viking86
Wow! The speed through the turn after the loop on the rocket coaster must be insane!
ECZenith
That aerial shot was just what I was looking for. Can't believe this one got built before we even knew about it.
ECZenith
In the Happy Kingdom pic... Is that a Huss Giant Frisbee or an Intamin Gyro Swing?
viking86
In the Happy Kingdom pic... Is that a Huss Giant Frisbee or an Intamin Gyro Swing? Its a HUSS Giant Frisbee. The Intamin Gyro Swings are smaller and wider at the top. And yeah, that park looks amazing!!
ECZenith
Yeah I agree, this park is amazing to look at. I can't wait to see what the flyer will look like once completed. Thank you to those who posted photos of these stealthy little buggers who just popped out from under the radar.
Astat
http://www.rcdb.com/pd1376.htm Another Chinese park that just popped up on RCDB with 4 coasters for '06: family coaster, Vekoma Motorbike, spinning mouse, and a clone of Colossus at Thorpe...looks like the inversion record is gonna be tied now. Gutterflower
just a quick update the track for the flier is on its way up. not great pics though http://bj.happyvalley.com.cn/news/detail.asp?id=
MARK
Is the Flyer a Superman clone? I have a feeling it is because the track goes under the brakes in both this one and Superman. Not that that's really anything to go by.
Gutterflower
I'm not sure http://bj.happyvalley.com.cn/images/news/2006123141916540.jpg this picture makes it appear much taller (see far left) and the news report suggests 800m long ant 39.8m tall which is both taller and longer than Superman. but i dont know how accurate it is. Guest
Hi Gutterflower ! SharkTums
^So you're in China!? We are looking into taking a trip with all of these great new rides opening up! Really nice photos as well, love the link on the bottom of the page! I'm still a bit confused as to what's where, what's open, and what's new! RCDB had it wrong for so long that now I don't trust it! Is there anyway you could provide us with an accurate list of parks, coasters, where they are, and if they're getting a new ride?
Guest
Hi there ! Well you're right SharkTums, here everything is moving quite fast and it seems that the chinese families discovering theme parks enjoy it quite much. Concerning the reliability of information, I wouldn't only blame RCDB as they might get it wrong from here where everything needs to be checked. Everything goes so fast and in business, people can also change their mind very quickly, saying "next month I open a restaurant" and finally open a car company as they encountered in between a very good offer... Can also be something like : we plan to install this type of roller coaster but as we are in a hurry we finally choose another one. Problem is that in between all the advertising and announcements were already done... So anyway, I got the message and I 'll see what I can do... By the way, congratulations for your site which is really well done and very clear. I liked it very much this is why I put a link... More soon and keep looping Friends ! Gutterflower
Thanks very much. One thing i have learnt is how to navigate chinese sites That may be the worlds slowest web site from the UK end of things. Some of the news paper pieces are pretty cool. looks like everythings ready to go for next month Is it me or are they getting an Intamin Half-Pipe too? alot of the artwork certainly looks like it. (see attached pics) Edit: after a bit of discussion with Duane at the RCDB we decided for now its a half-pipe theres a small synopsis of the ride calling it "skyscraping slide". okinawaboy11
Here are some links to the Happy Valley Coasters. (They are all in Chinese) Gold Mine Train: http://www.happyvalley.com.cn/park/goldtown/goldtrain.htm# Suspended Looping Coaster: http://www.happyvalley.com.cn/park/shangri-la/suspended.htm And as for the Flying Coaster. Its not on the interavtive map that I found. Maybe it was never finished and is going to be finished later.
Gutterflower
Heya those links are to the first Happy Valley park. the new park is http://bj.happyvalley.com.cn/ The ride page being here http://bj.happyvalley.com.cn/park/equip/index.asp (the 2 coasters you posted are cloned at this park but with new themes. (see earlier construction pics))
Shockwave
The way that China is going, I can honestly see them building a record breaking coaster soon. The country will soon have a coaster to equal the inversion record currently held by Colossus at Thorpe Park, and they have nowhere to go in the world but up. Gutterflower
Another quick update some pics of chime long The new joint record holder for most inversions i like the colours on this version Nice setting too From what i can see here the design looks simular to the toverland version a couple more park pics here http://gd.sohu.com/20060213/n241805542.shtml http://community.webshots.com/photo/447045851/1447059592078060474NbBsFj this picture struck me as odd. same colours as the motorbike but indoors. i believe this is their vekoma kids coaster. so it uses the new track system like bobbejanland (Sp?) and everland do. http://www.parksmania.it/english-news_news_chime-long-night-zoo--intamin-10-inversions_1698.html Another shot of the looper here
Gutterflower
Heya i apologise for double posting. but i feel its sufficiently different and after the first post to do it lol. and im writing this while researching it so i can update as i go this ones seems to of popped out of nowhere http://news.tom.com/1988/20050429-2090813.html using the chinese text for the park name it comes up as at http://www.bs-amusement-park.com/ http://rcdb.com/pd609.htm so possibly the 2004 coaster with little info? im not sure but could this be a custom SLC? the bottom one doesnt look right at all and the drop goes the wrong way? Edit Got it http://community.webshots.com/album/429679520dDDwPi plenty of pics here. and 3 new coasters not on the RCDB. this is another chinese park thats had a bit of an explosion in the last few years. the slc looks cool Shijingshan
viking86
There was a small article about that 'custom slc' in First Drop magazine a while ago. Its not built by Vekoma, but by a company that has copied Vekoma's track and trains down to the smallest detail. Their trackshaping looks just 'wrong' though. paulosthejackal
The coaster boom in china is just a mirror of the massive comerical growth and what you could call 'westernisation' of aspects of Asia. They want the things we want and because they are all much better at making money (and not spending it) than us they can aford all this stuff. Its great!
