coaster1
Yeah .. so before we leave for our week in SoCal, we visited opening day at Six Flags Over Texas. We had Media Passes basically and the park gave us VIP parking and drove us to the front gate on a golf cart. The opening ceremony was cool, featured people from Arlington, Steve Calloway (Park GM/VP), and Roy Williams from the Dallas Cowboys. They introduced the Justice League and talked about other changes and the 45 year history of the park. After the park was officially opened, we checked out the new paint on Judge Roy Scream and hit some other rides. Every ride (sans new rides) were open and running at max capacity, one of Synder's new requirements. Everything was great, even the Texas Giant was running like a bat out of hell and smooth. So onto the photos (More at: My Website) Cool flowers for the park's 45th Even painted the piers! New paint on Judge Roy Scream Renamed back to old name, no more Ozarka Splash (Nestle Water sponsorship is dead) Boot Scootin' Site (Zamperla Turtle Parade) La Fiesta de la Tazas Site (Zamperla Tea Cups) Sidewinder Site (Eli Bridge Scrambler) Rodeo Site (HUSS Breakdance 4) El Sombrero's new location Crazy Legs Site (HUSS Troika) Cloud Bouncer Site (Zamperla Samba Tower) Caddo Lake Barge Site (Zamperla Rockin' Tug) Batwing Site (Zamperla Telecombat) ACME Rock-N-Rocket Site (INTAMIN Looping Starship) Roy Williams from the Dallas Cowboys The Flash and Wonder Woman from the Justice League Steve Calloway - Park GM/VP Opening ceremony in the Star Mall
ECZenith
Cool photos, thanks for sharing. Looks like this SF park is also feeling the improvements.
coaster1
And it's one of the park's that didn't need any improvement .. it's quite scary.

coaster1
Typical opening day around 4,000 or so .. opening day is always slow, but first time it wasn't freezing cold or raining in about 6-7 years.
DragonLord
Great photos! The park looks like it is going to be pretty good this year. SFOT is a special park to me since that is where I first rode a roller coaster (Judge Roy Scream), and I grew up for 6 years going to that park. Glad to see that Ozarka Splash is gone, El Aserradero is a much more original name and more historical.

I tried to do my first every mini trip report, I transferred my photo;s from my Digital Camara to my comp, but when I "attach" them they are to big, is ther anyway around this? rollermonkey
Was that the best Wonder Woman actress they could find? I thought they grew 'em real good in Texas?
XanderLee
Well, when you have 3 weeks to find them and they have to be 5' 10'' to 5' 11'' it makes things more difficult. D.C. seems to take quite a while to approve our hopefuls, too. WW is the hardest one we've had to cast in my opinion.
ECZenith
Martin, you may need to resize your photos to fit them on the board. That, and check the file extension before saving them.
