davisal771
I'm thinking those Aqua loop slides are closest we'll get to a safe looping waterslide. I don't really consider the one at Noah's ark looping; It's just a small inclined helix compared to the ones in Europe.
Midgetman82
The ones in Europe don't do vertical either, but you are right because they are steeper and more intense. Â Source Source
suave1226
Does it really matter how steep they are they all do the same thing. Havent we all settled on the arguement that bigger and steeper doesnt mean better. Either way its a very unique waterslide that I would love to try. I did hear that they had a double looping slide. I would love to do that. The most amazing slide is the one I saw in the TR at the waterpark by Movie World in Italy that has major airtime. The you tube videos of people flipping is insane. greatamerica1990sfan
Also Downhill Thunder at CGA's Boomerang Bay is pretty unique. Is it the only one of it's kind?

Angry_Gumball
Â Courtesy of SRCPhotography for the photos. I still have yet to nab some photos of this section of the park. Â There are no video on youtube unfortunately. Those who haven't ridden those breed of slides, do so NOW! If you catch that hump just right you will be airborne for several seconds. greatamerica1990sfan
^That green slide-Downhill Thunder IS THE BEST! LOVE IT! The other day when I went I went on it 5 times since there was no line. Next time I'm going maybe I'll ride Downhill Thunder all day love it that much! It's cool after going over the hump you do float in midair for a couple seconds while being sprayed by misters!. Thank you Angry_Gumball for posting the pics. Angry_Gumball
^Was just looking for that one...that would be a "Never in the USA" kind of slide due to the chances of wiping out like above. Looks fun however

Angry_Gumball
Slide at Boulder Beach Water park at Silverwood in Athol, ID. Doesn't look like much, but on the steepest slide you catch some great air going out of the tunnel. Â I've done one of those over at Waterworld Concord. Looks like it's the same model too. Yea, that slide freaked me out. First I'm cruising along the tube and then it feels like everything drops out from under me. I don't think you want to give yourself an extra boost with these though unless you want to go flying out, literally. A few pages back I posted a youtube video of some dude coming out the tube in mid air and catching the slide about half-way down...I wouldn't mind trying that spiraling slide though...looks like it could pack a lot of G's. DandAyr
Summit Plummet - Blizzard Beach is insane!! Â was on it for first time last month - good, but would not say insane. Sitting at top ready to go, only reason for delay was waiting for attendant to give the ok. Â Insane drop was at Skara Sommarland - the delay there was building up the courage to go over the edge. Been on the platform and taken folk ages to go over, and seen many climb out and walk back down.

davisal771
^^^ The spiraling corkscrew slide in that complex is painful. Your back get ripped up from the ridges on the slide. My friend came off the one at Elitch Gardens with a scratched, red back. Keep in mind he is an incredibly short 12 year old that probably weighs less than 100 pounds. matteocrepaldi
Last Sunday I went with some friends at Aqualandia and I rode the world's tallest slide! It was amazing; wou keep on falling for what it feels like forever and at the bottom you get lots of nice positive g-forces. I rode it twice and I was lucky enough to be the first on the raft both the times. The second time was a little weaker because I knew what was coming but it still was great. Â The only bad thing about this slide is that you have to climb a very narrow spyral staircase to get to the top and you have to carry your raft with you. It's bad because the raft is really big and also if you don't feel confortable with heights the staircase moves a lot and when you are 100 feet up in the air it doesn't feel so good. FLIPDUDE
Wow! I'm so happy to see this thread still up and running! It's becoming quite the senior thread here! they grow up so fast. Â http://www.area47.at/fileadmin/galerie/GN_30062010/guidenight26.jpg Wow, putting aside how fun that looks, it's really BEAUTIFUL. Especially with that mountian in the background. Â Here is also the world's first double looping waterslide. German Website Sweet dancing chipotle! Where is that?! Loop or overhyped helix, either way, It looks awesome!!! Â Haha, yeah, I rode one of those in turkey, it's super awesome how you can go uphill without the use of LIMs, conveyor belts or water jets. I cna't imagine how that ugy so much air though. I'm usually a veyr fast slider and I didn't get even NEARLY that much air. Â hmm... Here is a backyard slide, this video was uploaded yesterday: That looks SO COOL... Until you see the video of the guy falling form the top and cracking his ribs... Yikes... I'd definately think twice before riding that. Â Â Anyhow, I've had a vibe for a long time now that my home park, Yamit 2000 is about to get a looping waterslide... It just seems like the sort of thing they would build... I really hope I'm right. They used to build something eveyr year but they haven't built anything for the last 3... So who knows.

atem122
Voyage to the Center of the Earth at Waterworld near Denver is without a doubt my favorite slide ever. It's completely themed from start to finish, and I'd say the theming is probably better than Knott's's Timber Mountain Log Ride: Link to the ride's web page.
