Ed Farmer
I wonder why Six Flags flipped the train over Typical Six Flags gimmick- just like with Freeze and the Namtab Tour. They missed out on a big marketing opportunity there.
SFZIP
Speaking of flipping trains around, rumor is the Screamin' Eagle may be running backwards at some point during it's upcomming 40th celebration year, it hasn't ran backwards since the 90's. That would be cool, but I would like to see the reopening of the original entrance. (Maybe new cars too? Like Texas Cyclone?) Does anyone have photos/videos of SC backwards? Vonni
^ I would love to see the original entrance reopened as well, but the reason behind its relocation was answered several pages ago. The original entrance was not handicap accessible, nor is the exit. So the current entrance is here to stay. I'm sure that the original entrance and switchbacks will be removed for a future addition. Vonni
^ The current entrance is. HWFan can confirm this. It's all flat surfaces and ramps. You are right about the exit. Guests in wheel chairs enter and exit the ride via the same path.
SixFlagsAstroworld
This might sound crazy but, wouldn't it be better to demolish the line and part of the station and built a better one so handicapped people can get to the ride and you won't have to fight through a crowd waiting for the front row? Vonni
^ I've often thought of possible better alternatives myself (the ramped pathway up to the station is so very narrow), but I highly doubt anything other than the relocated entrance will ever be done. Unfortunately.
HWFan
The Screamin' Eagle is NOT handicapped accessible. They can't do much to make it accessible without demolishing the current queue and exit. If they do any major construction on the ride, they would be legally obligated to make it accessible. Sad really. I used to absolutely love that ride, but I haven't been able to ride it since 2011. (Btw, even though some signs might say it's accessible, it's not. Just like how a lot of the bathrooms (mainly the front mall) say that they're accessible but they're not. I'm glad I'm in HR now, because when I was in GR, there wasn't even a bathroom nearby that I could use. Sad.)
Vonni
^ My apologies for my incorrect post. I didn't realize Eagle still wasn't accessible. Is it because of the narrow queue line, or are there steps in the queue that I have forgotten about?
SixFlagsAstroworld
Speaking of lines, I wish Six Flags would remodel both The Boss and Batman's Queue. It's overkill

SixFlagsAstroworld
Speaking of lines, I wish Six Flags would remodel both The Boss and Batman's Queue. It's overkill The only modification they need is short cuts. The queue lenghts themselves are fine. Boss still gets lines that overflow its queue and Batman gets pretty close to filling it. That's what I ment. EDIT: shortcuts would be better for when the park isn't very crowded
rwilliam62521
Screamin Eagle for me. I rode it opening year in '76, my first large coaster. I remember how intimidating it was, it was a monster of a coaster back then. I have been a coaster fan ever since. The Eagle of today is NOT the same Eagle as in '76. The Eagle got neutered by adding the banking on the turns, removing the double-down after the swoop turnaround, and reducing the trains from 5 cars to 4. John Allen's original design has been badly modified...GASM at SFOG is closer to what the Eagle was back in '76 than the Eagle of today. Also, whoever decided that the lift chain should slow down BEFORE the train crests the lift hill should be hung from the top of the lift. It greatly reduces the speed through the first turn and nearly stalls the train before the drop. Just my .02 worth. YOMV.

When they were built though, those queues were appropriate for the crowd. At one time, the line for Batman extended past the Batmobile, down the hill and underneath the trestle. If Six Flags St Louis would have had Namtab, that queue probably would have been needed. Shortcuts would be nice though for when the lines/crowds aren't as heavy. If they could reconfigure the go cart track to allow you to drive up to the loading platform for Boss, I'd gladly toss my money at them.

Also, kids these days aren't wearing enough polyester--or bell bottom jeans! And they don't listen to eight track tapes OR records. There's no "I" in "tunes," thank you very much. You can hardly find ANYONE who's even heard of American Graffiti, much less seen it! Man, everything was SO much better when Gerald Ford was president. I am so glad GASM is still almost entirely in its original form, with buzz bars and everything. It makes me so sad when a classic woodie looses its buzz bars. The PTC ratchet bars are so confining, tight, and that weird lump they have to fit inside the train is annoying. Screamin' Eagle is still a great coaster though.
