Yes, this was a common fund-raising activity back when I was in high school in Patterson, California. Of course, this was farm country (which is slowly becoming subdivision country). Teachers vs the students....not a pretty sight...they put special shoes on the donkeys so they dont mess up the gym floor... Usually it was between high school teachers and students. They also had bear wrestling at a country dance club about 4 miles from where we lived! We didn't live in exactly the most metropolitan area.
