FLIPDUDE
^^ Â ^Wow! Those are COOL! Â Where is the red light tunnel going to be? Â Â As for the slide with the lights on the side there is one at the Yamit 2000 waterpark over here. It's not solar powered(I think) but its pretty cool. Â There are arrows facing the wrong way, and neat little light effects. It's the black one. Â Â Only probelm with the black slide is that last time I was there it scraped the heck out of my back every time I passed over a transition. I had to sit up but then I'd get stuck. I told managment though and I think they fixed it. Â The blue slide is an inner tube slide, and it's quite fun, nothing special though. Â The green slide however is something crazy, you go so fast down those helix I wouldn't be surprised if it pulls 3Gs. Which is saying something for a slalom slide. Â Â Â Here are some more pictures form Yamit 2000, because overall I think it has a very unique variety of slides.: Â Here you can see the space bowl and the banana jump slides which were posted earlier in the thread, I think, in which you freefall into the water. Â These are the new high speed slides. I can't wait to ride them. However, am I the only one that thinks that the flat bit at the end of the yellow ones(especially the one with the double dip) is a tad short? You probably hit the pool with alot of speed. Â This is the indoor bit. I didn't psot this because of the slide, but actually because of something you can't see in the pic(I couldn't find a pic of it). See the jaccuzi on the bottom left? It's elevated high above the pool, and around it's circular support structure there is a very narrow "lazy river" if you will going in a short circle. Surrounded by a tall wall with only one bit open for people to enter and exit it. It's called the whirpool and every so often they pump water through it so hard that you get carried aorund the whirpool and it is very hard to resist the strong current even by walking on the floor(the water there is about up to your waist) it's alot of fun and I've nver heard of another park that has such a thing. Â This is the old slide tower which was removed, and had the new high speed slides built in it's place. The orange slide isn't anything special, in fact it was kind of boring and if you didn't lie down you'd get stuck on it. But the yellow one was crazy. If you'll look you'll see that it is sloped a whole lot more than your average non-pipe slalom slide. This, combined with my method for gaining speed on slides, gave me some crazy speeds and on several occasions I found myself almost flying off the edge of the slide coming out of the first magor turn. It also has alot of airtime. Too bad it's gone, but then again, they replaced it with something awsome so I guess that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make. Â Israel doesn't have amazing amusement parks but at least our waterparks are cool. Â Â The rainbow slide tower. Next to it are basically speed slides with a really shallow slope. Like 30 degrees. seems pointelss to me. Little kids might like them though. Â The banana jump
Adrenaline_Rush
What is your secret on gaining speed on waterslides.
FLIPDUDE
^Lie down, hands ont he slide, besides your body, and raise your stomache so it doesn't touch the slide. Basically slide on your legs and shoulderblades. Â Â This is a kiddy slide at a waterpark around here called Shfayim/Shefayim. It's much longer than you se eint he picture but it's stilla kiddy terrain style slide. Using my method for speed I almost flew off it. Â I also have to wait a while after the person in front of me because if I used it I tend to crash into them halfway through/ Â It's also funny because at the local pool, I actually BYPASSED several people on the turn, because they were slowly sliding down seated, and I came flying by on the side o the banked turn, so I slid right past them. coasterdude28
^I can't imagine what modern waterpark would allow you to get on the slide before the person before you clears the bottom. All of the parks that I have been to hold at the top until the previous rider is clear of the slide. Your claim to have slid past people on the side of the slide seems a little bit rediculous to me, but I guess you are telling the truth. I am not trying to take a shot at you or anything. Â EDIT: I just realized that you are from Israel. I am not familiar with their safety procedures, so what you explained could be possible. I just returned from a trip to Israel. It is an INCREDIBLE place that everyone should try to visit at some point. I saw one waterpark that looked pretty cool near Tel Aviv.

