Six Flags St. Louis (SFStL) Discussion Thread

^Valid points regarding lasting popularity and MineCraft certainly leans more to the boys. Has to be gender neutral as well. In the circles my kids run in there just doesn't seem to be much interst in the superheroes. I am sure SF does their research on what the pulse is.

Sally Corp. is the company leading the 2015 project, there are probably other companies involved in the project, it's based off the Justice League 3D dark ride at Warner Bros. Movie World in Australia, likely with a different theme here (what that theme and official name will be is really the only mystery of the ride).

Oh, Sally? Niiiice. I'm glad to see after Boomerang they're following up with some more family-oriented rides. It's been a weak area for this park for a while. Justice League would be a great theme for it, too. For once, they would be replacing a ride that doesn't fit the theme of the area with one that actually does. We'll see what they do, but I will be watching this one.

Before Scooby closes, does anyone know of the "cheats" for the ride? I thought I remember reading on the old local site that there were 3 total, but I only of one. That is blocking the sensor to reset the score. Does anyone know of any others?

^^ I don't think it was done by Sally, but I am not sure who did the theming. Also, I am glad the retiming is going on because did anyone else notice all the "animitronics" were broken/not used/looking dirty.

What???? At SFSTL? Impossible!

Is the Ninja more popular than we think?(please don't laugh lol) I just got back from the park again today and now that my daughter loves riding the Ninja I was thinking that this ride isn't that bad after all . One of the few times we gotten off the ride and headed towards the exit, I looked at the counter on the turn-style just before 10pm when the park closed. The Ninja's turn-style was at 9300. Earlier about 9:30 we had ridden American Thunder which had a decent size line today, their turn-style counter was at 6500.

9300 is the count since it opened in 1986 ... who knows, might be...

So I asked my boys (9 and 11) what they thought about a "Justice League" ride. They stuck their tongues out, no interest at all. So I asked them what kind of ride they would be interesting inside a dark building like the old Scooby Doo. The response was Minecraft! Terraria! Plants vs Zombies! Maybe my kids are weird and outside the mainstream and video game zombies but superheroes just do not spark their interest. It would be interesting to see the revenue and profit comparisons between DC Comics And Mojang.

I think the thing is, games like Minecraft and Plants vs Zombies are not going to be popular forever. I mean, look at Angry Birds.

Now think about Justice League, that has been popular for a long time and even though some kids really don't care about super heroes, many do. Every kid knows who Batman is, but not every kid knows what a Creeper is.

I know what a Creeper is.

I agree what you have to say. Yes, video games are popular now, but there are still kids and teens (I'm one of them) and even adults who loves superheroes in media ranging from movies, video games, and comics. Angry Birds won't ever be as well remembered as Superman, Batman, or Robin. Anyway everyone loves Batman. Call the ride Batman and the Justice League and you know everyone will be there because of Batman.

Plus, WB is suppose to be making a Justice League movie and from what I have been hearing about the Batman/Superman movie coming out soon tons of Justice League members like Wonder Woman and Cyborg are suppose to be appearing. If these movies do well the DC characters will be just as popular as all the Avengers. Anyway tons of people in the video game crowd play superhero games. Hell one of the most popular games recently has been Injustice and I know tons of gamers are excited for the new Batman Arkham game.

To be fair DC Comics is in charge of publishing all of the Scooby comics. There are even comics with Scooby teaming up with Batman.

Does anyone have more info about the school supply discount? Do I need to bring 5 different items? Do I just bring it to the gate?

You will just bring the five supplies (per ticket) to a tent that will be between metal detection and the ticket booths. Once you turn in your items, you will receive a coupon that you will then take up to the ticket booths. The most needed items include paper, pencils, crayons, markers, and glue/tape. Please do not bring scissors as they can not be allowed past security.

The discount itself will make your ticket $29.24 plus tax. The supply drive will be going on August 4-8 and August 11-12.

Markers but not scissors past security? But they took my Sharpie away! A crafty bugger could also cause a lot more mayhem at the park with some superglue than a marker or scissors.

Haha, I know it seems crazy, but have you seen some pictures of Gold Striker's queue at California's Great America? New ride and the entire queue is full of graffiti. Unfortunately some people ruin things for others. Plus, if there is an issue, the park can point to the policy. The only seasonal employees that can even have them are Guest Relations.

Am I reading the parks website right? Next week is their last week of weekday operation!!! Seems early. I was looking forward to stopping by the park friday Aug 15 but no. Seems like they will be closed. I understand starting to wind down the operation heading into the fall, but not even being open on a FRIDAY two weeks into august... C'mon.

My first thought to this picture posted by the park on twitter- some sort of hunting/duck dynasty dark ride? That could be cool though, with something similar to Gobbler Getaway at Holiday World.

I feel as though this picture is just messing with us, but the marketing team is really doing fantastic on teasing the new additions!
