Knoebels Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

^ I don't like water parks IN theme parks. I love to go to a water park and absolutely love going to a theme park. When they are combined - ugh. I don't know why - but I loathe going to a water park inside a theme park.

Anywho....back on topic - if it is a new water attraction, I am looking forward to Knoebel's take on it.

Again, from the Facebook page -

I was talking with one of the project leaders and he almost let the name of the 2015 project slip. They're such an IMPULSE-ive bunch.

Could we be seeing the first Great Coasters Backtrack installation?

An intamin IMPULSE uses LIM's and an aquatrax uses LIM's. I still think we can keep this rumour going

Impulse doesn't mean "launched" does it? What other rides are associated with the word "impulse" aside from Intamin's inverted impulse coaster?

Well, in the coaster world, its used in relation to magnets and/or launches normally and Intimin, I believe, is the only company that uses the word. But the actual definition of the word is more vague:

Impulse: In mechanics, something that changes the momentum of an object; the integral of a force with respect to time.

So in coaster speak, any launch coaster could be called an impulse coaster because of the definition of the word Impulse. But in reality, their clue could mean literally anything that involves something that changes the momentum of something else.... LOL Sooo they aren't giving anything away really.

Its really comes down to a sudden change. So Direction, Elevation, Speed, Decision. Anything really.

I'm telling you guys, it's a Skloosh refurb. They're retrofitting it to run backwards. You're gonna be sent backwards out of the station, through the splashdown pool, then launched backwards up the drop, only to come right back down and get soaked.

Basically, they're YOLO-ing Skloosh.

If we look at all the clues so far it's pretty easy to figure out:

Impulse- it's an Intamin shuttle coaster

Skloosh control panel- means it's being placed inside are around Skloosh

Three states visited- The three states are gas, liquid, and solid so....

it's an Intamin air launched aquatrax shuttle into a brick wall!

You're welcome
