PortAventura Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

Judging by these pictures, the area looks colourful and nice but a bit too shiny and striking for such a relaxing land like Polynesia. Tami tami looks great with the overhauled trains. Have PA installed cameras on Tami tami? I don't recall these little black dots on the cover of the previous trains...

And the commercial makes this land very appealing for families although the unofficial height restrictions are a bit deceiving. A land family-focused with rides that most kids under 3 can't enjoy. There are only *3* rides where a kid under 90 cm (36 inches) can ride, and only 1 of them is new (the train station ).

Oriol "A kid needs to be at least 40 inches tall to ride Tami tami with an adult . I guess they are learning from SFMM " Monroig

Port Aventura is maybe to get a Hyper Coaster (most likely from B&M) in 2012!!!!

Source: http://screamscape.com/html/portaventura.htm

From Screamscape:

Rumor - (5/18/11) Could PortAventura be planning a hypercoaster? According to a drawing sent my way from our friends at PA-Community, a rumored new coaster layout may be in the works that would cross over Dragon Kahn, but travel a very long distance in the process, which seems more in tune with a Hypercoaster style design, something the park (and regional attractions in general) are lacking.

Omg if this is true... OMFG.... OHHH!!

Here's the possible layout! ;D

According to Santiago (a very reliable source and always gets it right with what he says) in pa-community.com:

Well Guys, I have enough confirmed information already!,

and could say it's official (and not tell you because I know, but at this point, little can keep a secret).

SUPPLIER: Bolliger & Mabillard

OFFICIAL NAME OF PROCEDURE IN PA and Bolliger & Mabillard: Hyper Coaster Attraction

Camel humps: 5

1 Helix

1 CURVE AWESOME

1 tunnel

and as someone pointed out there: effects of water

HEIGHT: 80 METERS

LENGTH: 1500-1600 METERS

I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO CONFIRM THIS WITH SEVERAL SOURCES.

TOMORROW MAY BE THE SUBJECT OF THE TRAINS AND THEIR DISPOSAL, BUT OS AVANZO ALREADY MOUNTED IN OTHER ATTRACTIONS OF B & m

Greetings!

^ What do you mean with forceless? I mean it probably will have some nice plus g's at every bottom of the ride, and floater on the hills, and a helix where it maybe will have good g's in.

In another way i can actually follow you with what you are saying, that is almost the same thourght i have about B&M Hypers.

Looks like Silver Star is going to lose its throne as the tallest B&M in the world (80 meters = approximately 262 feet)! Whoa, this looks epic already!

Lol...nooo, being in the very small minority here, I overly enjoy them (well all of B&M coasters). But its a lot of people who feel they are boring and one in the same...I look at it like this, the average park guest doesn't care about cookie cutter coasters. Look how many batman the ride clones and boomarang clones are out there...I mean its not much you can do with the layout of at 200ft+ coaster...

As much as I love B&M, I have to admit that their hypercoasters lack forces and intense elements. Of course, I have only ridden SilverTrim, and most people rate it as the worst B&M hypercoaster. Hopefully, this coaster will bring some innovative elements and their new trains will add to the ride.

IMO, dwarfing Khan is not the best idea. It's the park's starship ride and this will just ruin it.
