jumbach
Per my sources, Hawaii is the only state in the USA with no amusement park of any sort--no water park, no Six Flags, no itty bitty park, no nothing. (Even Alaska has an indoor water park, outside Anchorage.) Does anybody know of any plans to correct this oversight?
Canobie Fan
I wouldnt say only... What about Vermont, Rhode Island, Montana, North and South Dakota....

Gnome
I can't see why you would want a theme park on a tropcial island. I think the reason why most people go to hawii is for its beaches, volcanos, and other wild life, not for theme parks.
coaster05
Having been to Hawaii once they could support one. If you are not into sitting around or shopping, it does start to wear on you. A smaller park would probably make huge money.
ECZenith
I can confirm RI is theme park-less.
DragonKhan
It wouldn't fit. Like said before, most people go there for other reasons. and having been to Hawaii myself I can also say there is a lot to do there that it shouldn't get boring. Hell, you can even go downhill skiing!
XII
I'm staying on the wrong Island so I can't go there when I go to Hawaii this Thanksgiving. Looks like a nice choice of water slides! Kevin"Oh well "Bujold
coasterdude5
I think Sea World would be the one that could really pull it off.
phazan
land probably cost so much in HI. theres one reason. also, notice that the landscape isnt vey flat.
ebl
I think there's still an ocean life park on Oahu. Sea Life Park or something like that. Try Googling it. A theme park in Hawaii? LOL at the thought of that. Eric

rollercoasterdan
I think Hawaii is the only state with a giant pineapple maze though. Guy "I love me tha Red Dirt." Koepp That pineapple maze is huge, takes forever to get all your stamps (it doesnt run like a normal mazy, you start out in the center, and you have to find these stations where you trace a figure onto a piece of paper, then you have to find the next and then the next) I think I was in it for a good 40 minutes. I think there is an Ocean Park on Oahu. think we drove by it while I was there.
rollermonkey
Er, Florida is considered by some to be pretty tropical, y'know palm trees, beaches, mangrove swamps, etc. Disney seems to be doing pretty well there... With all the Japanese tourism in Hawaii, I think the problem would be detracting from turnstile counts at CA and FL. However, someone building a small to medium sized family oriented park (al a Legoland or Cypress Gradens) would probably make a killing. Has there ever been an amusement park there and it failed, or has no one ever thought it was a good investment considering that there are alternatives? Guy T. Koepp
They had a real small one on Guam. Oohh, there's two coaster credits that I have that I'll bet Robb Dosn't. Cause the park closed after less than two years of opperation. I think the rotting remains are still there. Guy "I said Rotting Remains." Guy T. Koepp
I was in second grade there. That would've made me 7 years old. That's 32.5 years ago. If memory serves, it was a corkscrew. rollermonkey
Wow, from the descriptions I heard, I would have thought Pinfari or Galaxi. That photo up there ^ doesn't help, but it sure doesn't look like anything we mentioned...
Guy T. Koepp
Yeah, that photo did nothing for me. But again, it was a real long time ago in a galaxy far far away. Guy "Random Star Wars quote." Koepp
