P. 796 - Ride closing 10/30 to remove launch and install chain lift!

Recommended Posts

Sounds great so far!

the idea that it runs into valleys and through trees in the press release sounds GREAT -- I am SO hoping that it is low to the ground mostly because not only would that be a great ride in that terrain, but also means 3,800 feet will be a heck of a ride if minimal amounts of the track are used in rising up and down large vertical hills. (One can dream, can't they.....).

Big price tag, however, for an average length rollercoaster, even with the launch mechanism, no? I would have thought that a 3,800ft RMC primarily wood coaster would have been well below $21M, even with the excavation work??

And the airtime moments sound great!

Normally I would be happy to hear of a no-inversion ride -- RMC may be the only company where I might want inversions too, but I love the concept of not being too disoriented and focusing on the terrain.

It looks a LOT more like Outlaw Run than I had expected. I was thinking the first drop would be immediate. More surpirsing that they again went with unpainted rails.

But those downs on the hill tho.

I'm very surprised that they didn't spring for any inversions, but I guess they didn't want to push it too far? Or perhaps they are going for a more timeless design.

I for one don't particularly like inversions on wooden roller coasters, so this is great news for me.

Looks like I'll be stopping at Carowinds this summer instead of Dollywood. I'll bet that Lightning Rod will be worth the wait!
