Sportsdude360
I wouldn't be surprised if Excalibur is the next ride to be replaced I don't see that happening, but if they had to replace Excalibur I wouldn't mind if they "upgraded" it with something like Maxair. The most likely upgrade would be a Zamperla Giant Discovery. MaXair at CP is a Huss Giant Frisbee.
Tuly
I wouldn't be surprised if Excalibur is the next ride to be replaced This may be possible and I could foresee it in the near future with the new flat ride expansion the Six Flags chain is undergoing. But this would not be great in my opinion. Excalibur is a flat ride that sets us apart from other parks, mainly the Six Flags parks who all have identical flats. ytterbiumanalyst
I thought Excalibur has been running pretty okay ever since you people stole inherited it from SFGAdv. Is it still a maintenance issue? It's not a huge maintenance issue. It's down a bit, sure, but rumours of its demise are greatly exaggerated. castaway_kid
I wouldn't be surprised if Excalibur is the next ride to be replaced I feel like the next ride to be removed will be either Tidal Wave or Highland Fling. Excalibur has its issues especially in the 2011-2012 seasons, but it seems like it has been much more reliable since then.

SixFlagsAstroworld
I don't know what I want more; Ninja given soft straps and a rebranding, Or Ninja being replaced with Grass and flowers I actually am kinda curious to see how ninja would turn out once given the "blue hawk" treatment. Maybe it would be a more tolerable ride or maybe it will make more people wish SF would raze it
RollerManic
I can't see Excalibur going anywhere. Exacalibur isn't down very often, to my personal experience. I would rather see the entire midway from the Emporium / Panda China to Tsumani Soaker be replaced by a grass field and than see Ninja go.

DoinItForTheFame
The Ninja isn't going anywhere, it's SFSTL's VR coaster They could put me in a spinning office chair and strap a phone to my face and it would be more enjoyable than Ninja with VR. I'm all for them scrapping it, and replacing it with grass and flowers. Hell, they can replace it with a concrete slab with picnic tables and it'd be an improvement. Solid airtime on drop, flung out of your seat, and the helix is enjoyable. If you sit in the second to last row. It doesn't really headbang. And putting grass and flowers can in no way be an improvement. If we replaced it with a wing or something else I wouldn't mind, but the state of the park right now needs all the rides it can get! thisdougsforu
I'd really love to know the park's long term plan with Ninja. If they are going to soon be adding a coaster with a small footprint like one of the 4D getups, tearing down Tidal Wave would make more sense to me versus taking down Ninja. Putting on new shoulder restraints would make that ride so much better.

I hear ya and feel the same way but the Ninja now has staying power due to the VR trend. That's my take on it anyway
Vonni
The Chevy Show Bldg needs a new roof... badly I wouldn't mind seeing the building removed all together. Open that area up even more. It would be no loss. It only houses the worst haunt during Fright Fest and some storage that could be moved elsewhere. With how this area of the park is improving, the fact that it's an eyesore is becoming more noticeable.

Highland Fling? That surprises me. Has it been down a lot? I thought enterprises ran pretty well in their old age and they always seem to have decent ridership. michaellynn4
^ I can only speak to the Enterprise at SFGAdv (taken out in 2006), but in its final years, it was a maintenance nightmare, down as much as it was up.

ytterbiumanalyst
Highland Fling had a big refurb a couple of years ago and since then has been decently reliable. Rumours of its demise are greatly exaggerated. Tidal Wave, however, is likely to be removed in the next few years. It does cost a lot to run, has low capacity, and isn't as popular as the other three water rides. Edited March 1, 2017 by ytterbiumanalyst

SFGAdv had other issues at that time besides maintenance (not enough staffing to operate all their flats) I know that, but the issues specifically relating to the Enterprise were mechanical. "Several complete rehabs of the ride failed to stop the slow deterioration and finally it became too costly to keep repairing the ride. The ride's structure was on site and expected to reopen for the 2006 season, however during reassembly it became apparent that the ride would need to be removed, and the parts were taken to the park's boneyard where they remain today." Sportsdude360
I have a silly question. Is Highland Fling the relocated Spinnaker from SFOT? I know Spinnaker was removed in the mid 90's to make room for Runaway Mountain. It was relocated to SFFT where it operated as Wagon Wheel. However, SFFT no longer has the ride. So, I was wondering if it might've been sent to SFSTL.

It recently got spare parts from SFFT
