean. The new splash water falls area looks nice (line was too long), but there are a few voids which need to be filled in the park. Good day all in all with more to come. SharkTums
Something tells me they're going to need a lot of exit passes!!!
ECZenith
Ahh, I missed Catapult by one day! They weren't taking riders at all on the 19th!
Token Yankee Guy
I learned that Catapult was actually running, so I made a B-line to it. The whole area on the south end looks really good now. Did you mean the north end? Also, when you mentioned the TR was sad and pathetic, that threw me off a bit. Did you mean the TR itself was sad and pathetic, or your trip to SFNE. Because after reading it, it sounded like you had a good day. Next I made my way to Batman the Dark Knight, only to fight against the new parade, which was meandering through the park. Now, for those of you not familiar with the park, the paths aren't that big, especially when it's busy. I found myself walking on little kids laps to get by. Yeah, our paths were never designed for parades in mind... I wish they re-open the bridge by Spider so that during the parade route, you got the back way to take to avoid it to get to the south end. ECZenith
I was in the South End getting by B&M fix when the exact same thing happened. I got stuck in the tiny parade and tried to cross over to the DC area when I realized there was a lovely wall blocking the bridge off. (WHY???) Luckily the parade passes in about 30 seconds... I really hope they get Catapult running properly within a couple weeks.
Zand
I watched the parade from Spider on Tuesday. Talk about a short parade...
sfne2005
Yeah, I meant the North end in the Cyclone / Catapult / DD Dive area is. Also, the sad and pathetic part was referring to me going solo! (and I guess no pics) But your right about that bridge needed to be opened, that was a god sent.
