weeow
I got to touch a Wii! It's a cute little game system. My friend is saving up to buy one. He and his sister are going to pay for half of it each. Sucks that she's going off to college soon so she'll probably want to take it.
stingrock23
Mine finally came in the mail today. I won it off eBay for $350, which to me isn't bad since it's impossible to find one down here. I haven't seen it yet, so I'm really looking forward to going home from work today.

Calaway Park
If you want to add me, my Wii # is 6779 5630 7489 1460 Wiimail: w6779563074891460@wii.com We got about 15 in the other day, they sold like hot cakes. We also got in 12 PS3s and most of them are still sitting there. Anyway, does anyone else notice how warm the Wii gets when the Wii connect 24 is on? I turned off the stand by connection and left the C-24 on, but then the weather channel doesn't work at all. So what else is the purpose of it besides getting surprise updates from Nintendo, or Miis from friends? If you have C-24 off, can you still get messages from friends when you turn on the Wii? I'm just torn whether to leave the stand by connection on or not, I know it was designed to leave on but it gets pretty warm, maybe the fan should kick on every once and a while to give it a little cool-down. I don't know, for something that uses very little energy when it's not on, it sure stays heated. You don't leave the Wii on, the whole point of WiiConnect24, is that it stays connected to the web when it's off.

Angry_Gumball
Is it a spinoff of Taiko Drum Master filled with party games? I think just a Taiko Drum Master would be good enough on Wii: Nunchuk and Wiimote as your sticks as you play your air drums. I actually thought about that playing one of the Rayman Raving Rabbids dancing-type games doing one of the rock/surfer songs as I was moving the Wiimote and Nunchuk to the drum beats. Sir Clinksalot
Rented a couple of games last night: Elebits - Totally freakin' awesome. This IS the Katamari Damaci of the Wii (and also made by the same people). Totally fun, addictive and twisted just like Katmari. We WILL be buying this one. Cars - I wanted to try out a 3rd party game and I wasn't dissapointed. It's pretty much the same game as Cars on the PS2, 360 and GC. But you get to use the Wiimote like a steering wheel like Excitetruck which IMO makes it better than the other versions.

SharkTums
HAHAHA!!! Great Article!! Woman Dies After Water-Drinking Contest AP SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Jan. 14) - A woman who competed in a radio station's contest to see how much water she could drink without going to the bathroom died of water intoxication, the coroner's office said Saturday. The radio station promised the "Hold Your Wee for a Wii" contest winner a Nintendo Wii video game console. Jennifer Strange, 28, was found dead Friday in her suburban Rancho Cordova home hours after taking part in the "Hold Your Wee for a Wii" contest in which KDND 107.9 promised a Nintendo Wii video game system for the winner. "She said to one of our supervisors that she was on her way home and her head was hurting her real bad," said Laura Rios, one of Strange's co-workers at Radiological Associates of Sacramento. "She was crying and that was the last that anyone had heard from her." It was not immediately know how much water Strange consumed. A preliminary investigation found evidence "consistent with a water intoxication death," said assistant Coroner Ed Smith. John Geary, vice president and marketing manager for Entercom Sacramento, the station's owner, said station personnel were stunned when they heard of Strange's death. "We are awaiting information that will help explain how this tragic event occurred," he said. Initially, contestants were handed eight-ounce bottles of water to drink every 15 minutes. "They were small little half-pint bottles, so we thought it was going to be easy," said fellow contestant James Ybarra of Woodland. "They told us if you don't feel like you can do this, don't put your health at risk." Ybarra said he quit after drinking five bottles. "My bladder couldn't handle it anymore," he added. After he quit, he said, the remaining contestants, including Strange, were given even bigger bottles to drink. "I was talking to her and she was a nice lady," Ybarra said. "She was telling me about her family and her three kids and how she was doing it for kids."

SharkTums
I wonder if this can somehow be blamed on the "Wii's faulty remote straps"???

TPDave
I haven't been following this topic closely (i don't have a wii :O) so forgive me if this has been brough up, but regarding the "faulty straps" do Nintendo really need to spell it out to people that waving a remote control around could be dangerous and that even though it has a strap you should be careful not to damage yourself/others/other things with it? Im sold on this system. I just cannot believe how much the controls can suck you into the game. I knew it would, I just didnt expect how much. Now if only a store around me could get some in stock!
