Can I just say Alton Towers charge for the car parks becuase....

The money you pay goes to the upkeep of the carparks themselves, securtrity(sp) ect. Not only this but because of it's settings the congestion around the area surrounding the park are awfull. I believe some goes to the council. Not to mention the fact that all the money provided was put to use for the new Alton Bypass plans...although a bit quite still ongoing I beleive.

Thats a good reason to charge if any. As for parking at Thopre Park if parking in mud and gravel are your thing sure lol. Yes pay per play rides are annoying but i have a great time at alton and never play any it's your choice.

I'm really annoyed about whats going on at the moment with the uk parks, but thats life the old days have gone. It sucks but thats life.

martinb says - *FREEFALL*, your telling me Blackpool Pleasure Beach doesn't have any history?

No I'm not but good point nether the less

I think that disney theming is really fake, i meen it might be kool for kids to look at but all I see in there castle is a huge waist of money and I kina kring at everyone enjoying it! Altons castle looks great is a really castle with history (when building castles woz kool). Also theres HUGE amounts of disney theming and like no flat rides... I would rather a spin and puke than any of the crud they have there, and whats the big idea of the rides where you Que for ages only to find out you have been tricked and theres no ride at all! ie aladins cave and MANY others, i dont like traveling out of my own country expecialy when its to go to france and find I might as well have spent my weekend driving around the M25 for all the fun there themings going to give me!

On another matter I like the walking around Alton and find it 1/2 the fun of going. I must atmit I've still not got around to going to blackpool I kina see it as a dirty smelly metropols type thing, mind you I like the country and you probably like citys, but still alton has nemesis, air, oblivion and others where as blackpools kina skank for roller coasters mind you there woodens look kool even if they are fecking old. (feckings kool to say right? fecking might not have reach the US and maybe then seen as evil slang of another word but I would rather just get told than having this whole lovely message removed- thanx) - So concluded Altons way better

And anyway as Hicko says we have already had a Alton Vs BlackHOLE and Alton won hands down

O and BMPP I have noticed Alton has a 24 hr staff and service gate to there car park that i tryed to sneak into one night and got turn away, so I then parked right out side the main gate and got woz owoken by the security dude wanting to know wot I woz up to, anyone who went to Alton on its last day of the season last year and turned up early might have seen my old grey escort parked in shotgun posision out side:) its all about beating the ques!

I voted for Alton Towers instead of Blackpool, as I think Blackpool is a seaside fairground and Alton is a theme park. Also Blackpools rides are old now and only one inverted ride. compared to the much more modern rides of Alton Towers which i prefer...

i cant remember what i voted for...

:S

I like AT because it has Nemesis, Oblivion and other rides that i hadn't dreamed of... The staff were very friendly in the hotels, each room was really clean and when we got stuck on Air (grrrr...) they didnt hesitate to make sure we were ok. We were checked up on every 5-10 mins until we were rescued and even then they were still helpful. Big ups for that! They didnt hesitate giving us free perks for every rollercoaster! i thought that was awesome!

Thorpe Park has been my homepark ever since i was 3... i have been at least once every year! Shame about the down time on most of the rides though... Once again, staff are really cheerful and helpful

i have visited Pleasurewood Hills once when i was 5 or 6 (when the rollercoaster was called The Cannonball Express). It was a neat idea camping out in the fields (allbeit cold) then credit whoring the following day! Cant remember any of the rides though...

one that you did forget was Adventure Island... it was really bad, but these past 7 years have seen some major changes in the park...

UK theme parks seem to be based more on public relations than anything else... everybody seems so happy!

I was between Pleasure Beach Blackpool and Flamingoland and it's a hard decision because i like Velocity, Kumali and Mumbo Jumbo a lot! but.. I love Pepsi Max and Grand National.

Sooooooooooo...

My vote goes to Pleasure Beach Blackpool. It also has more rides and vibe so i took that into consideration also.

I've only been to Alton and Thorpe Park - Alton gets my vote though I thought Thorpe Park had 3 or 4 coasters that were better than anything at Alton except Nemesis. I liked the castle and the forest, it was a nice atmosphere at Alton. Though the commute by public transport, especially the bus from Stoke On Trent, is hellish. The bus was hotter than hell, and it stopped so abruptly at one stage, this poor dwarf (an Alton employee) face planted in the aisle, it was like something out of jacka$$.

Blackpool and Oakwood are parks I haven't been to that are of particular interest. Knowing what's at Blackpool, I'd probably still give my vote to Alton by a nose.
