ElBlufer
This trip looks like a blast! I have a question though...are those spinning mouse rides as painful as you make them seem, or is that just for dramatic effect? Enjoy the rest of your trip! Dr Banner
I know you didn't ask me, so sorry, but I definatly think the spinning mouse is painful. I always forget how bad it is until it goes round the first corner and my head gets whacked against the rails.

ParkTrips
^ Yeah, man. And those parks like...SFOG for example, oh yeah, they were all hit with those below zero temps!  For the record, that specific park used to be open nearly year-round but made no money in the winter   Burn in hell.  (anybody else notice the themed supports?) DerekRx
I'm actually somewhat looking forward to riding an SLC with a different layout, so this should be entertaining! Â As far as parks being opened year round, not every park has to be, but some parks are opened for special times of year, like Dollywood and Hershey are semi-open for Christmas. While I haven't been to either of these yet, I know lots of people who have, especially to the Hershey one (granted, they're all local, about an hour away, but still, they went in the winter!) While they may not have any of the coasters opened, they could. You can't tell me that the Chance manual for The Claw says it can operate in temps below freezing, but the Vekoma boomerang who has identical installations in like Japan cannot, even though their counterparts run. To me there is little difference in wind chill between spinning around on The Claw and going down a hill and into a loop. Â Even if some parks only opened 1/3 of the area and like 5 rides along with some ice skating, hot chocolate, lights, sledding, etc, I bet they'd get attendance, especially when its really nice outside. robbalvey
^ You know, come to think about it, I kind of like the fact that US parks aren't open in the winter! Just gives me an excuse to go somewhere else in the winter! Â Let's see...next year maybe China, Mexico, Australia, back to Japan..... Â There are plenty of options! robinschroder
I'm really enjoying the updates so far! Â I'm curious to see if you manage to get any information as to when Stealth will actually be opening when you're on your Thorpe Park 'construction' tour, Robb and Elissa. There seem to be so many rumours flying around the internet about whether or not it'll be up and running at the start of the season (15th March)!! Whilst I know that technical problems forced the Roller Coaster Club of Great Britain to postpone a Stealth preview, it has apparently been testing on a regular basis recently and there hasn't been any information through Thorpe Park's website / Stealth microsite to suggest they are still having problems... Â Have fun on the rest of your mini UK trip! Â Robin
robbalvey
Ok, everyone, we have added the update from our Kumali Construction Tour today:  http://www.themeparkreview.com/miniuk2006/kumali1.htm   Enjoy!  --Robb  NOTE: I didn't get the video done. I'll try to do that tomorrow.
SFOGdude25
Kumali looks pretty fun. It's always good to have Vekoma make something other than another standard SLC or Boomerang. Â To be a great SLC, or a deadly SLC? that is the question. Â I just found out that they took out the Bullet for this coaster. These schwartzkopf coasters keep going away! BelizeIt
^Hey Mr. Koepp, I couldn't agree more!!! Â Lets hope that the beautiful "Elissa" is open minded to lets say..... personal and physical exploration as well as experimentation??? Â It's the classic situation, that if Elissa truely "Loves" her man, she'll do this for him. Â Or maybe not! Who knows! Many wives can be extremely protective of THEIR husbands! SharkTums
Robb is at work today, so I'll post our update from last night!  Tom was kind enough to drive us all to the "Blackpool comes to Warrington Fun Fair!" It was a pretty small fair, but they had a credit, and some messed up KMG death machines!  Cast of characters:  Robb - Big guy with the Camera Elissa - Cold girl trying to avoid spinny rides Tom - Non-German version chauffer for the night Ed - Tom's Brother and all around cool guy Louise - High Class British Porn Star  Here we go! One last ride on the spinning mouse (sans Elissa!). Next up, our night of high class British Porn and excitement! Robb slaps Lou with his meat! Mmmmm Bread, Ketchup, and Mustard, a good snack indeed! Wait, what's wrong here? Isn't the grill supposed to face the other way!?!? Ed attacks Lou with his Smartie Sword! I may be smiling, but that's only because I'm planning all of your deaths! Then we went on the nice Ferris Wheel...oh wait, crap, it spins also!!! I'd like to say this was after the death ride, but no, Robb normally looks like this or worse! There's Robb and his glowing shoes getting an aneurysm! Here was the winner of 'Evil Flat Ride of Death' for the night. Forget the Ghost Train, Evil Ghost Tom is much scarier!!!! Hmmm, that doesn't look like a face of someone who's been through a 'frightfully good' ride does it? Oh wow! Let's check out this awesome dark ride! Another semi-normal spinny ride, so no one bothered to ride! They had a pretty good size wheel for a crappy fair! This ride was slightly less deadly so we didn't bother! Robb: Forget Elissa, I'm trading in for Lou! Lou: If he even touches me, I will kill him so much. Tom: I have no mouth, so I can't come up with a good saying. Ed: How did I let them talk me into coming to this fair again??? This was just one of the many evil spinning rides that I avoided, but took pictures of the others on! Now, back to the beginning...here's Robb with some Hot Roast Pork! Let's start this off for all the coaster boys...Here's Lou and I on the evil spinning mouse! Oh well, at least it's a credit! dougr
US parks, take note! UK has parks open, Japan has parks open.....why aren't US parks open during the winter? Â Because of the below freezing temperatures and the large amounts of snow we get? Plus we're americans, and we like to complain a lot. Â At least I'll start my coaster season this weekend. Â Yes, but why does Enchanted Village in SEATTLE open Memorial Day weekend, 6 WEEKS after Playland in VANCOUVER?
