ahecht Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 As the crow flies, the closest piece of operating coaster track to me right now is the turn into the brake run on S:RoS at SFNE. Do I feel lucky? Yes. Yes I do. (the closest piece of coaster track is actually the Flyer Comet at Whalom Park, but that has been SBNO since 2000)
mantis2004 Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 MapQuest says 8 minutes, but I know I've done it in 5. Closest would be Blue Streak at Cedar Point. Unless I'm going to work and then it's Wicked Twister. Either way, it's another great day in Sandusky. Map from my house to Cedar Point.
YoshiFan Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Vapor Trail at Sesame Place, about 30 minutes away
Luxo Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Hmm...Magic Springs is the closest park...dangit! The Gauntlet, an SLC, is the closest to the freeway from Little Rock. Oh well, at least it's one of the smoother SLCs!
Twister II Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 I really have no clue. Probably Cyclone at Lakeside.
CoasterFanatic Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Fiesta Express at Fun Fore All in Cranberry, PA. About 40 miles from my house and 3 miles from where I work. The biggest kicker ... I still haven't ridden it.
dougr Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 I'd like to say the classic woodie at the PNE, but I think the Kettle Creek mine is a few hundred feet closer... But this one's a few feet closer! I would say this one...
erinys Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Blue Diamond Streak @ Blue Diamond Park, New Castle, De, 40 miles.
FishyFish Posted March 22, 2006 Author Posted March 22, 2006 Fiesta Express at Fun Fore All in Cranberry, PA. About 40 miles from my house and 3 miles from where I work. The biggest kicker ... I still haven't ridden it. Good grief man! Think of what you're missing out on! http://rcdb.com/ig2530.htm?picture=4 You need to get it ridden and take some intense POV footage.
Tömmioh Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Well, my nearest park Linnanmäki, translated to English as -"Castlehill" is about 14 miles away. I think that my nearest coaster is Vuoristorata (translated to "Rollercoaster") http://www.rcdb.com/id1073.htm.
pierced_b0i Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 UHH Blue Streak at Conneaut Lake Park..I havent ridden it in like 2 years..Its Great though just a little seatbelt
Jo Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Turbo at Brighton Pier. http://rcdb.com/ig854.htm?picture=3
SFOGdude25 Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 The closest coaster to where we live is....2 FREAKIN HOURS AWAY FROM MY HOUSE!!!!! Greezed Lightnin' at SFKK (although I haven't been on it for 2 years)
Mystery Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Goliath at Walibi World is the closest, but only with the track, the closest with the entrance is Xpress, also at Walibi World Both 45 minutes from my house, for Goliath a 5 minute walk trough the park on top of that
SuperGreek1562 Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 The closest roller coaster to me is Superman: Ride of Steel at Six Flags New England. And it is 2 hours away.... no fun to drive with traffic and construction on bridges lol!
viking86 Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Closest coaster: Svalbard Ekspressen @ Kongeparken, a Vekoma family coaster 4-5 hours south from where I live. Then theres Tusenfryd which is 8-9 hours away. Yes, it does suck ALOT some times but atleast it makes me appriciate every single ride I get on a coaster (well, almost) Yngve "would be the happiest person on the planet if he had a good coaster only 2 hours from where he lived " Oestbye
mightypotato Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Its a toss up between Dragon Mountain at Marineland in Niagara Falls, ON or Top Gun at PCW. So, I get my choice of an Arrow multi-looper or a Vekoma SLC. Woot.
RCoasterny Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 For me, trackwise, it would have to be the Jack Rabbit at Seabreeze. The closest entrance would be the Bear Trax, but I can't ride it without borrowing a kid..
Carnage Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Tomb Raider at PCW - 5 minutes west. Technically if we're doing as the crow flys you'd be closer to Dragon Fire or Top Gun(depending on if you live south or north of the park. Tomb Raider is farther inside the park then TG and DF.
FlyingScooter Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 I'd like to say the closest is The Villain: GL, as it's about 15 miles from my house. But the closest coaster is only about 1 1/2 miles away.
scruffy Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Lets see it would be Pepsi Python at Cincinnat's Coney Island.
