P. 771: Onsite employee housing under construction at Dollywood

Recommended Posts

Tennessee Tornado is easily one of my favorite coasters period, LR tops it when it's open.. but just barely.

It's got a very slight rattle if you staple yourself in the back, but it's not noticeable anywhere else for me. Even so, the rattle is very very slight, it's most noticeable in train #2 for me. Again, it doesn't stop me from riding it at least 10 times a visit. This thing has no traits of other Arrow loopers.

Tennessee Tornado is awesome. And Thunderhead is not rough at all. Daredevil Falls is one of the best log flumes I've been on, and we went on it 3 times. Overall we really enjoyed our time at Dollywood. It's a great park and the cinnamon bread lives up to all the hype.

How wet do you get on Daredevil Falls? I like a little sprinkle/mild amount of wetness. Shoes get sopping wet and it becomes a bad day. (Bert if you thought I got upset about my missing water bottle, wait till you see what happens when I get unexpectedly soaked!!) They did something to Great Adventure's log flume last year and it was absolutely drenching people no matter if you were 2 to a boat or packed in like sardines. Not fun. Hoping DW's flume is a nice way to cool off without needing a change of clothes!

I never rode in the front and it looked like everyone who did got their legs soaked. Sit in a different row and put your feet up under the seat in front of you because sometimes water splashes over the side and can soak your feet a little. Other than that, it was perfect for me. Every time it got my face and upper body wet but not drenched at all. It was enough to cool me off but I dried pretty quickly. Plus it's a cool flume.

Huh I actually see someone walking on the last part of the quad down. I see a couple different maintenance workers at the station as well. If you mean the doors where the train leaves and enters the station the one leaving the station is open.

You get drops on you in most seats. Though on my one ride in the front, your shoes could get drenched after the lift if you don't lift up your feet.

Cool. Anyone who has ridden Escape from Pompeii at Busch Gardens Williamsburg immediately learns to pick their feet up at the top of any flume lift! The whole nose of the boat intentionally goes underwater on that, ugh. Thanks for chiming in as well jonskinny - will sit somewhere not in the front and enjoy the ride!

There was some pretty consistent testing today from around 2 PM or so till storms shut down all rides at around 6:15. Then at closing around 8:00, Rod resumed testing and continued up through 8:20 when we left the park.

Hopefully the testing today and the track walking means it could reopen soon. I got really excited after Thursday's testing last week but it never reopened while I was down there.

I'm still pegging that it reopens tomorrow per Murphy's Law how I left the region.

Just spent about three hours in the lazy river at splash country, headed over to Dollywood now as the crowds look very low today and check a few things out

So LR is still testing..

BBQ in market square isn't the good BBQ they have had in the past. Actually, they are making nothing fresh in the seasonal booth (where the stir fry was cooked and where BBQ is normally cooked) it has smoothies and salads.. Overall another food quality downhill issue for Dollywood

Other than that, it's been a great day so far

During BBQ & Bluegrass one of the cooks told me that people got offended by the roasting pig so they didn't have a grill any meat in the open like they used to do.

As to LR, I overheard the Dippin Dots lady say the 17th.
