egiptologo
Yes, Dragon Khan will be repainted...
Dragon Khan
Thank you for the confirmation. It was high time they took care of this gem which was slowly turning to a brownish shade. A fresh brighter red track will make Khan stand out especially with "Shambhala" above / behind it. Now I hope vertical construction (especially the lift / drop) starts soon. I'm very excited at Levi's pictures but will probably be even more with this one since I've booked my stay on property with the kids for August
_koppen
Thank god, it would have been insane to build this new monster and have it interact with Khan without painting it so they both look brad new.
DKR
Jivo, from Bloggercoaster shares these photos: More here: http://www.bloggercoaster.com/2011/11/primeras-piezas-coaster-2012-en.html ------ EDIT: Okay, forget this (well no, don't do it) because there's new photos around! A.J.
I wish more parks would build rides with two-tone tracks. This particular one looks very cool.
Slem
Hmm, I'm kind of sceptical to this two-toned track stuff. Won't there be to many colours with Dragon Khans lightblue and red combined with this? Teal-ish, white and some unkown support colour? I don't like to say it but I think it will look pretty messy and almost tacky when built.
thrillrideseeker
Oh wow!! I love the colors!! I agree, really wish more parks would go with two-tone paint schemes. ~Matt
_koppen
Also sceptical to this, I really don't think the track will be two-tone.
coasterfreak101
^...But the track is right there in the pictures and it has differently-colored rails and spine.
Schotcher
Maybe it's to blend in with fake mountains?
megalyte
^...But the track is right there in the pictures and it has differently-colored rails and spine. I'm not saying that you're wrong or anything, but that track doesn't look like anything B&M uses for it's "normal" track. The track looks like transfer track or part of the station track. Then again, I could be wrong on all this. It would be cool to see a two-tone hyper coaster though.
coasterfreak101
^It isn't normal track, it's brake track. But I imagine that it's safe to assume that the normal track will be the same colors. The only difference is that the spine will be closer to the rails.
_koppen
Maybe it's to blend in with fake mountains? That's what I'm thinking, and man do I hope I'm right this time! Still, if I'm wrong, there are other coasters out there who look far worse than this.
DarkStitch626
Personally, I find the track combo to be quite beautiful and reminds me of Alpengeist!
DiSab
I've always liked the two-toned tracks that Mantis and Raptor have, so it's nice to see another park venturing into this territory. And I agree, I wish more parks would do this for their coasters.
DKR
Well, I also thought that the colours only are these because of the part of the track, but today, I could take these photos: And, this one I think it's from the Station, I'm not 100% sure. Bryce232
FINALLY! I have always loved two-toned B&M track, especially when the colors compliment each other as well as coasters like Nitro, Mantis, and Goliath do. I'm glad B&M is getting back to that with Shambhala, this looks great!

_koppen
The colors are kinda growing on me. Unless the supports turns out to be pink or something similar this may look pretty nice.
Dragon Khan
Comums seem to be anodized metallic grey, from some of the pictures on the site and the video linked above. I woud have expected the hyper and Khan to share the same supports' colour, just the track differing them. But I still think the white part may really look great in the sunny sky of Costa Dorada. It will probably shine a lot and make contrast in the very blue sky, and (ok, far fetched) symbolize the eternal snows of the Himalaya ?
brossa
the bright colours leave Dragon Khan visible, great decision!
guete69
On PortAventura's fansite, they just said that next weekend, they will be re-painting Dragon Khan and on the last days of December it'll begin the construction of the lift. AAAAANNDD, in 2014 it'll be a third roller coaster mixed with those. They will be the first three roller coasters taller than 45 meters together in the world.