That's pretty cool man!  I was looking today at some of the cruise ship slides (Carnival and Disney) and for what they are, they're pretty good. Carnival's Water Works area is a neat idea and I dig the higher, twistier slide that previous incarnations. It's not AMAZING, but it is pretty cool. I just returned from a trip to Israel. It is an INCREDIBLE place that everyone should try to visit at some point. I saw one waterpark that looked pretty cool near Tel Aviv.  You probably saw either the Meimadyon, which I posted about in the first pages of the thread, I think, Yamit 2000, or Shfayim.  Where were you in Israel? And on what? Vacation? Taglit? I don't suppose you went to any of thee amusement parks here? You'd probably the only non Israeli TPRer to have been to one.  Israel is a hot country, so seeing as lines in Israeli waterparks are already extremely long, they usually wait untill a person reaches a certain point in the slide(for example, halfway through) before letting the next person go. Sometimes they wait unitll the person is both completely off and out of the pool, sometiems they have several people on the same slide at once. It mostly depends on the length of the slide and how busy it is that day. On days that aren't busy at all at the local pool they'd just let people slide unsupervised, and it let people actually do a "train" sliding where a whole lot of people sit together in a line holding onto the person in front of them and slide. But agian, it depends on how busy it is, how long the slide is and what kind of a slide is it, and on the lifeguard operating the slide.   And I thought that the bypassing someone on the slide would sound unreasonable, I couldn't stop laughing myself after the first time it happened. It's a good way to beat people onr acing slides.(I wanted to show off at the holiday world racing slides but it was a matress slide. I don't ahve any method for inner tubes or mats)  The funniest thing was when I talked to the manager of Yamit 2000 and he aske dme if I know the best way for speed on slides. Not wanting to sound like a smartass I said "no." and then he told me exactly the same method as I use. I found it hillarious, seeing as I thought I invented it.  Another weird thing that happened to me while I was using the method was at a turkish hotel.(I don't know what resort it was in but it was next to the resort I was styaing in, called Silence Beach Club(which had an amusement park and awsome waterpark of it's own. Turkey's awsome like that.) The slide by all means is somehting you'd never see at an american waterpark. It starts with a turn and a drop, followed by another turn to the right, and then a turn to the left before it spirals and drops its way down into the pool. Long story short, in the transaction between the right utrn and the left turn there is an S-Bend. So while I was sliding down, I used my method for speed sliding, so naturally when I reached the right turn I slid up the wall, as you would when going fast on a turn, but then came the left turn. I was going so fast I actually flew off the left wall, which I was sliding on, and slammed onto the right wall. I then had to roll over because I was now sliding on my stomache.   Oh and Andrenaline rush, that slide looks awsome! I would probably hit the ceiling going down it though XD

coasterdude28
^^^I was on a Taglit Israel Outdoors trip. It was a bike trip. I wasn't able to get to any of the parks, but I did see one near Tel Aviv. It had a blue Vekoma Boomerang and a smaller coaster. I have a bunch of pictures from my trip. If you want me to, I can post a trip report with them in it. Â The Tunnel Vision slides look crazy. I can't wait for some of them to appear in parks. FLIPDUDE
I would love it if you posted a TR! Â Â And that was Luna PArk Tel Aviv. It's ana msuement park, thought you were talking about waterparks. Â Â Sadly Luna Park Tel aviv is Israels biggest(or 2nd biggest) amusement park. which is sad considering some poeple have backyards bigger than it. coasterdude28
Flipdude - I saw both Luna park, and a waterpark about 3/4 of a mile away. It was across the highway and on the other side of a nice park with bike trails, playgrounds, and the like. I'll let you know when I get the TR up. TheRapidsNerd
Anybody know if one of those UFO slide towers with the rotating raft dock has been built? It was called SplashTacular at IAAPA. Wes
Oh hey, new page. Â Look guys! They made a REAL looping waterslide. You saw it here first. It's a prototype though, it was pulling 6g's so they are modifying it to pull 4-5 instead. This is from my inside sources. Exclusive picture I took exclusively.
