Hattuchili
^ Yeah, Dan´s first post, that is great! Welcome on the boards, Dan! However, the last pictures were awesome, again! It really looks like you must have a fantastic time! I am so jealous! Like Bill, I am really looking forward to a TPR trip to Japan! --Sören
ncf
Robb & Co, have you been, or are you going to Janfusun Fancyworld? Looks like they have some of the few B&Ms in Japan

robbalvey
Ok everyone, today's update is just going to be photos because it's really late and we have a really early morning tomorrow. So I'll try to do the TR via photos, which I figure is what people look at mostly anyway! Oh, yes, and there is a POV of "Atomic Coaster" in the Members Only section and all I can say is "OMG you have to download this!!!!" http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=7 Onto today's photos! Just like a Taco Bell, they keep the Vekoma under the heat lamp so they can operate them in the winter. Part Two of Mitsui Greenland photos coming tomorrow! "This extra football player padding didn't help me one bit!" Hey! This one's got a platform all the way up the lift! Just what the world needs....front seat POV of the SLC! Oh, but just our luck "Nio" was open. Our first ever SLC in Japan! Looks like they were doing some work on the "Shamu" trains! The park also has a Vekoma suspended coaster, but it was closed today for rehab. Stand Up Side! "I thought these death machines were made by Togo???" Sit Down side..... Here you can get an idea of the ride's layout. You can also get a real good view of Robb's head! They actually made an attempt to race! How "un-Six Flags" of them! "But this version is GREAT!!!!! I love Togo!!!!" For those of you who remember our Expoland update, Fujin Ragin was one of the WORST coasters, ever. So we weren't looking foward to this. This coaster runs one sit down and one stand up train! "Hey everyone! It's Fujun Ragin time!" "Hey you, the ring toss is also included!" "Wait a second here....first you give us HUGE hammers, SHOTGUNS, and a bow & arrow, and now you're trying to impress us with the RING TOSS? Are you kidding? How can you top shotguns and death with the ring tos And if that wasn't enough how about an archery range with REAL bows and arrows?!?!? Then they gave us SHOTGUNS!!!! When you bought your full day admission or "Free Pass" several games were actually included. First they gave us a big hammer. Except that this one, like the one we rode at Expoland is completely covered. So maybe it IS "Dan Approved!!!" And it is NOT in "Dan Friendly" mode either! It is freezing outside, we've seen snow on the ground yesterday, and this park has their splashdown boat running! We were accosted by Japanese people and forced to ride the kiddie pirate ship. I'm not kidding!!!! The "Sphinx" coaster was pretty tame, but at least here you can get a good look at Atomic Coaster! Now we know where the signature move came from! Every Japanese park has a MEATNORMOUS Ferris Wheel! Must be trying to overcompensate for other smaller things! Elissa's favorite ride of the day! Any park with an Alpine Slide INCLUDED with the admission is fine by us! Next up was the "poor man's Spiderman" where you sat in an enclosed car with a TV screen and the whole thing moved. Weird! "I'm not even sure what just happned to our bodies!" There's a chain lift that pulls you up a spike backwards, you go back through the station, down a drop, into a loop, back up another spike! Just go download the video!!! We took the "ass only" skyway down to "Atomic Coaster." This is NOT your typical shuttle loop! The most "thrilling" ride of the day - the skyway that is just a small little chair, not even big enough for Robb's ass, with no restrait or bar of any kind!!! Today we started at Mitsui Greenland, a park with a lot of credits for the whore in all of you!
coasterboi
OMFG The atomic coaster is a shuttle loop but made by arrow

Dan
Yes... yes... thank you... thank you... <> I have posted! 1. The Trip is awesome!!! 2. A lot of times when you come away really loving a place, then you go back and it's not 'quite' as cool as you remember...this is NOT the case. Japan is everything I remembered and more! We're discovering more and more great stuff everyday. 3. Again, it's really not about the parks and coasters being 'amazing', more so the amazing experiences going to all of these crazy places. A lot of people think we're crazy for going to Japan 'just for coasters', but we're getting much more off the beaten track and seeing more of the country than any normal tourist! 4. Dan, there is no more AMBITIOUS JAPAN!!! it's really sad, they have some new stupid logo now. Also 5 Chicken Tikka has been replaces with 10 Yakitori chicken, and 10 yakitory beef sticks! 5. Coca cola tastes better here, there is still no diet soda. 1. Why am I not there?!? 2. I was hoping that would be the case. This makes me want to get back there even more now!! Grrr... 3. No one will quite grasp that until they experience it for themselves. I use the word 'experience' because that's exactly what visiting the country was! It just kicked ass on so many levels. I miss it! 4. WTF?? That's lame! And that Yakitory looked friggin' awesome! If only they had something like that at The Fishing Restaurant!! 5. BOOO! -Dan "It was the 3 Chicken Tika Masala, Level 5 Extra Extra Hot that made those meals so great" Angona

robbalvey
Mitsui Greenland Part Two - Animal Kingdom has the "Tree of Life" and Kashikaen has the "Tree of DEATH!!!" Even these guys were all "Someone PLEASE put like 100,000 yen in us so we can walk the hell out of this place!!!!" Elissa's all "Yes it's true...this place really IS a crap hole!!!" This was NOT an "Elissa Approved" game!!! For all you S&S people, here you go! Dammit!!! It was closed!!! Ahh, the "catch you own fish" attraction! This park was made for death! WTF, this is a Tilt-A-Whirl!!! More coaster shots for you, because, we know you like this kind of stuff! "Yo, wassup my homies." Here's some POV shots of ghetto park experess! It was actually a pretty big coaster for such a crappy little park. Our friends the "sandbags" were riding with us! "I don't care how ghetto it is, we're getting a credit!!!!" Kashikaen was like the "Clementon of Japan." Basically, it was REALLY ghetto. On our way back to the train station we say this.... A "coaster" bus complete with a Samurai warrior! Jeff, does THIS count as a credit??? ...and you had to wear HEADPHONES!!!! Quaker was all "the dark ride wasn't that good, but DAMN those were nice headphones!!!" This one included stuff you see at your avereage Japanese haunted house. Get ready for yet ANOTHER bizarre dark ride experience..... Twitching body bags! If you didn't hold your candle up, it went out. At the end of it, they put the candle in a computer and if gives you a ....SCORE!!! WTF?!?! THroughout the walk through, we encountered disturbing images of a haunted hospital. They gave us an electric "candle" to hold and expained the candle keeps away the evil spirits and we MUST hold the candle upright the whole time! Ok everyone. Be prepared for the "Weirdest" theme park experience. EVER. This is the entrance to a "walk through" dark ride.... Polar Bears....WHY did it have to be polar bears??? Anything with penguins is cool, even if it IS -30 degrees!!! OMG It's ICE WORLD!!!! "Robb is easily replaced by ULTRAMAN!!!!" 'Tis a sad day when the roughest coaster in the park was NOT the Vekoma SLC or the Togo rides! We had high hopes for this coaster, but it was boring and ROUGH!!!! "Welcome to Gao - the Japanese Dinosaur coaster that looked really cool! Too bad it really sucked!!!!" I'm Crazzzzzy Japanese Dinosaur Roller Coaster....Gimme Some Wasabi! From here this Ferris Wheel looked almost as big as the London Eye. I really like these rides. Too bad the only one in the US just closed. =( It was all very pretty colors, and without pain too! Yay an Ultra Twister! You can't go through a Japan coaster trip without hitting at least one of these.
