Do you think that People that Scream on Rides are Annoying?

I usually shout "hell yea!"s, or "wooohooo!"s on rides, rather than screams, but I dont really mind it, so as its not just done to be "funny".

I really don't mind when people scream, but as it's been said before, if it's obnoxious, that pisses me off. However, there is an exception in flat rides like pirate ships and lame stuff like that -- go ahead and scream obnoxiously as much as you want! LOL!

I've never screamed on a coaster. I'm more of a "woohoo!", "yeah!", "whoa", and "ohmigod" type person.

A couple of weeks ago I went on Phoenix at BGT (inverting pirate ship) with my seven year old brother and stepdad. I said to them "What's everyone screaming about?"

Usually when I'm on a B&M and I have a whole car to myself or me and my friend have a whole car to ourselves and we're sitting on opposite ends, I'll get pretty obnoxious.

But when I'm riding with other people I'm mainly just a Woooer. Except on drop rides like Supreme Scream I'll Scream for like a second, and I don't remember if I scream on Xcelerator or not, but w/e. But a ride that does not get any noise from me is Superman the Escape. The acceleration on that thing is worse than my mom's mini van!!!! ALthough I'll giggle at the top when it feels like your floating away!

I don't mind screaming unless its the high pitch screaming you get from some people who think its fun to get on people nerves i.e. scream from start to finish.

For me , it doesn't bother me at all. I think it's just funny when other peoples are screaming. It's just like, what most of the peoples here said, when they're screaming at places where there's nothing at all, like when you're on the lift hill.

 

I'm only screaming when I'm riding a rollercoaster for the very first time. But the boring thing is that I've only been at Liseberg, so there wasn't really any "super-big" coasters I've been riding. I screamed on Balder the first time I rode it (It was the year when Balder just opened, was like... 11 or 12 years old). And then Kanonen, wich I rode last year, and there I only screamed in the start, after the top-hat, and in the screw thingy.

I like to scream, even though since I'm a guy, its much more of a yell. Its just fun to let it all out!! It adds to the ride like so many of you have said.

 

But I do agree it can be annoying if some piece of crap kid screams ultra high pitched the entire time just to be stupid.

I don't get why young girls (maybe 10-14ish?) think it's cute to scream through entire ride cycles. Like the flying shoes at Kentucky Kingdom...it's freakin' chair swings! They are not that scary! I guess they think it's cute to act scared, when in reality it's just annoying. But I think it's great to hear people screaming who are truly scared. When Kevin and I went to PKI, we rode Face/Off across from a girl who was absolutely scared out of her mind and screaming bloody murder the whole time. It was hilarous!

A little bit of screaming in the background adds to the excitement, but if the person right next to me is screaming loud nonstop or something, it's pretty annoying.

People who are screaming is sometimes more fun i think. They are enjoying there ride and thats the reason to scream loud. I scream also in some intens coasters, that's of funn.

I think it adds to the atmosphere a bit. And it makes the ride seem scarier.

If screams are genuine I love them. They can be screams of fear, joy, fun, surprise, or pain. On the other hand, if people are screaming throughout an entire ride just to be screaming, I find that mildly annoying.

I don't scream, I whoop, but I do scream on insane rides like the Top Scan or Top Spin (Ripsaw). Of course, the screams are more expletives of pain...but that's beside the point.

It depends on the scream. If it the monotnous annoying scream-pause-same annoying scream with same pitch and al-pause-rinse and repeat. I hate those types. I also dont like people who ruin the mood of a ride.

Recently...at Cypress Gardens...we were getting on the pirate ship...as soon as it started swinging...a bunch of kids yelled

 

SCREAMING CONTEST!!!!

 

The ENTIRE ride, they screamed. Had to stick my fingers in my ears to try and drown it out, and that didnt work. My ears rung for almost an hour.
