P. 771: Onsite employee housing under construction at Dollywood

Recommended Posts

It's back up and has a 45 minute line right now. Back seat ride was insane. Quadruple down

It feels like its essentially fully open today. Hopefully this means they will call it as such very soon so Timesaver can be used. Eric said is the first day he's seen where it was open with the park at 10am and not like noon or 2pm!

Just got my first ride and got the very front row. I am more excited about the back seat so I will wait until later to fully judge it, but it's definitely a top 5 coaster automatically. Insane airtime and speed regardless though! Looks like it stopped running for a bit now so we will see.

Btw, beware big riders. They won't help you push down lap bars. You have to do it yourself. Saw a lot of denials and I barely fit myself.

I think that's just lame. I was under the impression that it's required for roller coaster operators to push on all the restraints to make sure they're down.

I think their job is to pull up? And check the sensors on every car saying the lap bars are locked in the proper position. Hey, there is no better motivation to work out than to be sure you can ride every coaster! Or maybe woman? Or men...

Ever been to Disney? They don't touch the restraints or seatbelts.. they have you do it yourself as they watch.. they aren't allowed to touch

^ The LSM fins were steaming on my first ride (that could be commonplace). It looked pretty awesome!

My last ride of the afternoon was in the very back, row 12. It was very shaky. I wouldn't even call it "rough," just alarmingly shaky. I don't know if it was a fluke or not, but it was so shaky that I was legitimately worried that the train was about to blow a wheel or worse. I've never experienced anything like it on another RMC. I definitely won't be requesting the back.

I plan on returning tonight for the fireworks. Hopefully I'll get a nighttime ride in.

Here are a few pics from today. It's a beauty, that's for sure.

Well , steaming fins and shaky ride does not sound good, hope that does not lead to another closing phase...

Nothing like that when I rode yesterday.

Just as smooth in 12 as 6, but more air, and the classic pull you get in the back.

RMCs can be temperamental from what I've experienced. Sometimes they're butter smooth, and other times they vibrate and make loud grinding/squeaking noises. At least the iron-horse ones do, haven't ridden an all woodie one yet.

Wow, gotta give Dollywood credit. Just reopened at 9:150pm after being down since 7:30. Got one night right (in the back - bonkers) and just got back in line for one final ride tonight. Sounds like they will cut off the line in a few minutes.
