This thing looks like a lean,mean airtime machine and it has a launch and a wicked first drop. Sign me up as one of those people who really want to ride this coaster. hopefully this will be enough to convince by buddy to make the 4 hour trek from Carowinds when we go down there next year.

Everything about this ride looks amazing. That quadruple down looks to be very balanced and intense. Also, with a 45 mph launch up the hill, this thing is going to haul major tush. Looks like Herschend, Dollywood, and RMC have another winner on their hands.

 

Very glad to see Topper Track too. First launching wooden coaster is quite an accomplishment.

I can accept being wrong for more airtime. I'm still in disbelief. A launched terrain wooden coaster with 12 airtime moments. RMC is really changing the game.

I called it!!! An inclined launch and world's fastest wooden coaster! Looks like it could be the greatest wood coaster ever!

 

Some observations:

 

1. A GIGANTIC wave turn. Epic!

2. 12 airtime moments. Awesome!

3. NO inversions on this one. Interesting, but not a big deal in my opinion.

4. A quadruple down!!! Looks like Voyage just got a run for it's money haha.

5. They decided on Lightning Rod instead of Shot Rod. Gotta admit, the name is growing on me.

 

This seriously looks like it'll be the best RMC yet, and it's in my great home state of Tennessee!!!

I'll be getting a season pass next year for sure!

 

EDIT: It took me 10 years to finally reach 1000 posts! Haha.

I'm going to assume that the same teaser video we saw on the announcement will be released and that an animated POV will be released at a later date.

I like that it launches into a pre-drop. That should make for some great sustained airtime down the 2nd drop.

This just solidifies a first time trip to Dollywood next summer. It looks incredible, some of the parts had me going, "What is going on," especially on the quad down where it was like 1, 2, 3... 4???

Lightning Rod looks amazing! I love Dollywood...And I love Dolly! I will definitely be there in March next year.

Dolly is what makes Dollywood, well, Dollywood. Everything they do is going to relate back to her musical roots when they announce something like this. This is one thing that makes this park so awesome.

Well, this looks awesome! I love how they decided to do the launch like that, and I can imagine some sustained airtime at the top. Oh, and that quadruple down - that looks like an airtime lover's dream

So it's 1000 feet longer than Outlaw Run, 40-100 feet taller, with a launched lifthill,? Yeah this is gonna be good.
