LOL, I always find it amusing how the "Top 10 games of all time" is 99% based on a person's age. It's as if there were no games ever created before that person was born.

My Top 10...

1. Tetris - Arguably the best, most accessable game of all time.

2. Pac-Man

3. Space Invaders

4. Galaga

5. Asteroids

6. Doom

7. Half-Life series

8. The Sims series

9. EverQuest

10. Star Raiders

Some extras I don't want to leave out:

Dungeon Master - Wouldn't have the FPS quest games without it.

Centipede - What would girls of the 80's have played otherwise?

Warlords - Mastered the art of the 4-player game.

Tempest 2000 - Still one of the best, even if it is on the Jaguar.

GTA3, Vice City, GTA:SA - I just love tearing up the town!

And of course Pong because it started it all.

LOL! I agree. I think there are only like 4 of us that actually played games on systems before the NES!

My list is different, as most of my gaming has been on computers. I never owned a console system until the original Genesis. No particular order except the first one:

Total Annihilation (GREATEST GAME EVER!)

Dungeon Master

Marble Madness (I still want one of these machines)

Quake

Half Life 2

Warzone 2100

Galaga

Zork

Starcraft

Guantlet

Tough to pick just ten. I notice the majority of these are older, except for HL2. They don't make games (especially RTS games) like they used to...

In no order:

Tetris

Solitaire

Doom

RCT/RCT2

GTA/Vice City/San Andreas, including the original top-down games.

SMB series

King's Quest series (any old school Sierra for that matter)

Halo/Halo 2

SimCity (I spent hours playing SC2K)

The Sims (there was satisfaction in making the little people drink so much coffee that they wet themselves)

Honorable mentions:

Freecell, Minesweeper

Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, Sam and Max Hit The Road

Duke Nukem 3D - Back in 1998, we had Dukematches over our home network. Loads of fun.

Chris Sawyer's Locomotion (like RCT, but with trains)

Sokoban

You can add one more to that list. I played Atari for years, especially when I went over seas where that's pretty much all they had in terms of home consoles.

Wasn't E.T. the crappiest game ever? Man, that game was bad.

In addition to that, I played some of the older arcade games when my parents and I used to go out to dinner: Galaga, Centipede, Frogger, Galaxian, Pac Man, Ms. Pac Man and Bubble Bobble (that game rules!).

It's funny to see these lists. It's supposed to be the best games of "all-time" not necessarily your "favorite" ones of the last 10 years. Video games have been around since the ~50's, so they're should be some games on everyone's list that were created before 1990.

Just like if someone created a "Best Movies of All-Time" there should be more than just movies that were made since 1990, even if you haven't seen them. I would expect to see "Casablanca," "Citizen Kane," "The Godfather," "Wizard of Oz," etc. on everyone's list.

Oh well... :-/
