Erik Johnson
Ok I decided to hit AK for a couple of hours today to see how the animals were doing. I also wanted to take in a Tarzan show so enjoy!! Wow, cool its a roller coaster. I finally get to see what one of those trains looks like. This looks interesting, I wonder why this section is closed off? Oh crap!!!! What happened to Tarzan? Oh no! Its so good to get back to AK. I bet the animals will be happy to see me. Horray! Its Expedition Warehouse...I mean Everest.
Erik Johnson
ok lots more EE It certainly does not look like a standard roller coaster queue, does it? Its the start of the museum section of the queue. What is inside here? No wonder why the Yeti is so upset. They locked up his younger brother in this cage. You can look right back out to the main sidewalk from the queue. The line was moving quite fast. The entrance area opens up into a temple/courtyard. As you enter the building you encounter Wes's work station. The sign was a big lie...the wait was actually around 15 minutes for my first EE ride. Hey, I wonder how much one of these babies will go on Ebay?...oops I collect the m too. They had a bunch of CMs passing out the free items. Cool...I get something for free. They had a couple of fast pass machines giving out a special fast pass. As well as the drop out of the mountain. Before I show you guys the queue, I wanted to show you the most awesome lift hill in Florida. Santa wanted to ride EE as well. ...to get one of these. Before getting in line, I did stop by one of these boxes... Well this was expected. Wow..look at all the people! At least Disney planned very well for today's event. Erik Johnson
Ready for more? Oh, I am so ready for the good part!! You ready as well? LOL! WOW! Disney has poo in a queue. Maybe Wes knows who these people are. Where can I buy this book? Cool...The Yeti library. How many Yetis are there in this family? The museum was pretty impressive. Hello! Mr. Yeti! Erik Johnson
Ready for some cool pictures? Bye donkey steam engine. Heading back into the station. That was fun! Some fun extra coaster bits. Getting thrown out of the mountain. The start of the backwards section...more intense than expected. OK....you about ready for some G-forces? How many WDW landmarks can you see from EE? You really do move up the lift fast. Nice its the helix in the back of the mountain. Here is the 2nd lift hill. Goodbye loading station. This area turned out to be nicer than I though it would be. Here we go! Wave goodbye to the ride-op. Ready to go! Lap bars down. These people sure are. Are you ready to take a ride? This is what the front seat looks like. Before it starts and goes, a bunch of steam comes out of the donkey engine. I think that EEs coaster trains are my new favorite. Yes, show me to my donkey steam engine car. Actaully the ride did have a few intense moments that was unexpected. Here we go! Red Hat Minnie Mouse ears! Erik Johnson
Gift shop! A LOT less theming in the fastpass/single riders line. More rides for me....8 times in 2 1/2 hours. Not bad for opening day. Oh yes..they had a single rider line going. I ended up riding EE 7 more times...do you wonder why? Or ones that steal your candy? Or funny looking Yetis? Where else can you buy cute Yetis? Come on! Gift shops after an E-ticket ride is tradition at WDW. Mr. Yeti hopes you come by and visit him. Yes folks, I think the ride is a real winner. DerekRx
Thanks for the photos, Erik. Glad you got to ride it and share some stuff with us. Its also a relief that even on "opening" day, the line wasn't that bad for you, gives me hope when I finally get there in 3 months. Hopefully they'll keep the Single Rider Line as a constant thing too!

Slacking
So Erik, I could take a guess based on your captions, but whats your overall opinion of the ride?
Erik Johnson
Here is a couple of screenshots from the upcoming POV I liked EE, can you tell? Coolest coaster car ever. More forces on the old body. Right after the big drop you go around this. The Yeti makes steps into the arena. Going backwards.....ahhhhh! So nice and peaceful. Erik Johnson
So Erik, I could take a guess based on your captions, but whats your overall opinion of the ride? I liked it a lot, but again my expectations were probably lowered after seeing those other videos first...and knowing too much about the ride before my actual ride. robbalvey
Wow! Those were great! Seriously Erik, those were probably some of the better EE photos I've seen so far. Really got a good sense of what the ride AND the coaster was like. I hope your POV matches up to the great photos! --Robb "The pressure is on!" Slacking
So Erik, I could take a guess based on your captions, but whats your overall opinion of the ride? I liked it a lot, but again my expectations were probably lowered after seeing those crappy videos first...and knowing too much about the ride before my actual ride. Honestly I'm glad I saw those videos before I rode. I would have gone in with overly inflated expectations if the video didn't lower my expectations. Even then, I still was a bit disappointed, I feel that it could have been better than it was.
RCTfan
Before I rode, the only thing I knew that it went backwards and forwards. I avoided information knowing that I was going to experience it. I absolutely loved the ride. I agree that its amazing. I heart Everest. I can't wait to ride it more. Too bad Cast Preview isn't forever.
Meteornotes
YES! Single Riders Line!!! They need more of those. I have no idea when I'll get down there this year, but I do look forward to checking out this attraction. Thanks for the pics... dt
SharkTums
Dude, I'm so glad the ride has a "sad and pathetic line"!! I just saw your POV Erik, definitely an improvement on the others! Although how dark *is* that backwards part?!!?? Thanks Erik.
ebl
I was going to save up for a cruise, but I think I'll save up for a trip to Animal Kingdom! This was perhaps one of the best photo TRs I've seen on here (no offense to anyone else). I still have to check out your POV of this. EDIT: Where can I get the POV? stingrock23
Those pics were great. Only 3 months for me. I loved the picture overlooking the rest of WDW property. It's amazing, you can see the other 3 parks all from that vantage point.
